### "It is easy, beginner-friendly, sophisticated, and cloud-compatible"

December 17, 2022

4.0

Pros

We can connect our IoT sensors and modules using this free Android software, which is available to everyone. The user experience is excellent, and the user interface is engaging. It often releases new upgrades and additions to improve the functionality of its program. Even a complete novice may use the platform's no-code method to quickly grasp IoT. Data visualization on a dashboard is useful during the product development and design phases. No one can avoid using this app since it is so all-consuming. Its online offerings are much superior to those of its rivals in this market. Additionally, firmware configuration is simple to manage thanks to the WiFi provisioning procedure.

Cons

For users of mobile apps, the notice also looks to be overly delayed. It should be enhanced in a variety of ways. Complex use cases might not be produced with a no-code technique, requiring more development work. It seems that the technology can be difficult for inexperienced integrators. It has been noted that the user receives Blynk Software notifications with a delay. I also like having gadgets that can be organized into groups based on their functions so that I can manage them all at once.

### "For next gen developers in IoT and AI-ML space..!"

November 23, 2022

5.0

We used the Blynk app and its service to develop a small POC of an IoT-based project. We used Arduino and NodeMCU together to develop the application interface and it was an awesome experience. It saves a lot of time in developing a native android app in the ideation stage.

Pros

There are a lot of features that make Blynk unique, among which the best is its wide adaptability, there are more than 5 million developers currently working and building on top of Blynk, and huge community acceptance itself shows how scalable this platform is. Blynk is not just an interfacing tool but now it is a full-fledged platform now. We can leverage easy, simple, and lightweight REST APIs for KPI screening n the dashboard. Also, it has evolved a lot as a no-code dev platform that enabled you to use cloud infrastructure.

Cons

No cons at all. Blynk readily adapts to a wide variety of dev boards like Arduino (All micro/sub version), ESP32 (Node MCUs), Raspberry Pi, and many more.

Reason for choosing Blynk

There are almost no real-life alternatives to Blynk, it is one of its own kind.

### "Good Supporting software for IoT Project"

February 8, 2021

4.0

Overall, I have good experience with this IoT software. I did my project greatly and received rewards from my lecture. in spite of having some errors that I couldn't fix unless the developer does. But generally I have very nice and great experience with this software. I still use it until now to build other IoT Projects

Pros

Blynk is a friendly-user software for IoT project. I did my final project related to IoT monitoring system and I used Blynk to help it work. it is easy to use and is not complicated. All widgets provided was very clear and I have all I need there. Thanks to the developer for making such a great and easy software for IoT

Cons

I had one problem when I did my project. it was when I used bluetooth HC05 as a wireless connector between My arduino and blynk. at that time HC05 could not be used because blynk is under development for this widgets only. I couldn't switch to Wifi because I don't have it at home. so I used bluetooth module. Hopefully now the developer will make some developments on every widget available in Blynk.

### "IOT, Live interaction with devices with Blynk"

May 26, 2020

4.0

overall for home IOT system blynk is best, blynk is not recommnded for industrial use, support is limited i.e forum is availabe, but it takes time to get users/moderators respond. For home automation local blynk server is best, whereas blynk official server is also good optin to avoid diruption in connection.

Pros

Very easy pre programmed scripts almost for every projects available or little modification required, secured and reliablilty in connection. smooth and easy interfaces like button, guages and charts. All the technical setting to set user interface button etc can be configured on mobile.

Cons

Large data cant be exported from blynk, in blynk local server database and data is hard to found, MQTT configuration is missing. Temperatures/reading auto delete after a certain readings.

### "Best setup for home automation"

March 9, 2019

5.0

I appreciate the simplicity of creating a small project and then having an app as a controller for any home automation project. It's one of the few apps where I would actually pay money for.

Pros

The software is super easy to use. It's compatible with Arduino, raspberry pi, and tons of other cheap micro-controllers that make home automation a breeze. Very little coding is required, and you can get a system up and running in no time. The community is great and very helpful with troubleshooting and they really care about your opinions and suggestions. Highly recommend to anyone, beginners or experts!

Cons

There was a little bit of a learning curve with specific widgets that may not seem straight forward, but the examples online are very helpful.

### "Blynk make IoT easier!"

December 3, 2019

5.0

I like the plenty examples you get from internet, also, the many plugins that are available are awesome. I use it for home purposes on my DIY hobby, but I don't see any problem for a productive use. It can be very reliable if you do it correctly.

Pros

Blynk is a nice platform to join many pieces of software and hardware into a simple interface. Your imagination is the limit (it can be above the sky). As a DIY enthusiast, I loved Blynk! You can connect your Arduino, Raspberry and much other development boards to an Android application, you can use Python, C, or anything to create an interface, its flexible! I made my home aquarium connected to my phone, computer and even my car, also, some of my home lights are controlled by the same network, so I can control them from anywhere in the world. Oh, the Christmas lights are there too. Merry Christmas!

Cons

Nothing yet. Maybe at the beginning (I started using this at least 3 years ago) the documentation was hard to understand and the examples didn't help. Maybe that was fault of my learning curve, not the platform itself. But today is really easy to use and there are many plugins to it. So that is not really a con.

### "Very goo IoT application for most situations"

March 10, 2019

4.0

Very good service to get a mobile app up and running quickly and interfaces well with blynk specific firmware IoT devices. Does however require external services such as Node-Red to perform more complex operations or as a gateway to non blynk firmware or communications such as MQTT

Pros

Very cost effective able to be run as an onsite service or as a cloud offering Intuitive Mobile App

Cons

Mainly centered around multiple standalone devices and doesn’t handle cross device well Requires external service such as node-red for more complex logic Sharing with other people is limited does not support MQTT

### "One console/ App to control all your IOT applications - Blynk!"

July 31, 2022

5.0

We have been using Blynk for all our enterprise IOT clients. Blynk application is pretty solid, therefore, one can consider using it for production applications. Blynk server cannot also be setup to build a private Blynk server which will only server your IOT devices and will not be shared.

Pros

1\. Drag and drop dashboards: are amazing. You can create dashboards for Web and mobile App as well. It is super easy, simply drag and drop and create buttons. 2. Display metrics: and dashboards are also amazing for data visualtization such as information from your IOT applications. 3. Secure access: to your devices is possible through auth tokens being provided by Blynk. No one else can play around with your devices without your authorization, therefore, Blynk makes its super secure.

Cons

1\. For complex use cases: Blynk becomes little difficult to use for newbies since documentation is not that exhaustive. IOT devices have plenty of use cases which needs different configuration for each device, which cannot be documentated. However, major use cases shall be documented for ease of use and reducing learning curve.

### "Blynk Rocks"

March 9, 2019

5.0

I was looking for a quick and simple way to create APPs and tie them into my IoT devices for around the home. There are lots of solutions that can do the basics - push a button and unlock a door - or send me the temperature. However none of them made a classy looking and fairly complex interface possible without a tremendous amount of time, effort and coding. Blynk is simple - get an account - create a project (gives you the authorization code) and add Widgets (big list which I am still playing with trying them all) - then add the library to your IDE (I like Visual Studios with vMicro). Add the basic connectivity activities (lots of examples) - and add the various Widget interfaces to your program. And you are done. AND IT WORKS. I recently added my own Local Server on a Raspberry Pi3B - took a bit of playing to get the SSL stuff ironed out - but it is running like a champ. I am slowly migrating my personal devices over to it. Havent played with the enhancements I can do with my own server (like OTA pgming and faster updates) - but things work and do it reliably

Pros

It is a easy to use system to connect IoT devices to an APP for status and control. It has been incredibly reliable. For development or personal use - it is practically free - and if you have a local server it is totally free The community is great and the Blynk people are FAST to respond and help.

Cons

This is actually a challenging question. Anything I thought was a negative has turned out to be my lack of understanding - or a limit of iOS :-) Are there some features I would like - sure. And I can add them to the "things to add" pool that Blynk has - and if enough of us request them - I am certain they will show up.

### "Great product for rapidly deploying IoT apps"

March 9, 2019

5.0

My employer contracted with Blynk to build some custom functionality for monitoring environmental parameters. We had a great experience, they designed several new UI elements to solve our needs, they've always been extremely easy to deal with and responsive to my questions. I would recommend them to anyone looking to solve a unique problem with IoT!

Pros

I've used Blynk for both personal and business use. I've used it for several small IoT projects in my house (monitoring pets, lights, temp, etc), and my employer also contracted with Blynk to perform some custom functions for an application we needed. They excel at customer service and I would recommend them for either small or large projects.

Cons

There are some features I'd like them to include, like a web dashboard. That said, this isn't really a criticism of their current offering, it's more of a feature request. I have no negatives to comment on the features they do offer, it has worked surprisingly well for me in many different applications.

### "Create proof-of-concept Apps in a Blynk"

September 24, 2019

5.0

From my first time using Blynk, I went straight to work building my App for use with an Arduino and guess what...? It worked the first time. Hardware/software projects are difficult to begin with. Blynk has alleviated a lot of this for the initial attempt of a new project.

Pros

Blynk is the first "App builder" I've used which has made it extremely quick & effortlessly to build an App for connecting to an Arduino or Particle IoT Board. Part of the challenge of designing for The Internet of Things, is proving to a client that what they're looking for is possible. Blynk makes is easy to create a proof-of-concept which the client can easily try out.

Cons

There are some limitations to Blynk (as with other App Builder solutions), and that's where the native SDK's come in for building real, enterprise Apps. Though this is a drawback, the usefulness far outweighs the cons.

Reason for choosing Blynk

Again, Blynk has been the best App Builder for use with Arduino & Particle I've found.

### "Blynk with ESP8266 helps you to create good IOT projects"

March 1, 2021

5.0

I had one ESP8266 controlling a relay that in turns controlled my cable TV receptor that is located high in my bedroom and had an stand-by light that was annoying on the darkness. So I use this device with relay to turn on and off the mains power of this cable receptor and I controlled it using the Blynk app in my mobile. I used it for years without any issue.

Pros

Blynk is a great app that you can control IOT (Internet of Things Devices) like ESP8266 or Arduino development boards. You can create nice looking interface to monitor sensors like temperature and humidity sensors and also see surveillance camera. It also offers widgets that you can add in your mobile android main screen for instance and in this way you can see data and control devices in one click. What I like most is the facility to create nice looking interface to control devices like ESP8266.

Cons

Blynk is not totally free software, you have limited number of internal cash (credit) that you can virtually spend buying some components to use in the interface that you create. But this credit is generally not enough for medium, large projects, so then you need to spend real money buying new credits to increase your projects.

### "Particle and ESP Projects made easy!"

March 9, 2019

5.0

I use several dashboards for several projects around the house, including my home security system and sump pump monitor. The app is very pleasing to the eye, my projects look very professional, and works flawlessly. The community support is very active, and company stakeholders are extremely active on their forums. They are generous with the amount of product that they let you use for free, more than enough to try it out and create truly useful projects, but if you want to do more, the cost to add additional widgets is surprisingly cheap. I threw them $20 a long time ago and still have most of that credit available.

Pros

Network connected microcontrollers are meaningless without a way to interact with them. Blynk makes the interface/app end of things EASY.

Cons

None. The Blynk app works well on all devices I've tried, setting up a project is easy, coding the controller is easy, and things just work!

### "Amazing Software For Beginners and Pros"

March 9, 2019

5.0

From using Blynk, I have realized that I don't need to rely on companies to sell me IoT devices to have a smart home. Instead, I can make every single device myself and have it all localized to the Blynk app.

Pros

With Blynk, it is extremely easy to get WiFi and bluetooth enabled development boards like the ESP-32 functioning at the same level as store-bought home automation smart devices. It is easy to make a customize able set of widgets that allow control through a smart phone, which saves makers from being forced to buy commercial IoT devices when you can build a much more customizable version for cheaper.

Cons

Some of the widgets are locked to a specific size ad cannot be resized. I would like to see more current features like Google Assistant or Siri integration.

### "Great for Hobyists"

September 11, 2019

5.0

I am using it for hobyist projects. It has been smooth and easy to use.

Pros

This product was free for me to use and I continue to use it for free. They added features which allow me to connect to my device even when I'm not on the same network.

Cons

It isn't as flexible as I would like for customizing my design. However, it was free so I can't complain when I don't get all the features I would want if I designed from scratch.

### "The Blynk IoT Software platform "

June 2, 2019

4.0

I found the creation of mobile applications on Blynk to be straight forward and really easy to setup. What Blynk lacks in app skin/background customisability it more than makes up for in functionality. I would definitely use this app for future IoT projects

Pros

I like the way Blynk has simplified and speeded up the process of creating functional mobile applications through the use of their drag and drop building style. I was able to create multiple fully functional apps using their prebuilt widgets, requiring very little programming (on the hardware side only), in a matter of 20 minutes on average. I was able to easily pair these apps with projects i created using the Arduino uno and Particle Photon microcontroller platforms which is one of the many devices supported by the Blynk platform. I found the online reference documentation made avaiable by Blynk to be very helpful. However there were a few instances where i required clearity or had some difficulty figuring out how to use certain widgets in more complex use-cases, such as the use of a time stamping feature using the RTC widget, and found their online community to be friendly and helpful.

Cons

Although Blynk's widgets are customizable in terms of size and colour, but the widget icons cannot be changed. Also the application background is not customizable aside from selecting it to be either white or black. I also really dislike the fact that, although Blynk supports the use of a bluetooth communication between the app you create and your project, it does not allow you to access the app with your mobile device if your mobile device does not have an internet connection.

### "Perfect fit for my personal tinkering"

March 10, 2019

5.0

Pros

I love to experiment with IoT and keep adding sensor and actions all over my world. Blynk is the glue that makes it all work together. And it does it in a logical manner that really fits my thinking. I use the iOS and android GUI builders. And I use the bridge widget to let my Objects communicate directly. It all works flawlessly! I am also thinking about using a local server at some point as even that seems so easy.

Cons

The GUI is extremely easy to use but could benefit from a little more optional visual customization. That way my wife would love it even more.

### "Very very very fast IoT platform"

March 13, 2019

5.0

Pros

It's so extremely fast to create a nice mobile app from Arduino H/W data. It can not be easier to develop IoT solutions including great looking user interface. The concept of buying electrical energy for more sophisticated apps has very high value for money. For a small number of bucks you get enough "energy" to build great apps. The tutorial videos are also extremely helpful and fun to watch. It's also great that a local server can be setup and that a Docker image is available as well.

Cons

The documentation for the local server could be a bit better.

### "Amazing for quick and easy IoT Implementations"

March 9, 2019

5.0

Great! I use it both for quick any easy prototyping, as well as for my final products for myself.

Pros

The obvious part is, that it is astonishingly easy to connect the app with a new device and set up a new user interface. But what really surprised me is how easy it is to integrate your own code into the Blynk firmware. Furthermore the reaction time of the interactions is amazingly quick.

Cons

Mostly minor things that are fixable with workarounds: - the way how strictly the interfaced for different devices are separated onto different screens. - that always an Internet Connection is required to communicate with the devices (I haven't tried installing a local Blynk server, but I think that would fix it.)

### "Good for beginner development and intermediate projects!"

March 17, 2023

4.0

Pros

First of all, it is very common and simple to use. A platform with so many sources for information that almost every IoT lover is starting out in some way or another. The library and documentation they have prepared for additional products and especially for development kits such as ESP and Arduino, which are used extensively for maker cutting, are very good.I think they are also good at things like drag and drop, mobile app, flexibility in pricing.

Cons

In my opinion, developer resources can be increased and more professional support can be offered for advanced and upper-intermediate projects.Higher and customizable layers can be added for the drag and drop portion.

### "Perfect IOT platform for me"

March 9, 2019

5.0

I have a small farm about 20km from home, without Blynk platform I would need to go every day to farm to make some tasks ( like pumping fresh water, opening some gates etc.), now with Blynk and some IP cameras it is possible to go only on weekends or at least not every day.

Pros

I like the Blynk platforme the most because there are no limits of boards you can use in your projects, like on some other platforms, and a good description of function on web page. I also like that ESP2688 is supported and now I have made 10 IOT projects and they are all running from one to two years without any issues.

Cons

For me it would be helpful if Blynk platform would have a simpler function for delay function like the one used in Arduino.
