### "Powerful remote desktop management"

Quickly troubleshoot remote desktops with this software. You will recover your costs quickly with saved time with this software.

Pros

I like the speed and ease of using this software. It has saved us hundreds of hours by giving us a quick tool to troubleshoot end user issues without having to go onsite. It's more than just a remote desktop connection, you get multiple authentication options and can maintain connects, sign in/out, etc. all while staying connected to the remote computer.

Cons

We discovered some Windows 10 compatibility issues with our current version that we are working through (mostly by upgrading to the latest version).

Better support for my users

Pros

It's very easy to use - It takes me just seconds to connect to a user's computer. The user's like the fact that I can connect remotely and fix issues as we have several buildings and travelling is not an option.

Cons

Not sure if I could use this for non-domain connected PC's. We have user's in remote sites and it would be helpful to be able to reach these users.

I am able to more effectively trouble shoot issues remotely because the program different protocols to connect. It reduces the time that I spend time trying to connect using RDP.

Pros

That is uses a different protocol than RDP, which provides more features. I am able to get information about the computer I am connected to. The best feature that it passes Smart Card credentials to the remote computer.

Cons

Since most companies are using two factor authentication, it would be useful if Dameware Central Server would allow that instead of requiring an account and password for the LDAP query to allow users to use the software

Pros

Cannot recommend this software enough, definitely worth the money. Being able to remote into an end users computer to troubleshoot issues/assist users, install software, etc. Has saved trips to come back onsite after hours, provided us a place to verify software installed and versions of software, verify and gather installed printer info, remote command line, even remote registry on the remote system. Most everything a system admin or support would need for troubleshooting is right at your fingertips to perform remotely.

Cons

This software doesn't solve the issues by itself (of course we'd be out of a job if it did), but in all seriousness it's a great software there really are no cons. One thing with the version we are running anyway is that once licensed under a particular user on the machine it is installed on, the software always has to be run as that user on that machine. This may be changed now however.

Pros

At the company I work for, we use Dameware to provide IT support to our customers, it has a fast and stable remote connection, allows you to leave the access configuration recorded and save the accessed computers to facilitate a new access. Very good.

Cons

The file sharing process could be improved, as in Anydesk that we copied from our screen and pasted on the micro client screen.

Very effecent way to support my Radiologist from my desk!

Pros

This software allows me to remote into my Radiologist workstations and trouble shoot without leaving my desk. I have full functionality just like I am sitting in front of the workstation!

Cons

Very few things about this software I dislike. I find that I have to update the client on some machines fequentlt, and I am not exactly sure why.

Quicker time to ticket resolution, which has lead to happier end users.

Pros

The ability to connect to any workstation on the domain without having to pre-install an agent was what sold us. We moved to DameWare from UltraVNC, and what a difference it made!

Cons

We find it really hard to find something we don't like about DameWare. This product has truly been a time saver.

Pros

the ability to do remote management is nice. The interface is ok! The ability to do ad-hoc off network remote control is nice.

Cons

This is less about the software and more about SolarWinds itself. They are an extremely high-pressure sales model. The "good deal" of the day is just that. Expires at the end of the day. Support is horrible at best

Easier remote management of PC's

Pros

Can install the client remotely. Most admin management tools are available remote (e.g. registry editing).

Cons

MRC and Remote Support tools are not integrated enough. I would like the favorites to cross sync between the two. I would like to be able to add/remove/modify printers remotely without using MRC/Remote-Desktop. Would like to be able to transfer files in the Remote-Support tool. Would like to be able to batch deploy msi or other silent installers to multiple PCs. I cannot find a way to install Remote Support Agent unless I try to launch Remote Command Prompt on a machine. Need to be able to batch deploy both MRC and Remote Support agents.

Ho usato per parecchi anni Dameware.Ora utilizzo Teamviewer come Standard di Controllo remoto delle postazioni aziendali.

Pros

Velocità di collegamento rispetto a ULTRAVNC, ma meno standard rispetto a Teamviewer.

Cons

The DameWare Mini Remote Control application allows us to easily access our report servers. It offers fast file transfer from destination server. A very successful remote desktop program with low resource consumption.

Cons

I haven't encountered an event that I wanted and couldn't do yet. Rep meets my request.

Quick and easy ability to support out end-users without always having to support them in person.

Pros

Ease of use. Registry editor, Processes, Disk Drives, event logs, services manager, sessions, wake on lan and remote control all in one place. I also like the ability to put a friendly name to each remote connection so that I can also look at the list with a name and not just the computer name.

Cons

Even though the software is a great value for the price, it can be a bit steep for a smaller company and hard to justify.

Quick support from our IT department for our users via remote capabilities.

Pros

I love the responsiveness when connected to other clients. It's much more responsive and smooth than the other remote applications we have. Unless the mirror driver failed, there is no clipping or lag when typing.

Cons

Not exactly straight forward for setting up a saved user for connecting to clients. We also had an application that would black out on the end of whoever was connecting so we couldn't support it remotely with this.

I can assist quickly without leaving my desk. Excellent for providing IT Support during the busy day. Exceptionally easy to use.

Cons

NO ability to use on the MAC eco-system. We have many mac books and mac minis that we would love to be able to support the same way we do our windows machines.

Visualization is a necessity in IT to efficiently troubleshoot end user experience. Often times the verbal explanation isn't what appears to be the actual error or problem compared to when observed with visuals. Connection is always stable, never had an issue.

Pros

Ease of use. Recall of IP/hostname. Dual display view and more. Configurable. Secured. Ping feature is cool, simple yet powerful during reboot.

Cons

Annoying encounters of old and new clients/agents not installed; other annoying errors during connection. A bit expensive per license.

Pros

I have used Dameware for over 10 years, and I love that I can remote into a PC an monitor a live session to see what issues my agents are seeing. I also love that I can kill the remote keyboard to keep someone from messing up my remote session.

Cons

Dameware occasionally will connect to the wrong PC if there is a DNS conflict. This isn't a major issue because it does give you a warning, but I have still booted the wrong user occasionally because I wasn't paying attention.

dameware is ok and a valid alternative but i dont see anything novel or unique about it compared to what else is out there

Pros

It is good for remote access if you need an alternative, in some cases you cannot establish an RDP connection manually

Cons

It was better back when there weren't as many tools out there, now it seems more people are using it for user support as opposed to administration

As mentioned before it tracks and reports what we need tracked and reported.

Pros

It does what I need it to do, tracks tickets, solutions, assets, hardware, and software, and generates clean reports from that information.

Cons

Tech support is terrible, I've submitted 2 tickets recently regarding an upgrade and have heard nothing back. Every few months it will randomly stop pulling email, easily remedied, but I don't like my users to have to wait for a resonse.

Pros

It is very user friendly from the tech's standpoint. It allows for quick support to all our internal customers. Dameware is one of our go to pieces of software for supporting our users.

Cons

There have been no major issues with this software. The only issue we ever had was the initial setup of the software into our DMZ for giving us access to external users that are not on our network. However, the documentation assisted with this.

Pros

1\. Usefulness. Gets the job done when we need to remote in 2. Flexibility. Remoting in to people off of our network has been a great feature 3. Consistent. Rarely do I run into unexpected issues.

Cons

1\. It's not pretty. It's focus is function over looks. Poor UI design. 2. The rare issues it does have can be inexplicable. Why does the display look a certain way, for instance. 3. The "recent connections" list is fairly useless.

I use the product in conjunction with Solarwinds N-Able on a daily basis to provide my MSP clients support. Some of the clients I have chose not to purchase 24/7 monitoring so for those I use DameWare quite often for desktop support phone calls.

Pros

The agent seems to be very non-invasive on the client PC. Full desktop experience (reboot, command line, Wake On LAN etc...)

Cons

When I run up against a firewall that will not allow the agent to install. There is very little that I don't like.
