Saves time and money.

Pros

I like that it is well constructed. Ease of use. I have been using it for years and it has always been dependable. No lag.

Cons

Wish it had a better function for visualizing dual screens. When opening the software it defaults to your last used. If you forget to hit the new button the information changes even if you try and back out.

I have been using Dameware Remote Support for many years now. I find it; very easy to use, secure, and versatile. The only thing it is missing is multiple deployments of software packages at once. Other than that it is a dream come true.

Pros

The versatility; it has a lot of tools; and can be used in any network.

Cons

would like to have tools for multiple deployments inside of it, that would be AWSOME !!!

Being able to work on a customers computer without having to actually go to the site where the computer is.

Pros

The functionality of the software, allowing you to use different credentials to remote into a customers computer. I don't really have any did-likes of the software, it performs all of the actions I need it to and I have not found anything it will not do for me.

The ability to support my network machines with ease of use.

Pros

I like that I can search my active directory for the machine that I need to remote support and its just a one click to connect. Its really fast once you are connected.

Cons

It would be nice if this software could provide remote off network support, similar the use of Logmein Rescue or Teamviewer.

Pros

What we really like most about using the Dameware software is how easily you are able to log into another PC to assist the user.

Cons

There really is not anything about the Dameware software that we do not like. Maybe the set up of the system for the initial users PC, but even that doesn't take very long.

Pros

ease of use, graphical interface got much better and much faster. the ability to browse your active directory for object for remote connection is a must

Cons

registration or entering product key is getting more complicated. you do not need this. Also product renaming is always confusing especially if you maintenace agreement...

Remote management is a cinch.

Pros

Features and functionality Interface/GUI Push-deployment to machines Can logoff user from machine without logging out (e.g. RDP)

Cons

Subscription - It was better when you purchased the software and it was yours in perpetuity. Don't like that the versions keep annoying you to upgrade when you connect to client(s)

not having to use multiple panes of glass to fix an issue

Pros

easy to use, I can remote into any AD computer effortlessly, able to change registry remotely along with printers and other peripherals without having to bother the customer. Can connect to a MAC or PC!!

Cons

Maybe the icons could be cleaned up to look more current but that's splitting hairs.

Pros

I can quickly remote in and see what the customer is experiencing, in a support role this is exactly what I need to do on a daily basis.

Cons

I would like to be able to connect to a network user name rather than a machine name. Machines can be mislabeled, remote desktops change, but that never changes.

Pros

The ability to easily connect to any PC with a small footprint program loaded at the time of need.

Cons

I have not found any issue with the use of this product. I wish we could use it to "monitor" computer usage without the student knowing we were watching.

Pros

excellent tool and easy to use, there no necessity to enter my credentials because it takes it from Windows system

Cons

the updates are not directly nor thru the proper application, but instead thru the web portal, it should be more smooth and less cumbersome

Using Dameware has increased our response time to a user's issue. Instead of having to travel to the machine we can easily take over the machine remotely and work out the issue from our desks.

Pros

Dameware is extremely easy to use and deploy. Connecting to a remote workstation in Dameware simply requires you to provide the name of the workstation you are connecting to along with username and password. Dameware connects to the machine and installs the remote client on the workstation with no user intervention.

Cons

There is not a lot that I would say negative about Dameware. Perhaps the lookup of previously connected to workstations could be made a little quicker by having an autofill of historical workstation searches.

Pros

This saves me from walking across town to deal with desktop issues. I connect from my desktop or a tablet and I can solve problems on the fly. This works great. You can make changes on the back end, like through the command prompt. This rocks.

Cons

I have no complaints that I can think of.

Remote connectivity to all of our computers we manage, remote command line, remote event viewer. The ability to remote connect quickly, and change users on the fly without loosing connectivity, very helpful.

Pros

I like the ability to run remote command, and check logs remotely. The ability to work on computers without the user knowing, is vital to staying ahead of my tasks.

Cons

I find browsing the event log a bit troublesome, I would like the ability to filter it. Also the remote connect auto populated alias can be redundant.

Pros

Its easy to use, I can move files back and forth to the remote clients. I can look at the registry, I can do remote support with no lag.

Cons

I have trouble setting up the global configuration so all clients are the same. I find myself going to each new client and tweaking the settings, but I'm sure there's an easier way.

I am able to quickly take over a machine and solve issues remotely, even if the machine does not have the client I can push it out to the machine to initiate a session. it saves a lot of time being able to remotely support an issue.

Pros

I like the fact that it will display multiple screens correctly and the mouse registration is not off on multiple monitors with different resolutions. i like being able to push the client out to machines that do not currently have the client installed. Once it is configured correctly with Active Directory it is pretty straightforward and easy to use. Usually if an RDP session is locked up I can get in with DameWare to free the session up.

Remote connectivity options

Pros

Flexibility in connectivity and with different platforms. Works remotely and from PC's in the next room. Can reboot the remotely controlled PC with the software.

Cons

the reminder bar for renewing maintenance subscription. It keeps popping up. It would be nice to be able to shut it off.

Excellent support tool and PC admin tool to have in your IT toolbox. We dropped it though because of the cost and tools that do the same for less, despite being slightly less intuitive.

Pros

I love how much you can manage remote pc's from a support perspective from an easy to use interface. Pushing scripts to multiple machines outside of GPO has never been easier. I loved this tool.

Cons

Cost is a bit high for what it does. Hyena is less and does most of the same stuff. If they could bring down the price point, everyone would be much happier.

Immediate support for end users.

Pros

Easy to run, minimal resources on both ends, and little to no work on the end users side. Its like taking VNC Viewer and giving it steroids.

Cons

The varying versions are 100% backwards/frontwards compatible. By that I mean, if I am using version 7 and go on a user's machine, version 10 will kick out an error stating that I can't connect because the plugin doesn't match the version. Not the biggest issue, but still a little annoying.

Easy to use. I like how i can group them by OU. Label them and relabel. We have a lot of turnover in some depts.

Cons

Id love to be able to use this like teamviewer for departments off our network. we have to use teamviewer as of right now. If we could keep it under 1 application, that would be great.

Quick and easy to get up and going.

Pros

I enjoy how simple the program is to use. There's nothing that really gets in the way of me doing my work. I get in and get out, without having to click a bunch of nonsensical windows that pop up asking me to confirm this or that.

Cons

The file transfer options are too complicated. It would be great to have a simple dialog similar to TeamViewer of ScreenConnect. I've take to just using SMB shares over the builtin method.

Pros

Keeps history of your connections that you use. Can install the client on the fly. It pops up to tell the user who is connected.

Cons

Duplicates history of connections. Like to see only one host that gets connect ed to. Sometimes it will not install the client remotely

Saving of working hours, allows to cut down staff of technical support

Pros

Does not require preliminary installation. Perfectly works with Active Directory. Remote access to the register and events, without need to use third-party programs.

Cons

Very much there is not enough text search (names of hosts, alieses) in Active Directory computers. My names of hosts are assigned to users, and process of search of the necessary host in user name takes a lot of time.
