Overall it was a very useful tool to aide our network based computers

Pros

The ability to install without the end users needing to do anything. Only requirement was that you needed to know the computername.

Cons

Lack of out of domain network support. We have many personel that can travel and if we didn't get VPn on their machine we couldn't reach them with this tool. Made for actual remote network support more difficult

Pros

The software is easy of use for IT Service Desk technicians. There are many features to help diagnose issues on the end user's PC (even though we may not use them all).

Cons

Only interface issue I see is disconnecting from a remote session. Earlier versions had a closing "X" in the view window. The current version does not, and our technicians have to close the remote desktop from the task bar.

Good remote tool to force onto computers when other tools fail.

Pros

Dameware is the best guarantee for remote connection when other tools fail. It does not prompt end user to approve which works great for users that walk away or doing unnecessary tasks.

Cons

Many options may clutter for what you use to software unless versed in training manual. This most likely is due to lack of complete training on my part.

None really. I tried it out but it really didn't work well enough to put a lot of work into.

Pros

When it installs remotely like it should, it works well. I love the ability to remove the software on the fly after I'm done using it.

Cons

I could not consistently get it to install on remote machines I when needed to control them. I'm not sure if that's a problem with the software itself or if it's another issue....like OS firewall, anti-virus, etc.

As the admin, I am able to access the any desktop if it is online.

Pros

I found the software to be small and it does not leave a big imprint on the desktop after use. Able to stop the services on the desktop after disconnect.

Cons

It is sometimes slow to connect. I guess when the software is not current on the client desktop. I am using version 10 and it seems to be harder to move between duo screens.

Ability to manipulate users computer from a remote location.

Pros

bility to access users computer using Active Directory while the user is online and operational. We're able to fix issues and load software as well as in the rare circumstance, update data and/or files in vitro. The standard usage is pretty responsive and the feel of the GUI in the connection is easyt o use with the User in tow.

Allowed us to remotely administer all of our workstations and laptops when we only had windows boxes.

Pros

Great customer support. Pretty easy to use. Very user friendly to remotely administer workstations and laptops.

Cons

Doesn't cover all the operating systems we use. To be fair, not many do, but we found one that did. Needed something that would handle chrome, Mac, etc.

This helps out help desk by giving them access to all user machines and the tools needed to do there job efficiently.

Cons

the setup was not the best and complex and understand how to use the software was ok. We had to spend what i thought was more time then necessary to get everything up and running.

Helped make my daily work life much easier by allowing me access to what I need to get to. Not only is the software reliable but it is fast and secure!

Pros

The ease of the initial set up was great! The software has made my daily work life so much easier now that it is easy to remote in to where ever I need to go. It has made my job easy and a breeze and allows me much more access than I originally had.

Cons

I was under the impression that this was a one time purchase. While the bulk price is a one time purchase there is a fee due annually that I did not know about. While this is a very small amount compared to other products I still would have liked to know before purchase.

Pros

I like the convenience. It is perfect for dealing with employees across the world. It saves time when you can run network diagnostics to see the problem. Customer service is 24/7 and you get one year of maintenance for an affordable one time price. I like not having a recurring charge each month.

Cons

It was hard to install. I can't always see the full screen on my remote computers and I must scroll back and forth and it gets confusing.

It's awesome! LOL It's easy, I can deploy the client side remotely (that's huge!) The DameWare Server model allows simplicity for a team.

Cons

Since the acquisition of DameWare by Solarwinds, the price has tripled! From a customer POV, that has forced me to look at other solutions.

Cons

Application messes with display drivers on local machines and it doesn't auto uninstall the client from a user's machines.

With correct settings applied, admin rights are not required, which is nice from a permissions administration standpoint.

Cons

Many options are confusing at first, and require testing and configuration. Offline licensing is OK, but slow.

Dameware is an excellent tool for remote support, especially we are using this tool during the pandemic.

Pros

Pro: - we can provide remote IT support to our users - Easy to use - As an admin, you can access reports

Cons

Cons: The technical support team reported it not easy to install or configure on MAC computers. the rest of the features works well for our Helpdesk.

We have multiple support staff located at different locations that support the same user and server base. Cloud login allows everyone to have access for support.

Pros

Straight forward to setup and configure. No on prem server to create or support. Creating branded agents was very fast and easy. Deployment of agents was fast and simple.

Cons

Not all of the features of the on prem version are available. Admin accounts can be confusing. Screen resolution nag menu pops up too often.

I have never used a remote solution as easy as this. They have the most customization options for the scope of what we can do.

Cons

The pricing is not even close to the cheaper end of the pool. I also think that based on the pricing there are more features it should do.
