With further improvements to integrations, it has the potential to be an even more powerful part of our firm’s operations. Pros What I like most about IRIS Elements is the single source of truth it offers through a unified database across modules, which makes managing client data straightforward and consistent. The ease of use stands out – it’s intuitive and user-friendly, even for new staff. I also appreciate that the product is continually being improved, with regular updates that show the developers are listening to user feedback and actively enhancing functionality. Cons The main limitation for us is the lack of integration with Zapier, which restricts our ability to build automations across platforms and connect with other parts of our tech stack. Director Accounting Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Excellent online accounting software" October 6, 2025 5.0 Very good with onboarding help provided via online face to face support to get me up and running very quickly. Pros Easy to use and available anywhere online so not limited to one computer. The cost is good and offers a number of licences depending on your requirements. I had one query which was quickly resolved by their online support. Cons The licencing is a challenge to get all of the products within the same licence period with a very long 90 day notice length. Pros It’s web based and so that enables great accessibility and not relying on updates to download and install. Cons Having to get used to a new system is never the best thing but it’s user friendly and I found it quick to learn. September 20, 2024 1.0 Frustrating, no one to talk to, only online chat which is not always responded to and when a feature doesn't work they remove it rather than fix it. Pros Well known software provider with an excellent reputation in tax products. Cons New version is littered with errors and reduced capability. It does everything I need it to do with the added benefit of having the dashboard for a snapshot of outstanding returns/accounts. Pros Easy to navigate between sections, and accounts and tax integrate very well together. Cons Very occasionally I get logged out when I'm in the middle of something - just a glitch I'm sure! It was an easy transition from what we were using before Iris Elements Pros Easy to use and navigate. It will be our main source of filing Tax Returns for companies come 31st March 2026. Cons There is nothing to report of what I like least of Iris Elements so I am quite happy with this commercial software. I was told that I should cancel the direct debit but if I cancelled it then I couldn't access it . Would like to see some more functionality added in the near future. Pros This software is simple to use and create basic accounts and tax returns for most clients. The cost is relatively low compared to other offerings on the market. Cons I can't work out how to produce nicely formatted full accounts for LLP's.
