### "Solid Product for Tax Season"

September 1, 2026

5.0

Great. I use it every year and have never looked for an alternate platform or service. I would also suggest it to small-businesses.

Pros

Turbotax is really easy to use for my business. I like how it is always a step away of me when I am handling my accounting. The tax filing process itself couldn't be more easy and it is great value for money.

Cons

I had one issue with support team where they quite literally did my tax check wrong. If I had submitted like that, I would've certainly gotten in trouble. But with a watchful eye and double checking their work it is okay.

### "Great Product"

August 6, 2026

5.0

I think it's a great product. I can't say if support is good because I haven't called. It seems to have the laws correct.

Pros

Easy to learn. Reasonable price. Can go directly to forms or use screen by screen questions. Accurate tax laws.

Cons

Sometimes when I changed companies, it didn't seem to change me over. I had to close out and restart.

### "Great Tax Software "

July 16, 2026

4.0

It's positive over all. Effective and works well. It will alert you if there are errors in input and make suggestions to how to chance them

Pros

It's an essential software to do individual and small business tax. It's easy to use. And I mostly like that it allows you to import data from QuickBooks and such.

Cons

It has some glitches from time to time, refusing to update certain info. It gets slow after a certain time in the evening.

### "Took the Stress Out of Taxes for Business"

March 31, 2026

5.0

I had a great experience using TurboTax Business. It simplified a very complex process and gave me confidence that my taxes were done correctly. The guidance was clear, and the system was easy to navigate. While it is a bit pricey, the convenience and accuracy made it worth it for me.

Pros

Walks you through like an interview instead of completing confusing forms. Great for S-Corporations, C-Corporations, Multi-member LLC’s, and Partnerships.

Cons

It’s a bit pricey and additional States cost extra for filing. Not ideal for beginners of Corporations. Upsells can be annoying.

### "Simple and Effective"

March 17, 2026

3.0

The software delivers what it promises. It guides you step-by-step. It's not terribly expensive and is lightweight.

Pros

Seeing live, while inputting slips, deductions, etc., what my Return will amount to. Some tips and warnings and Netfile.

Cons

The fact that it's needed at all instead of our taxes being automatically calculated and filed, at least as far as basic returns are considered.

### "Best for Small Business Organized as S-Corp"

February 26, 2026

5.0

For a small business organized as a S-Corp, if you also use QuickBooks this is excellent software for the price.

Pros

Ease of use as well as accuracy. I have been using Turbotax Business to file corporate returns for my S-Corp for many years. I like the fact it imports all of the data from my prior year return as well as from QuickBooks. Electronic filing is also a huge plus.

Cons

Not too much I don't like about it. However, if I had to pick one thing I'd say there are certain topics the software could give more guidance on. However, the software always points you to the IRS website for further guidance.

### "TurboTax Business disappoints."

February 18, 2026

1.0

Time consuming to reach the appropriate support (multiple transfers for each discussion. Often ending in a disconnect between the second and third support specialist). Poorly designed user interface with limited functionality. Nothing like my experience with TurboTax on my individual tax return. I chose TurboTax Business because I thought it too would be user friendly, functional and well supported. I found that none of those assumptions was correct.

Pros

Cost? Maybe it would be useful if your tax situation was more simple than any business that I am involved in.

Cons

Support routinely drops calls between second and third transfer. No direct line for TurboTax Business so first stop is someone to validate you, second stop is first level support, who is unable to answer questions such as, where is cost basis entered, how do I enter foreign tax as an investment expense. The tool appears to have been built in 1989. No ability to import information from a brokerage account. Even worse. There is no ability to enter a 1099 (a 1099 has simple numbered boxes, but TurboTax business does not, nor do they use the same or even similar terms and as I found out after a 2 hour call there simply is no way to enter foreign tax expenses into TurboTax business for a partnership). The above is for an investment pool for my elderly parents structured as a Partnership, so it will be able to receive a stepup basis when they pass away so that they can seamlessly transfer assets to their grandchildren. I say this to point out that a lack of 1099 support for Partnerships is likely impacting a significant number of users. Finally. This entity started as a LLC type S, when attempting to convert to an LLC Partnership it was found that the entire business needed to be reentered. I understand that many of the forms for Type S and Partnership are different, but the preamble is not (company name, address. EIN, partner names, SSNs, addresses - this rework took about 2 hours). Last but not least, I took over the process of filing an 1120s from my accountant this year. Completed and filed my 1120s, upon reviewing my K-1 I found that I had no basis from 2024, which shouldn't be surprising since I didn't enter it, but what was frustrating was 1) it ended up being very difficult to find where to enter it 2) it is not acceptable that one needs to hunt thru the forms to enter it (there is no question asking for instance, do you have a basis from previous years to enter).

### "Cheaper than an Accountant!"

June 18, 2019

5.0

We've only used it this year, and so far, I love it. It was super easy to link up Quickbooks and all our employee info. Very intuitive filling out the tax forms as well.

Pros

I love that it syncs with our Payroll, that is why we switched from TaxAct is because TurboTax syncs directly with our Intuit Quickbooks.

Cons

It's more expensive than TaxAct, and the customer service takes forever to get an actual agent on the phone.

### "TurboTax is plagued with software glitches and deceptive customer support"

April 3, 2025

1.0

Terrible. I used TurboTax for several years without issue, but when filing for 2024 taxes, they showed I was owed a refund. I submitted my tax return after confirming the refund and all the information was correct. However, TurboTax filed a different return with the government, instead showing that I owed the government money. They then made false promises after I contacted support, telling me they refunded their fee (they didn't), giving me a number to get a free tax review (the service said they wouldn't offer this to me), and then telling me it was the IRS who had amended the tax return (they hadn't). All in all, TurboTax is susceptible to major glitches in their software. Put simply, you can't trust that the return you are filing is correct. Furthermore, their customer support team is so deceptive you can only imagine it's an official policy or part of their culture to lie to customers to get them to get off the phone. After all, in the end you are liable to the federal government, so they have leverage over you even if they made a mistake. What I once thought was a great business and tool is actually one of the worst pieces of software and worst company cultures out there. I recommend that no one use them for tax preparation.

Pros

The wizard interface and contextual help provided to file your taxes.

Cons

The tax filing they made with the government was different from what they showed me on the confirmation page and what I signed my name to.

### "As Great for Business as for Personal"

June 20, 2025

5.0

I have loved using TurboTax. I have used it for my personal taxes for years and now use it for my businesses. Turbo Tax will ask you questions and input the information directly onto the forms so you don't have to worry about the legalese or try to decipher what is being asked.

Pros

TurboTax is incredibly user friendly. They use very common jargon so you do not need to be a tax pro in order to answer their questions which search for the next deductions possible for your siutation

Cons

It can be a bit pricey and if you do business in multiple states you will pay to file for every state you have worked in.

### "Turbotax stinks"

June 4, 2025

1.0

Terrible. Waste of time, frustrating. Worst experience with tax software ever. Chat support is even worse. Chat support advised me to use another company??

Pros

Nothing. I thought it was confusing, didn’t work very well and getting support is confusing, slow and borderline useless

Cons

Everything. You can’t speak to Actual humans. Their Chat service cuts you off quickly forcing you to start over and they don’t appear to be trained very well

Pros

They stay on top of the game. Months before it's time to file there already on it. Getting things prepped and ready. Makes it simple. Absolutely love it.

Cons

### "Yearly Turn to TurboTax to file my own taxes"

April 2, 2018

4.0

Pros

Turbotax will keep prior years information saved for next years taxes if you have not had any significant changes you can easily file your taxes without having to locate documents for filing the EITC, employer information, household information etc. There is no cost to file your federal taxes with Turbotax. It sends reminders when your tax return is estimated to come. It allows for you to have access anywhere being it is web-based and anywhere you have internet access you can access Turbotax. It has a forum for questions and answers for anyone to review and a free estimation of your tax return estimator. It allows you to review your taxes for any errors or mistakes. If you remain idle too long the software will automatically log you out. It allows users to file their own taxes. They have areas to explain questions asked on taxes. It is user friendly. With so many users it should not allow you to access your taxes and then force you to upgrade the next year and if you do not it will vanish your information in front of your face which is sort of rude if you ask me. They should just delete if after they send the information or at the end of the tax year your filing for ask would you like to take out to save next years information for fast and easy convience? People would be more inclined because they have the money to do it to be taken out. What if I do not want to upgrade and needed to amend a tax year and they erased the information what happens then?

Cons

It only saves your information if you pay to upgrade the software if you do not pay your information is lost and you have to input everything like a first time user. There is a cost for your state taxes but it does not seem to be as detailed for state taxes as it is for federal as far as claiming the EITC through State Taxes as well. Because people fraud taxes some answers in the forum or vague and for people really wanting the answer it really is not presented as a yes or no. Maybe they can have a ask a legal question regarding your taxes feature for answers to tax related questions and provide that as an additional service where the question is emailed to you. Are for an a la carte flat fee with the upgrade you have the option to have lawyer/irs agent answered tax related quesitons with definite answers provided in a general forum and have a per day usage charge deducted from taxes or something of the sort. Then you can really do your taxes without having to consult someone, then finish your taxes later.

### "Gets worse every year that goes by"

March 17, 2020

1.0

TurboTax is a one-stop-shop for the two certainties in life, Death and Taxes, because by the time you're halfway through using their product, you'll be sure to want to blow your brains out.

Pros

The only thing I used to like is that it would sync with other free Intuit products like Mint, but the new version is so buggy that even syncing doesn't work

Cons

1\. Suprise charges. Anything you do will sneak attack you with an upcharge for a necessary feature when you're halfway through. For example, the business version will charge you about $175 just for the software, then another $60 or so for your state, and if you're in NYC, it'll try to charge you even more for the city. Even their phone support team didn't know if NYC and NY State were necessary concurrently. The free version of the personal version hits you about halfway through with a surprise, "if you want to add a 1099, you have to pay us." 2. Bugs galore. The software logs you out, won't accept your password when you try to log back in, and won't let you reset your password. More wasted time. 3. Phone support is near non-existent, and the few staff members who do man the phones appear to lack information and authority to necessary to provide effective assistance. Also, you have to go through a phone tree where you may as well have to answer three riddles and sacrifice your firstborn to get to a human, and by the time you get that poor bastard on the other end of the line, you're seeing red and using every ounce of willpower not to take out your rage on the poor soul who is no doubt underpaid by a corporation that singlehandedly lobbied (successfully) to ensure that your taxes could not be done for you automatically by states for free.

### "TurboTax is great for solopreneurs."

October 29, 2023

4.0

I have used TurboTax for years now because it is affordable and relatively easy to use, even for self-employed contractors.

Pros

TurboTax has been helpful to me for the past several years. The fact that my Self-Employment Quickbooks can feed information directly into my TurboTax is amazing. Customer service is also good. When I had two complex issues last year, they called me back with answers on how to categorize the expenses.

Cons

For government employees who move overseas for work, it is not always the easiest to figure out state taxes.

### "TTBInc 2020 cannot co-exist with TTBInc 2021 - Support is clueless, chat only, No telephone number!!"

May 11, 2022

TTBInc 2020 cannot co-exist with TTBInc 2021 - Support is clueless, chat only, No telephone number!! Support guys on chat actually tells you if you buy from retailers(which BTW has listed all retailers on their website) then don't expect any help. TTBinc 2020 and TTBinc cannot co-exist. I have saved chats for anyone who cares, about how disgusting the experience with support was.

Pros

Till TTBinc 2020 everything was good. With TTBinc 2021 - something has changed as described below.

Cons

TTBInc 2020 cannot co-exist with TTBInc 2021 - Support is clueless, chat only, No telephone number!! Support guys on chat actually tells you if you buy from retailers(which BTW has listed all retailers on their website) then don't expect any help. TTBinc 2020 and TTBinc 2021 cannot co-exist. I have saved chats for anyone who cares, about how disgusting the experience with support was. They have a non-working half-cooked Patch with missing steps which they give you on live chat and which doesn't work. They don't help you over remote connection knowing that it is not going to work. So had to uninstall and re-install TTBinc 2020 on a different computer - where I had to get new codes from Support. They did provide new codes though.

### "Makes Taxes Easy"

March 23, 2021

5.0

Overall, I love using the software. Makes doing taxes quick and gives me the confidence that I didn't miss anything. Also, the auto-calculations ensure that there are no mathematical errors on your part.

Pros

I have used TurboTax for Business for years. In addition to being an employee, I also have some of my own Sole Proprietorships. The software walks a person step-by-step through every aspect of his taxes, accounting for all his income and also for all possible deductions and credits. It auto-calculates the totals. Also, you can use the software to file your taxes electronically, which usually results in a very quick refund, if any is due.

Cons

Occasionally, there are special circumstances when you have to do a manual over-ride of the software's calculations, but if you do that then there are times when you can't use the software to file electronically. Your calculations will still be correct, but you'll have to file a printed paper copy and send through the mail rather than electronically. This isn't the case with all manual over-rides, but it can happen.

### "Sole Proprietorship Taxes"

May 17, 2019

5.0

Overall, turbotax business is a very good product. It has worked for my practice and as a sole proprietorship it is all that is needed versus an accountant. If you need it for an LLC that is too big, an accountant may be a better choice. If one is self-employed, small business, combines personal and business income, then I would highly recommend.

Pros

A. The user interface is friendly compared to other tax software B. The online version at intuit is user friendly in that you can stop & go anytime you want when filling out sections C. Finds a good amount of credits and deductions I never realized existed as a sole proprietorship and money loss. D. Does a good audit/check at the very end so everything appears filled properly E. Cheaper than an accountant for a small business

Cons

A. The tax breaks & credits at the state level sometimes are not always there B. Some sections are a bit confusing but if you cross check the description or on the IRS website it becomes more self explanatory C. Works well for self employed and small business but larger institutions might have more of a headache

### "TUrbo Tax Excellent for Small Business"

December 6, 2019

5.0

Overall, Turbo Tax for Business make tax prep and preparation of a return a breeze. IN less than one day, with only a little advance tax prep, both state and federal returns were done with ease and no stress.

Pros

I am fully confident in the structure, backup and support that Turbo Tax provides for small business owners. Much cheaper that a tax preparer and as a small business owner cost is key to a profitable year. Turbo tax is so simple and easy to use - anyone can do it with confidence that they are getting all the breaks and benefits allowed in preparing a return whether state or federal.

Cons

I filed for an extension last year through Turbo Tax. when I filed the return, it did not include the fee for filing late so it was a small surprise to get bills from both the State and Feds. In this instance, the amount owed was nominal but in another case things could have been different. Would be good for the software to include late fees/interest/penalties or at least to warn you to check with State and Feds regarding this.
