Simple, I save time and am vastly more efficient than if I actually went to a CPA or a tax preparer's office. And if, unlike me, you have a larger business with employees, then it has enough features and tools to help you succeed. I've uses Turbotax Business for many years for a number of businesses. I use it for business planning as well as annual tax forms. Pros I like that Turbotax pulls data in from prior years' returns. I appreciate the visual interface that switches from forms to step-by-step and links to workbooks and data sources. Cons Over the years, Turbotax has limited direct access to relevant information. By 2019 the links and online community help has become a waste of time. There was once a time when the software led directly into the tax code and tax decisions. Long, long ago. I miss it, but soldier on because I know the software and it integrates year by year. Reason for choosing TurboTax Business I am familiar with it. Dont hesitate and just do it! You won't regret it! Pros TurboTax is so easy to use, even if you've never used it before. It literally walks you through filing your taxes from beginning to end. I'm no genius by far and have been using TurboTax to do mine and my husband's taxes every year for the past 5 years or so. It makes it so simple by telling you exactly what information you need for each section of the forms and then you have the option to print and send your forms in or efile. It is reasonably priced and so quick to do! Cons I don't have any complaints about TurboTax at all! They usually go through a series of questions to help you understand whether you fit within certain criteria (i.e. if you owe capital gains by asking whether you've sold a house this year, how much, etc). Also makes life easier with the option to submit taxes via online. Cons I think it would be nice if they could include a simulation for how much you would owe for taxes with hypothetical questions. As of now, it feels like you need certain documents (i.e. W-4 forms) without just guessing what the numbers could be. Review Source JJ James J. Pros With TurboTax Business, I really like how the software is set up and how you can click through your Tax return at your own pace or you can follow along step by step. I also really like that they have a feature where you can flag a section you are working on to make a note to return to later, this saves you having to dig through all the documents to find that same spot again. Cons There are always a bunch of updates that need to be done and I find this sometimes can take a while to download and load up. Most new businesses want to deduct everything that is arguably business-related. Turbo tax helps me limit my possible outlandish "expenses" from becoming a lialbity. Its basic nature is a good asset for a conservative return. Pros This is a great program for small business taxes. It helps explain the definitions and calculations necessary to prepare a tax return while ensuring you do not miss anything and do not take unnecessary risks. I appreciated the program's help applications. Intuit's control of the program has perhaps dumbed it down some. Still, I found this easy to use for a simple LLC business with nothing outlandish to depreciate or otherwise complicate the application. Cons This was my first year using it, so I could not merge or otherwise easily import my data. If it was possible to do, I was not able to easily figure it out. I will use this for future returns and hope the historical data will make the next tax year easier. I was a long-time user of turbo tax, and the continuation was a big reason I stuck with it year after year. Since this is a new business for me, I did not have the luxury of having past years already populated. I no longer dread tax season, instead I'm excited to log into the program, check out the previous years summary, and file my new information. Pros I have been using this software for three tax seasons now and I will never go back. Turbotax is a breeze and I love how you can see your breakdown before you file anything. It is also important that they keep all of your records from previous years. Cons nothing is free- but turbotax can be significantly cheaper than hiring a human tax preparer.
