What I liked least about MyTAXPrepOffice is that, while the system is very powerful, there can be a slight learning curve at the beginning—especially when navigating some of the more advanced features or settings. It may take a little time to fully understand where everything is and how to maximize all the tools available. Additionally, certain workflows and customization options could be more streamlined. At times, a few processes require extra clicks or steps that could be simplified to improve efficiency, especially during peak tax season. That said, these are relatively minor concerns. My overall experience this tax season was frustrating due to repeated system errors and calculation issues. As a professional preparing a high volume of returns, accuracy and reliability are critical. Unfortunately, the software failed in several key areas, particularly with NJ state returns and credit calculations. The SCH-HCC issue alone impacted a large number of filed returns without any clear warning from the system. Combined with EIC and Child Tax Credit miscalculations, this creates serious compliance concerns and potential liability. While the software is easy to use, the lack of reliability and quality control this season outweighs its usability. Significant improvements are needed in calculation accuracy, form validation, and system testing before updates are released.

Pros

The platform is user-friendly and relatively easy to navigate. It offers a straightforward interface for preparing returns, and basic workflows are simple to follow. Integration with bank products like EPS is convenient when it works properly.

Cons

There were multiple critical calculation and form issues during the tax season that impacted accuracy and compliance: 1.Repeated miscalculations on NJ returns, including Earned Income Credit (EIC) and Child Tax Credit 2.NJ SCH-HCC form was not properly generated or required, resulting in approximately over 100 returns being filed without it. 3. Federal SCH 1-A was not included in several returns early in the season resulting in amended tax returns and client refund delays - until now some clients still have not received their refund since early janurary. 4. ncorrect exemption calculations on NJ-1040 after system updates. The system was marking qualified children under 17 as dependent attending to college. 5. Rental loss calculation issues on Massachusetts returns 6. Lack of proper diagnostics or warnings (e.g., missing forms or inconsistent filing statuses) - system allowing HOH filing when the tax payer didnt have a qualified dependent or relative. 7. Delayed or insufficient response to known system issues

I was given a plan where I pay $198 a year and $5 per e-file, the \[sensitive content hidden\] was very interested in my business in the beginning and called me multiple times and answered my phone calls. I advised him of my specific needs in the program and he confirmed all of my needs were within the program. I started using the program and one of the main things which is e-signature is only offered if your client creates a username and password which I specifically told \[sensitive content hidden\] I had in another program and I did not like because my clients are older and they are not tech savvy. I also ended up seeing various fees that later after doing my research come to find out it was also the company charging me for program fees which he did not advise me of and are way over the $5 per e-file that he told me. So far it's been $40 per e-file. He has not had the decency to call me or email me back even though I have emailed him over five times. The customer support level is non-existent, the program is mediocre it does its job but I had to pay a membership with DocuSign so that my clients can sign their documents. The interview format within the program is also mediocre, I would say this program is more for advanced Tax Preps who knows their forms and what form they need for each client, some forms like the office credit under Schedule C does not work and you have to manually input the credit, so there are some bugs as well. I don't see how this company will be able to keep recurring customers with their lack of care and their lack of customer support, I for one will not be a returning customer next year.

Pros

I like that it's cloud-based and online and I can access it from my phone. I'm able to access it from any computer, so if I need to work from my work computer or from my tablet I can do so.

Cons

Customer support and the lies about the price. They are very interested to get you to sign up with them but then they totally disregard you.

I LOVED THE ONE ON ONE SERVICE. THE SALES PERSON WAS PERSISTENT BUT NOT OVERBEARING. ALLOWED ME SPACE TO MAKE MY DECISION. WAS NOT ANNOYED BY MY QUESTIONS. THE TRAINING WAS VERY THOUROUGH WITHOUT IT BEING TOO MUCH. IT WAS CONVENIENT AND INSIGHTFUL HIGHLIGHTING THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE SOFTWARE.

Pros

MyTaxPrepOffice is great! Their payroll system and Income Tax program not the best, however, 70% of the tax forms were user friendly than my prior software provider.

Cons

It would be great if the tax forms had more color coding, example like the red code is remand to fill in the blank while the blue code does not require. Blue code is an optional, however, some of the blue code should be red code to show it is required to avoid IRS rejection

No experience as of yet. I am just starting to use the software.

Pros

It is easy to use and comprehensive. It is also nicely set up so you can progress easily from one step to the other.

Cons

It is not possible to import a W2 or K1 into the software to save time in data input.

Good so far. Training was great and they set up all my information.

Pros

Easy, robust and simple. You have access to all forms, there's notes, there's help.

Cons

Maybe app based version would be better?
