Pros

  • It is wonderful with respect to 3D rendering. There is very little delay in examining a blend which makes it a highly effective investigation procedure that exhibits designs to different workers.

  • The generation of BOM is very helpful , with the help of that we are able to reach the project on time. Lot of time is saved while designing the circuit.

  • When we designing complex designs with SolidWorks Electrical Schemantics we can do it in a great accuracy and also a great quality.

  • The experience is amazing. It does its job correctly and I am thoroughly satisfied with my results every time.

Cons

  • It is the only downside of the software i have found yet.

  • If anything, it has too many parts to the point where it may get frustrating trying to find the correct part you need for your schematic.

  • The UI is terrible, all the buttons I use in my workflow are spread across 3 or 4 tabs, so none are within easy reach.

  • The only disadvantage of this program is that it requires high knowledge of matter, so it is not a pity for beginners.

"SolidWorks helps us to fix our digital designs"

Overall: In case you are looking for a program to model any kind of product prior to the creation of a physical prototype, SolidWorks is ideal to use. It does an excellent job of generating models that are then displayed throughout all departments of a company, especially to the design department. It also helps to share information with different employees or subcontractors involved in a program. There are a greater number of features and ways to customize documents in SolidWorks for users to generate documents. Another benefit is that SolidWorks is significantly more extensive than most other software.

Pros: It also helps to perform CAM functions, this plays an important role in determining the best way to produce products for a company that has little funds to spend on research and development. The keyboard shortcuts make rendering very fast and, as a new company worker, I really appreciate this. It supports me in my job of being efficient and getting designs done quickly. It is wonderful with respect to 3D rendering. There is very little delay in examining a blend which makes it a highly effective investigation procedure that exhibits designs to different workers.

Cons: On the occasion of generating appearances on a blend, the system does not indicate whether the transformation is being done for the blend alone or for the individual piece as well. In the online sketch, there are no figures that allow you to choose the size. You must double click on the original line after drawing it, and then enter the precise size you want to draw.

"Functional but leaves much to be desired"

Pros: Integration with downstream processes in Solidworks Mechanical.

Cons: Some interfaces and dialogue options (in 2023) are not intuitive or easy to use. For example, reordering pin number on an instance connector symbol has no feedback anything is changing until the dialogue is closed.

Alternatives Considered: Siemens NX
Reasons for Choosing SolidWorks Electrical Schematics : Primarily easy of integration with Solidworks (Mechanical), which the team was already using for the project

Overall: EASY, USEFUL & FUN

Pros: IT IS VERY USER FRIENDLY. LEARNING TIME FRAME REQUIRES VERY LESS. SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS OPENS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL DESIGNING, WIRE HARNESSING & HYDRAULICS AND PNEUMATIC DRAWINGS. THE BEST PART IS SOLIDWORKS IS A ECO-SYSTEM. LIKE FROM START TO END PRODUCT YOU CAN USE SOLIDWORKS PORTFOLIO.

Cons: G.A (CABINET) DRAWING CREATION IS VERY CHALLENGING.

Alternatives Considered: E3.series, EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD Electrical

"Good electrical design tool"

Overall: It has help us tp improve the quality of our drawings and has help us to improve the way we manage our projects.

Pros: I really like the way this program manages the parts data base. The best functionality I would talk about is the possibility to create macros that can be used in others projects. You can develop multiusers projects.

Cons: Like the most of this type of software requires training. You'll need a computer with good characteristics to run this software.
