### "SolidWorks helps us to fix our digital designs"

October 8, 2023

5.0

In case you are looking for a program to model any kind of product prior to the creation of a physical prototype, SolidWorks is ideal to use. It does an excellent job of generating models that are then displayed throughout all departments of a company, especially to the design department. It also helps to share information with different employees or subcontractors involved in a program. There are a greater number of features and ways to customize documents in SolidWorks for users to generate documents. Another benefit is that SolidWorks is significantly more extensive than most other software.

Pros

It also helps to perform CAM functions, this plays an important role in determining the best way to produce products for a company that has little funds to spend on research and development. The keyboard shortcuts make rendering very fast and, as a new company worker, I really appreciate this. It supports me in my job of being efficient and getting designs done quickly. It is wonderful with respect to 3D rendering. There is very little delay in examining a blend which makes it a highly effective investigation procedure that exhibits designs to different workers.

Cons

On the occasion of generating appearances on a blend, the system does not indicate whether the transformation is being done for the blend alone or for the individual piece as well. In the online sketch, there are no figures that allow you to choose the size. You must double click on the original line after drawing it, and then enter the precise size you want to draw.

### "Solid Electrical Design Platform "

January 21, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been positive. Whenever I run into an issue, the built‑in tool helps me quickly identify the problem and find a solution

Pros

It is incredibly straight forward to use, it made electrical design for my projects much easier and allowed for a more aesthetically pleasing layout.

Cons

For the professional license it is a bit expensive, however it is well worth the price considering the benifits over similar software packages

### "Functional but leaves much to be desired"

October 11, 2024

2.0

Pros

Integration with downstream processes in Solidworks Mechanical.

Cons

Some interfaces and dialogue options (in 2023) are not intuitive or easy to use. For example, reordering pin number on an instance connector symbol has no feedback anything is changing until the dialogue is closed.

### "PROPER CUSTOMIZATION FOR YOUR ELECTRICAL DESIGN "

August 16, 2019

5.0

EASY, USEFUL & FUN

Pros

IT IS VERY USER FRIENDLY. LEARNING TIME FRAME REQUIRES VERY LESS. SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS OPENS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL DESIGNING, WIRE HARNESSING & HYDRAULICS AND PNEUMATIC DRAWINGS. THE BEST PART IS SOLIDWORKS IS A ECO-SYSTEM. LIKE FROM START TO END PRODUCT YOU CAN USE SOLIDWORKS PORTFOLIO.

Cons

G.A (CABINET) DRAWING CREATION IS VERY CHALLENGING.

### "Good electrical design tool"

June 12, 2021

4.0

It has help us tp improve the quality of our drawings and has help us to improve the way we manage our projects.

Pros

I really like the way this program manages the parts data base. The best functionality I would talk about is the possibility to create macros that can be used in others projects. You can develop multiusers projects.

Cons

Like the most of this type of software requires training. You'll need a computer with good characteristics to run this software.

### "Electrical Schematics in SolidWorks"

January 1, 2019

4.0

I have been quite satisfied mainly because it contains a free flow from concept to machining. But of course the whole package is alot more expensive than individual software like Eagle, etc.

Pros

The best part of this package is that it is a combo. You can combine mechanical design modules with electrical schematics and PCB autorouting. Ultimately, the whole experience goes towards machining where you can us integrated SolidCAM.

Cons

There is not well integration between Solidworks and Altium. For schematics, Solidworks essentially uses the engine of Altium but if you make schematics with more than 1000 parts in Altium, it becomes challenging to import all the footprints in SolidWorks Schematics. I would suggest to start directly in Solidworks instead of importing Altium files.

### "Not Solidworks Quality"

March 25, 2019

3.0

Pros

I like the SQL backend that allows for very customizable reporting and data validation. The ability to batch import and modify data using excel sheets is essential.

Cons

It is obvious that Dassault bought this software and threw the Solidworks coat of paint on top. This software is not on par with Solidworks Mechanical. There are so many missing basic features, such as the ability to center an object between two points - I have to center attributes within symbols by placing two diagonals. The UI is terrible, all the buttons I use in my workflow are spread across 3 or 4 tabs, so none are within easy reach. This software gets the job done, but it is not a fun process.

### "Experiencia con SolidWorks Electrical Schematics "

December 21, 2022

4.0

As I said, I use it to do work for clients, work in the area of Mechanical Engineering, and I always used SOLID for its versatility.

Pros

SOLIDWORKS is in fact a very complete software, which has several very important features. It is a system that needs attention due to its complexity. So it’s not a very easy program, but if you dedicate yourself, you can achieve great results. I use it to carry out the work of several clients. I make drawings of parts, gears, structures and many other things. It is a very versatile software.

Cons

For those who are starting, it may have difficulties, because it is very complex. The price, depending on the package, is somewhat high, if you're going to pay for the best package, to start.
