### "Amazing tool and API"

We're exploring using this tool as part of some alert automation packages, for instance if X job fails then take Y action, if Y action fails run this code to text the on-call support resource. The service is SO cheap for what it offers, but they even offer price breaks for nonprofits!

Pros

This tool was a breeze to configure! We're still experimenting with how we will utilize programmatic SMS and calls, but I was able to sign up for a free trial, setup API access, and write some code to send a SMS in a very short time. I was able to change two lines of that code to send a phone call. Amazing! Their help pages are PACKED with useful information for devs, more companies should have a knowledgebase that is this robust.

Cons

The processing time for their API is lightning fast, but their website is very slow and sluggish. I've used both Chrome and Firefox on two devices and still have the same issue. I found myself waiting around a bit after every click.

Pros

My company is able to send mass informational texts to our customers without a hitch.

Cons

When there is a hitch or we hit our limit, we are rarely notified. It takes 48 hours to increase your quantity of texts. You're killing me, smalls!

Giving clients tha ability to sent notifications to students, parents, and staff quickly and easily. Was easy to implement, had product up and running quickly.

Pros

Easy to integrate, lots of functionality. Logs are useful to get error information. Help desk is friendly and helpful.

Cons

Very pricey, for decent amount of cps. Answering machine detection isn't there yet, having trouble getting it to leave messages appropriately.

Pros

Twilio is an industry leading solution for sending automated SMS, voice calls, and more. The UX is fantastic, the support docs are super clear (Say my developers) and the price is reasonable.

Cons

I haven't run into any shortcomings with Twilio yet. Perhaps the prices for a custom short code phone number could be more affordable?

In general terms, Twilio is a great tool to integrate SMS with your application, I feel like the big ones such are Twitter, Instagram or any other platform that send SMS with confirmation codes and Twilio make it possible.

Pros

Is very useful to interact with your clients or users

Cons

I had some errors/warnings on my debug console but I don't have idea where they come from, would be great if they could give me more information about it

Cons

The prices can at times be a con. Using long-codes and toll-free numbers are affordable. Unfortunately short codes are very pricy.

Pros

Even though I am not a developer, even I can get Twilio services working. I have helped a few local businesses in my area drop the traditional POTS lines and migrate over to Twilio and have heard nothing but great reviews. That platform has even given me the push to sign up for a couple dev classes to get even more out of it.

Cons

Some of the documentation can be extremely vague. I understand that it is made for developers/programmers but there is a big portion of potential users that would love to use some of the features, but just don't have the coding background/knowledge to make it come alive.

### "Reasonably-Priced Programmatic SMS and Voice"

Twilio was one of the earliest players in the programmatic telecommunications services industry, and they have their basic services down to an art. Everything is well-documented, and their APIs in the various programming languages they support are easy to understand and very stable. They offer a free trial of most of their services, and getting started doesn't cost a lot, but once you start using the services heavily, it can increase in cost rapidly if you do not properly plan for the amount of traffic involved. There are other services that do specific individual services better, but if you're looking for an all-around balanced programmatic telecommunications platform, Twilio is probably the best to start with.

Pros

Easy to set up, extensible, supports a variety of programming languages and interfaces, pricing is easy to understand, excellent free trial that allows for testing of most features

Cons

Pricing can jump quickly with advanced usage, still a bit basic in some of its interfaces

Twilio allows us to send marketing messages as well as status messages on orders to our customers. We can control all aspects of text messages programmatically. It also offers a web interface where we can monitor all the activity.

Cons

Sometimes there is a network delay causing customers to receive texts later than expected but it happens rarely.

Pros

Twilio is really easy to use, it has clients for most programming languages and great API documentation. Twilio dashboard lets you analyze calls, messages and its contents, so it's really easy to debug when something goes wrong.

Cons

When using Twilio clients, the API may change and break things when updating. Error messages when the software fails are not custom, so users may be confused when receiving an error call. Twilio is expensive, more so if you're making a lot of calls or sending messages.

They provide all the features you need to reach out your customers, SMS, whats app, email etc. They have wide varieties of features which is sufficient to be one product you need for multiple requirement, you dont need to look out for multiple vendors APIs are wide open and sufficient for easy integration with any technology

Its costly, not suitable for small business , cheap plans are not available , apis are complex to understand

I absolutely love using Twilio, have had zero issues in using the SIP and text messaging on the platform.

Pros

I like the pay as you use service model. I use Twilio for SIP trunks and the cost savings that I have achieved are simply phenomenal. Part of the reason is the SIP trunks, those are cheaper than POTS lines, but the other factor is the pay as you use, unless you are using thousands of minutes a month, the pay as you go model is the way to go!

Cons

If there are errors with connecting to your infrastructure, it's not always apparent (right away) what the problem is.

Send mobile notification, verify phone numbers and send SMS notifications to a wide variety of numbers (including international phones)

Pros

Twilio has expanded so much over the past few years that this is a one-stop-shop for all notification services. They have a wide API to support email, SMS, phone calls, and even native mobile notifications. And the pricing is very competitive and takes the cake for being the best platform to work on. Also, the documentation is excellent.

Cons

I have had no issues with Twilio so far in my use with it. Everything is well documented and works exactly how you expect it to work.

We've used Twilio to power several text messaging applications, some with pretty complex logic and routing.

Pros

If you're thinking about building applications that involve text messaging or voice, Twilio is exactly what you're looking for. Very straightforward API design, plenty of helpful documentation - we had a functioning Twilio app running in no time.

Cons

Pretty minor, but their dashboard UI layout likes to nest certain menus so you have to do a bit of digging sometimes to figure out where a particular setting or piece of information is.

Pros

Set it and forget it, the reminders are automatically sent out as scheduled

Cons

Our only complaint would be the occasional customer who tries to text us back through Twilio and we dont always get it

Years and years of rock solid deliverability at multiple companies. An API that developers know and are able to build features against very quickly.

Pros

The API is solid, it is easy to hire developers who are familiar or even experts with the API. SMS delivery is reliable and easy to troubleshoot when things go wrong.

Cons

Market is crowded and Twilio has many competitors that are much cheaper. However Twilio's API is still a competitive advantage enough using it for.

This tool has been very easy to use, we feared that the integration with our company was a bit difficult but there were no problems, the integration was clean and it has helped us a lot to make reminders between employees and our customers. The best of all is that it works internationally

In general I do not have cons with this platform, as all the software with a good quality presents a high price that would be a problem for certain users, the rest comes well

For multi factor login security we used Twilio API. Its very easy to implement in project. Preety much secure as this authenticates the service by accountSid, auothToken and from cell number. Great API for real time message functionality.

Pros

I like most its real time SMS delivery. Twilio API provides the current status of sent messages. By delivery status we monitored the critical message status to ensure that the responsible party received the SMS or yet not.

Cons

This supports 160 characters for a single SMS. Except that i did not find any issue in this API.
