We've had next to no downtime and very few complaints from our customers about our SMS integration. Cons Before moving to a short code we ran into an issue where carriers were reporting messages as delivered, but customers were not. July 26, 2018 5.0 Creating custom tailored apps on my main home PC that will push SMS to my phone to alert me of various behaviors and activities has been a massive time saver. Thanks to Twilio team for implementing such a headache free SMS solution. Pros Ease of use regarding app integration. Within 10 minutes, I was sending test messages to myself. Very fair pricing model per message and excellent customer support (almost too good) Cons There really isn't much to say negative about the platform. I have only used it in small scale personal apps so I have no idea how the cost and efficiency scales as you start sending thousands or millions of SMS messages to a massive client base but so far so good. After trying all of the compatible solutions, Twilio won hands-down. Their software set is more advanced and easier to use than the other solutions I tried. I absolutely love their TwiML language and the ability to run some TwiML code in their cloud is fantastic. I am able to send out automated and customizable SMS alerts very easily. I am able to easily troubleshoot texts not received and setting up error alerts gives me great confidence in knowing my texts are going through. Pros The ease of use and ability to run TwiML code in their cloud. Cons The learning curve for the web console is a little steep, but once you get through that - the ease of use is great. Even the thought of choosing which provider to go with could leave me in a cold sweat, let alone handle the implementation. So I was doubtful when I plugged Twilio into NuGET and sent the first SMS message. But as it instantly arrived on my phone (prepended with the trial account message) I was left surprised at the ease. Pros \- API packages across the board allow quick and easy integration. - Affordable pricing with volume scaling. - Trial accounts are able to see the technology work in real-time to gain an immediate understanding of what this service provides. Twilio was one of the few choices available but it was so amazing and robust that I would use them for any text message app in the future. Cons Sending text messages from an app is a relatively complex thing to do. It was a little difficult getting started but Twilio's support center and sample code is VERY good. Pros Twilio offers a lot of documentation which makes it easier to get started. The features offered in the programmable voice platform are second to none. You can do pretty much anything you put your mind to. Cons The learning curve is a bit steep to get started. The documentation helps with that, but more scenarios would make it better. Their API is solid and their dashboard is dead simple to use. The cherry on top is a massively generous non-profit grant that allows churches/non-profits to use their product totally free. Also sends notifications to both User and Driver with update relevant to in app data. Cons Initially is was difficult to actually speak to a customer service representative to understand how this software would work with our application. However once i'd received an account handler it was better.
