In generally, companies of any size may stand to gain a significant amount by putting Twilio's powerful communication capabilities into action.

Pros

Twilio allows programmers to effortlessly create and release new forms of communication. Twilio provides a number of application programming interfaces (APIs), software development kits (SDKs), and libraries for adding telephony functionality to software. It also offers a variety of ways to get in touch, including phone, text, video, and electronic mail, so that each user's experience can be tailored to their own needs.

Cons

Until now, I haven't been able to find a single drawback to using Twilio. My interactions with Twilio have always been positive.

### "Outstanding Platform for Businesses Using WhatsApp "

Overall it has been positive so far. We are launching our software globally now and so far they have been a solid partner in the countries we have been going to.

Pros

We used Twilio to be the backbone of custom cross-platform messaging software we built that connects people in different countries around the globe. We used it to send automated messages alerting the users that someone in their area wants to talk to them and then to continue to facilitate the conversations through our software and the WhatsApp API protecting the user's identities. The API was very easy to use. The hardest and most challenging part was getting set up and approved by Facebook to get our WhatsApp numbers. The system tracks if messages were delivered which is great and we can see responses come back in as well, not the message content itself mind you, but that a response was sent. We also leverage their email platform which added another communication platform to our system. All in all, we are excited about our partnership with Twilio and look forward to continuing to work with them.

Cons

The only challenging issues we had really involved WhatsApp and getting them to verify our Facebook Business listing, then approve us for a WhatsApp number and finally approve our message templates so we could use Twilio to send messages through their platform. I wouldn't say any of that was Twilio's fault and their staff was excellent at doing everything they could to help us. The only thing I would like to see is a better more laid out navigation on their admin dashboards. You have to click into menus to get to a sub menu to then scroll around and try to find what you are looking for. It would be nice if they had a master link tree like Amazon does on their AWS dashboard.

Overall I had a great experience with Twilio. As a salsa professional, it checked all of the boxes for my team and I. We could record calls with ease, received awesome call quality, and made our lives very easy.

Pros

I really liked how we could call off of our work laptops and have the same quality as my cell phone. This allowed me to have the client data in front of me without worrying about my phone!

Cons

I have no complaints about Twilio! It was a great service.

An amazingly well built product -- we rarely if ever had reliability issues -- the Twilio Functions were an especially useful post-purchase feature discovery -- so much so that we still use that even though we don't do any texting. We also sometimes use FracTEL, since they beat Twilio on pricing 3:1 for 1-800 texts \*and\* had MMS 1-800 support long before Twilio.

Pros

\* super easy to configure multiple accounts for billing purposes \* \* Twimlets are a great way to experiment with product &/or prototype quickly - https://www.twilio.com/labs/twimlets \* Twilio functions is amazingly easy way to either extend power of tools such as Zapier &/or avoid having to use AWS Lambda, etc. -- it's a super cool hidden feature - https://www.twilio.com/docs/runtime/functions \* They have an auto-stop feature if you accidentally send too fast -- e.g., we accidentally created an infinite loop of texts between two phone numbers -- which they auto-stopped at about $20 (in three minutes). There are likely other Twilio features hiding in plain sight -- poke around -- one of those rare cases where reading all the documentation is likely worth it

Overall, great customer service from purchasing through implementation. This was our team’s first SMS implementation and it was near seemless working with our CSM and available resources.

Pros

It did not take much development to go-live with our Twilio implementation. Our Marketing team was able to design campaigns and sends in no time.

Cons

Two-way requires an additional tool in order to capture response and attribute to appropriate lead. Our current use case was for one-way, but we may have to revise as requirements evolve.

Pros

There are so many things to love about Twilio from my experience and perspective. I like the quality of its documentations and how intuitive they are. I find their customer service team very responsive to queries and inquiries and I love how Twilio has SDK's in my favorite programming language.

Cons

Twilio boasts 99.9% uptime and it supports all major programming languages. Personally for me , Twilio is head and hand above every other sms/voice cloud communication platform.

Wonderful people, always replay within a few hours of my late-night support emails. Reducing the bills is fantastic, and the tool plugs and plays with everything else nicely. Super happy with them for sure!

Pros

Love their COSTS... Some of the lowest in the industry, gives better control of budget. Utilizing Twilio we were able to navigate away from other tools that were costing us hundreds of dollars a month in per minute or per text overage fees. Provides more numbers at a cheaper cost per month by far, the whole system is powerful, inclusive, integrative of all tools and solutions through zapier and webhooks, and just a powerful system.

Cons

The UXI is a little heavy, when creating sub accounts and viewing the analytics, it is so powerful you can get lost, but that is a very minimal issue for I am sure someone with more knowledge can fly through the site and know what they are looking for much faster.

Twilio allows control, other products basically are using Twilio, 2 times to 5 times the price, and charging you more while limiting you. With Twilio, you get no limits, the near best pricing on the market, and a powerful system that allows you to grow.

Good platform overall

Pros

Some of the advantages of using Twilio were:1. The first 2000 contacts are free of cost. This makes it pocket-friendly and also helps to try out a smaller-scale pilot run. 2. It helps companies connect and make meaningful relationships with users internationally. 3. Setting up the platform is extremely easy. The transition of a user to set up the platform and start using is relatively quick and smooth. It was quite easy to integrate wth other platforms and apps as well. 4. It was very useful as we used it for IVR - both nationally and internationally for our clientele. 5. It is quite reliable because a lot of huge MNCs use Twilio like Uber, AirBnB, Reddit., Lyft, etc.

Cons

There are a few things that could have been better about the platform:1. Since the organization is growing and is quite large, during the integration of the platform, we did need some support and assistance from their team. They did respond but it did take a while, the process was slightly slower than expected. 2. Once you scale, you would ofcourse require to send more messages with increased customisation to enhance the customer UX. I presume that this would begin to be an expensive option in due course of time and we may need to switch to a cheaper alternative.

Through Twilio we're able to quickly reach out to customers, either via normal messaging or campaigns. We love the campaigns feature which has enabled us another channel for product promotion.

Pros

Messaging our customer through Twilio is very simple and straight-forward, we also love how this integrates with our CRM to visualize real-time communication with our customers.

Cons

During the A2P 10DLC process it was very tedious to register all our Twilio numbers, but we believe this was only a one-time thing and got through it.

We have been able to deploy a whole Marketing Center, phone automation with payments systems. Call recording for training, conferences and waiting lines.

Pros

The service has many good features, the guides are easy to use and you can start deploying from day one. The Studio flow helps a lot if you do not have knowledge of programming, the customer service is also great. There is a lot you can do with Twilio no matter the size of your business.

Cons

It can be overwhelming because the tons of features, is it much better if you at least know for sure what you want to start

### "Amazing powers - not for anyone"

We did our transfer from Dialpad to Twilio after seeing the price difference + all the missing options (automation and integration) Dialup was missing. We faced a huge issue when we realized we had to code our own phone system to be able to receive or send sms and calls. Happened at a moment where the firm didn't have the time to read the 3000 pages tutorial offered on Twilio. Our transfer made our whole phone system out of service for 3 weeks. We finally found other companies offering what Twilio should offer : a basic interface to the basic needs of a phone number (call + sms). This workaround finally made the deal much less advantageous than expected. We now pay almost the same price as we were paying with Dialpad, for a less powerful interface.. until we have the time to focus on building our own app to use it.

Pros

Twilio can do absolutely everything you need to do with a phone number. Automate, Record, SMS, Call, Chatbot, Integrations, Number verification.

Cons

Very complex to setup. You absolutely NEED to know how to code. No easy user software available to simply use your number from day 1.

It's working for us, and I don't think I'd move, as I assume we would have similar problems with other text message vendors and they'd have less clout than Twillio would when it comes to solving the problem.

Pros

A powerful telephony software that only charges you for resources you use. This works great for us, as we don't currently need a massive amount of resources. It powers all our text message needs on our internal software platforms.

Cons

The only problem we've faced is several carriers have started blocking non-standard TLD links. No failure, not message, the text messages disappear into the ether. Twillio has been less than useless in helping solve this (I suspect because our usage is so low they don't really care) I feel like this is a really niche problem that won't affect a lot of potential users, so I've still rated them fairly high and would probably recommend them too.

Pros

We used Twilio since 2018 (an eternity in the software world). Good API and mostly without any big technical issues.

Cons

There was a big fraud/spam issue on our account. We are pretty sure it was not our fault. But things happened and we lost about 900$ due credit card charging (still no refund from Twilio). Contacted the support but we got only some general advices and they insisted that it was our fault. And apparently it was more important for them that we "Confirm that you will not be disputing the charges with your bank" then finding a solution. After 2 months without any progress, we decided to Switch to Amazon. Our first impression: great support from Amazon!

I have been using Twilio for our project for more than 2+ years and it offers a great range of API's for integrating video calls, voice calls and translation services, scheduled SMS and emails and many more.

Cons

Developers should carefully understand their system before making modifications.

Overall we like and will continue to use Twilio. We used it for a small side business and was easy to work with. My developer liked using it though it seemed like the only option out there at the time.

Pros

Simple to use product (as an end user) that seems to usually work and has the options we need.

Cons

It's still a VOIP phone service so every so often the sound quality is perfect and it's gone down like any phone service can.

En general es una herramienta poderosa y bastante util, tienes en ella todos los canales de comunicacion posibles como la llamada, videollamada, mensaje o chats.

Pros

Una gran herramienta que ha llevado a otro nivel las comunicaciones tanto empresariales, como la comunicacion de las cosas ( el internet de las cosas) y la conectividad a nivel global pudiendo con un sola Sim estar en contacto en cualquier parte del mundo.Para mi la mayor ventaja es la internacionalizacion de las comunicacion básicas, lo ha sabido hace muy buen con la incorporacion de grandes compañias.

Cons

Entre los contras hay algunos pequeños detalles que parece poca cosa pero al usuario medio a lo mejor no tanto, como que no tenga aplicacion para movil, que solo este disponible en ingles o que no sea posible convertir el texto en voz.

He usado twilio para el envio de forma masiva mensajes de texto y whatsapps a usuarios en camapañas de marketing, así como para grabar llamadas y la experiencia en general es bastante buena. Es una gran plataforma de comunicación.

Pros

Es muy configurable y mediante el uso de su api puedes integrante perfectamente con la herramienta mediante código. La documentación es muy clara y concisa, y además de toda la comunidad que lo usa tiene un servicio técnico excelente que resuelven tus dudas de forma muy ágil.

Cons

Algo que añadiría como punto negativo sería su precio, aunque creo que a la larga si lo sabes utilizar bien se acaba amortizando y gracias a la opción de descuento por compromiso de uso puedes obtener descuentos.

I usually don't leave reviews but I am so upset of how Twilio treated me and my business that I feel an obligation to do so. Twilio has very bad customer service. If your app, website or product depends on its service like API or SMS, I would look somewhere else like Plivo or other service providers. Twilio suspended my account for weeks on an error through their system and through numerous emails, they took their time to unsuspend it while my business was being damaged every day by it. I would never recommended Twilio to any businesses or consumers.

Pros

There is nothing much to like about Twilio.

Cons

Twilio has real bad customer service and not reliable platform for businesses that depend on API and SMS for their businesses.

Affreux, aucun service technique réellement à votre écoute, aucune réponse valide, le service commercial vous réponds simplement au bour de 1 mois que les tarifs annoncés dégréssifs pour l'envois de sms ne le sont en réalité pas ! Le coût du sms est plus du double par rapport à mailjet que je conseille fortement du coup.

Pros

Soit disant un tarif dégréssif. Au bout de près de 1 mois nous obtenons enfin une réponse mais nous indiquant que le tarif ne change pas que ce soit pour l'achat de 1000 ou 10 000 sms !!! Cela était indiqué l'inverse pourtant.Service technique incompétent. Avec ma société nous tentons de trouver une solution pour encoder un sms depuis plus de 1 mois et malgré une quizaine de réponses par mail nous indiquant des réponses qui n'ont rien à voir avec la demande la réponse n'est pas encore trouvée !!!!Vous êtes livré à vous-même, avec un tarif d'envoi de sms à un coût exorbitant et en plus avec seulement 50 caractères au lieu de 70 habituellement afin de vous faire régler deux sms !!! Le tarif dégréssif promis n'existe pas en réalité donc Twilio est à déconseiller très fortement.

Mensonges sur la tarification dégréssive !Sms de 50 caractères au lieu de 70 !!Livré à vous même car ils ne vous donnent aucune réponse valable donc catastrophique

Authy by Twilio is a run-of-the-mill 2FA app. There's nothing special about it. It works when you're not switching your hardware.

Cons

Customer Support is only available by email, not by phone, and it takes 1-3 days to hear back from them. I was in the process of integrating their OneTouch functionality into a software program I'm designing, and I finally found out why no one else integrates it. It's busted and when you go to click the "Accept" or "Reject" buttons, it gives you an error. Authy support said to reinstall my Authy app, and now I can't get back into the app until 2 days later because of their overbearing security. They refuse to get me out of the bind, and I'm unable to access any of my accounts until they lift the hold. I've learned my lesson and I'm going to use LastPass so they can't hold my accounts hostage anymore for their nefarious purposes.
