My overall experience with telegram has been fantastic. This app is easy to function and the quality is superb. I have been using telegram from a long time and always used to send photos and videos through it to my friends. I love using telegram and it fun to text using this app.

Pros

Telegram is a really good app and it is very easy to use. There are many fun GIFs and stickers that makes chatting more fun and interesting. It is almost free and the quality of messages, shared photos and videos is unmatchable. Group chatting and team communication is very easy through telegram.

Cons

Everything about telegram is okay. I do not have anything negative about it. I never used customer support and never faced any bugs or issues.

Most versatile app to use across devices for data sharing and communication. I have been using it for my work for more than 2 years and it rarely disappointed. In certain occasions it fails to send multiple files if its not selected from within the app, like when we select multiple files from our device and choose telegram to share it.

Pros

Telegram has the most privacy in any social media platform in the market now that provide similar service. The mandatory requirement of a phone number similar to WhatsApp limits fake accounts to an extend. It can be accessed from multiple devices at he same time making it very flexible and handy.

Cons

The search option seems to be a bit inefficient, the key words does not always fetch desirable results, even when we type in a word to search in our conversations, it always shows something totally unrelated. That aspect I think would be better to take reference from WhatsApp or even Instagram.

I used to only use WhatsApp, but since I tried Telegram, I found it indispensable and now It is one of the apps that I have in all my devices. I actually use both WhatsApp and Telegram together because most of my contacts use WhatsApp, I'd entirely switch to Telegram if everyone can a switch.

Not good. Every time I've used it a scammer has used it to try and get me signed up for a fake job or other scam.

Pros

It's easy to use and has all the basic features and they work the same way as they do in other apps so there's no learning curve.

Cons

It's where all the scammers go to do their business. So I don't trust Telegram one bit because they allow all this fraud to go on and their reporting process does nothing.

My experience with telegram has been mostly great. It allows me to share and receive large files, keep my activity private and also offers cloud sync. I use it mostly for my personal use, but sometimes also official where it helps in sharing important documents with colleagues.

Pros

Best thing about it is that it accepts large file sizes, which some other messaging applications does not have.

Cons

Customer support as not as good as compared to other similar apps

Overall it's a very good messaging app ,Its cloud-based storage and cross-platform availability is a very beneficial feature .

Pros

The thing I liked the most about telegram was its strong focus on private and security as it offers ene to end encryption. I am able to send huge files easily to my friends and colleagues.

Cons

I didn't liked the notification system of telegram , because it failed to notify me of some important messages. Some features are a bit hard to understand for new users .

Overall my experiences and very positive the strengths definitely outweigh the minor issues and it delivers exactly what I expected sometimes even more with a bit of requirement it could be close to perfect what does it stands it's still solid and enjoyable experience.

Pros

What I like most is how smooth and reliable the experience has b everything works the way it should everything is clean and I never feel like I'm wasting time it's fast easy to use it honestly just makes things simple definitely worth recommending.

Cons

They're only downside is it a few features still limited or could be more polished and nothing major but there are moments where it feels like things could run a bit smoother or be more intuitive still it doesn't take away from the overall experience.

Its a little dated as the system has the esthetics of an old style chatting system. I would make the looks a little more modern

I’ve used Telegram for more than 3 years for daily communication, seeking news from channels and group discussions. It’s powerful and better than many other apps in terms of features. But their lack of proper customer service and sudden bans can really affect trust. I still use it, but I hope they improve their support in future.

Pros

Telegram is fast, reliable, and works on all devices. I like that it allows large file sharing, secret chats, and unlimited cloud storage. The channels and groups are very helpful for learning, business, and entertainment.

Cons

Telegram sometimes bans phone numbers without clear reasons, and their support team doesn't respond when users appeal or ask for help. This makes it risky to rely on it as your main messaging app.

I like most about Telegram that it’s free, stable, versatile and widespread service working as both desktop program and mobile app on any OS.

Cons

I hate how internal options of Telegram work (e.g. search, extra account creation/deleting, channel search and setting). It takes so much time to find or setup something, one is easily running into frustration while doing setups or searching how to do them.

In general, Telegram offers more security and privacy than WhatsApp. Both come at a cost, one with our personal data and the other with a premium subscription.

Pros

I like how fast and smooth the app is in both versions. Messages arrive super quickly, I can share all kinds of content, and there’s no blocking.

Cons

Receiving constant notifications from channels can be annoying, and there’s no way to turn all of them off by default, I do one by one.

### "Do Not Trust Telegram"

Telegram needs to be held accountable for its actions. I have had an account with them for over 18 months now with the same phone number. I have always used it for the same things - following tech related groups and channels and participating in related discussions with software developers and Android enthusiasts. I have never broken the rules or violated the Terms of Service in any way. On October 24, 2024, in the middle of a conversation with my girlfriend (yes, my real-life in person girlfriend), I was automatically logged out of my account and informed that my number had been banned. I used the Help button in the app, I filled out the official support form, I email recover@telegram.org. I waited. I researched. I tried again. I messaged them on X. I talked with Claude.AI who helped me try things like contacting Telegram employees on LinkedIn, contacting my cell provider, checking to see if I had been placed on a spam list, filing a complaint with the FCC, etc. I waited, and tried again. Despite everything I've done, not only has my account remained banned with no explanation of why, Telegram has completely ignored me. Because I post to them on Twitter, I have been the victim of fake tech support scammers trying to get me to pay for a Telegram unban. By behaving in this way, Telegram is not only violating their own policies, but squashing free speech and the right to gather peacefully. They are creating a space for innocent people to BE scammed by hackers claiming to be able to reverse bans. This is unacceptable and must stop.

Pros

Before 10/24/24, I thought Telegram was great because you could be part of groups and channels related to your interests and engage directly with software developers.

Cons

Telegram bans phone numbers for absolutely no reason and not only refuses to unban them but completely stonewalls you. If they decide to ban your number - which they do arbitrarily and capriciously - you will lose everything you've done on their platform, including any money in your Telegram wallet, and you will never hear from them again.

I don't use it much often. But sometimes I will see something on Instagram and then click the link to bring to telegram, most times to see what the link is all about. But it's a pretty decent app. Knowing about the non-end to end encryption is crazy.

Pros

you are able to have a sense of privacy (to a certain degree, unless choosing another option which will be explained below). Specifically depending on the intention of using telegram, supergroups can be formed, going well above 200,000 members.

Cons

One may think that this app is similar to another like WhatsApp, but it is simply not. Unlike WhatsApp, telegram does not provide end to end encryption - unless you open up a secret chat. Finding out that your conversations are out in the open if the FEDS do get past this new ruling of allowing a back door to users encrypted data - will be putting us "innocent users" at risk.
