I LOVE using Power Diary! It is user friendly, I have been able to automate lots of paperwork stuff and it just makes my intake process so smooth. I have definitely recommended Power Diary to my fellow colleagues.

The pricing is fair so I can't really complain.

I am not solving any business problems, but love the convenience of being able to remote in from any device anywhere to access it.

Pros

I am not an IT person and I can use the product easily. It makes simple sense. Little features to help make it more timely for all.

Cons

It assumes everyone sees different people. Which mans if I put a referral into persons A diary and person B is seeing the same person, the can not set settings for their use, only the main diary persons use. So each time the client comes in, they have to change their settings and billing options and referrals. It can confuse medicare to no end.Though this is said to be a a modification for the future. As the other diaries in our system are contractors I would have liked to be able to have the option to calculate a split fee from it as all the finances, i.e. who has been paid, what is outstanding, is in the system, but it will not allow this.

Hi Kim, Thanks for your great review and feedback! Regarding different providers serving the same client, the system should automatically pull all the right Medicare provider information based on the diary the client was booked into. When submitting a Medicare claim you're also able to select a different referral as needed from the dropdown list without needing to change the client's overall billing or referral setup. Excellent! Very happy. Saves me enough time to make private practice worth while.

Pros

It’s just practical... it takes care of Medicare and DVA, it manages my invoices and when ever I have a problem I can just call the support team.

Cons

I work alongside my peers in the same building under the same brand but we keep our businesses separate. So I’d like it to talk to my colleagues in practice, but without sharing the finance component. That’s not easy to set up which is a pain.

One option if your businesses operate separately would be to split your combined account into separate accounts. We can help with this and can also set you up with a special login system which would enable each of you to access each other's accounts, but remain in control the level of access. Power Diary is my virtual business partner! As a sole trader I need a CRM that I can trust, one that gives me the functionality necessary to manage my diary, client communications and financial reporting. PD gives me all this plus insights, trends and the ability to view my business from every angle, and help inform direction and investment.

Very positive - many of us feel a little nervous of new tech systems but we have found Power Diary easy to use and have plans to extend it's use within our organisation.

Pros

Easy to manage appointments, love the reminders and flexibilty. Great system for all the team to use and will improve our record keeping.

Cons

Would like it to synch both ways with our Google calendars

Overall I have really found Power Diary helpful to manage my practice.

Pros

I like the ease of use and all of the automated functions. I like knowing that everything is safely in one place and that functions such as invoice distribution and chasing are so easily managed

Cons

I am not fond of the telehealth system, but that is fine as I use another system already.

I have felt significantly more professional using Power Diary from the invoicing, to e-mailing letters and communication to referrers and colleagues. Although my business is small, having a professional software practice management system has been a great investment.

Pros

I found Power Diary very easy to use and was able to navigate myself quite easily through setting up my practice information. Have been amazed at all the different integrations and functionality within the system which has been great. Has been a great time saver for me.

Cons

Would have liked some initial training or a phone call initially to assist with some of the difficult questions. I understand I could have requested this but I found I had to do a lot of "self study" which was more time consuming than just asking a real person a question. Its easier and more user friendly to talk to someone rather than type all your questions in a chat box.

Have used powerdiary since 2015 lot better than other providers in terms of service delivery

Pros

1 Mobile support is very handy at times. 2 Medicare online billing and credit card support is outstanding which avoids late payments. 3 Customized user setups are very handy.

Cons

1 Down server at times without prior warning especially on busy weekdays. 2 Could have improved with the browsing buffer rate by using better bytes per ratio capabilities.

Power Diary staff are very quick to respond and help with any problems whether it be user error or system error.

Pros

I love how Power Diary has introduced texting through the system with our clients. It makes communication faster and easier than phoning.

Cons

I don't think charging for the texting through the system feasable. Texting through any phone provider is free , not to be charged per word/character.

Thanks for your review Chris. We'd love it if we could provide free texts as well. Unfortunately, whilst most phone companies are willing to include texts in their monthly phone plans, it's a different story when it comes to sending and receiving from applications like Power Diary. The messages need to go via a secure SMS gateway that interfaces across all the phone networks. Phone companies charge the gateways for access to their networks for each message sent, which is why practice management systems (or other applications with SMS functionality) will have a small per message charge. It's great to hear though that you are enjoying the time-saving benefits of Power Diary's text message functions!

We have solved all our timetabling difficulties and sharing information dilemmas easily.

Pros

I love that you can do so many things in one program. You can schedule clients, set up automatic texts, send emails and letters, invoicing, store files and so much more. For a small private practice it's great to be able t add multiple users and write our progress notes straight in the one place. We can access stored files for shared clients and you can access it from so many places. Also love how easy it is to get help when things go wrong :)

Cons

That the view keeps changing (It's great that you can switch things around though and that it isn't changed all at once). Other than that everything is great!

Need note security. One personal trainer should not be able to see another personal trainers client notes.

Pros

One of the best features is the customisable clinic note templates. Being able to create clinic note for each type of patient and each interaction has made my patient management so much easier. Automated appointment reminders and communication templates add a professional touch that my patients appreciate.

Cons

At the moment the only credit card payment system PowerDiary integrates with is Stripe. Adding integration with other payment systems such as Square would make it easier to manage credit card payments.

Pros

Powerdiary is an easy interface to use, with all the basic functions required for calendar bookings and management software for health professionals. It allows for efficient booking and communication with clients.

Cons

As a standalone software it works well. However the linking process with Xero has major room for improvement and is not linked with the governments My Health Record.

We are watching the My Health Record adoption and utilisation patterns closely . There have been issues with the uptake and utilisation rates of this which the government are working on. I don't have any double handling...I can email clients and other health professionals straight from the software which links to the respective client's file.

Pros

Tailored client note functions, easy accounting with feeds to Xero, and a willingness to look at adaptations to suit the needs of my business. Also, support by Australian's which is thorough, quick and friendly. Client Portal

Still a few aspects of the note forms requiring changes to make extra helpful notes for my clinic.

Main feature that we liked is the integration with Xero which enables us to be exact with our accounts and in a time efficient manner.

Pros

Offers a comprehensive platform for client management, reports and accounts.

Cons

Main feature that is lacking is the inability to select diary slot timings for individual practitioners. We offer 5min reviews to hour long appointments between different practitioners. The one size fits all for all practitioners makes it difficult to see some of the diaries with shorter time slots.Also, when you print out the diary, it has client data that on it that means the print out has to be shredded after, apart from snipping, there is no way to not have this data on the printed diary.

We are a specialist respiratory and sleep medicine practice with 10 physicians. We use powerdiary for all of our appointments and billing. It integrates seamlessly with medicare for our billing, is intuitive, fast, with an excellent team behind it always ready to respond to our queries and cater to our needs. We love it and would recommend it without hesitation.

Pros

Easy to use, intuitive, fast, much simpler than any other practice management software. Very responsive team always willing to engage, field queries and respond to our needs.

Cons

We don't have any issues with Power diary. We have found it meets all our needs.

Power Diary saves us so much time and money. The SMS function is saving us so much time as we aren't getting caught on the phone to clients. Invoicing procedures are relatively easy. Anything that saves us time saves/makes us money.

Pros

Once you have become familiar with the software, it is very easy to use. The support from the help desk is incredible.

Cons

It can take a long time to adjust to new changes, and some bits and pieces feel a bit clunky. For example the way that the communication templates have to be saved as a draft, to be exported. Or the way that we need to 'download' the receipt to be able to print it. It's just double handling.

### "Great service, easy to use, but a little clunky"

Pros

\- Customer service is quick as they are available straight away on the online chat so you can keep working and have questions asked/problems solved without having to sit on the phone

Cons

\- Odd things will happen about 1-2 times a month. Today we have opened our program to find all the cancelled appointments have disappeared from the diaries - It would be great if it was integrated with HICAPS ( I hear this is on the way)

Just click on the three little dots on the top-right of your calendar and you'll see an option to 'Show / Hide Cancelled Appointments'. You can change this anytime and your browser will remember your preference so you don't have to keep selecting this. If you have any questions though please let us know. - Damien

I use virtual reception, so I couldn't live without power diary.

Pros

I liked working with Power Diary in the beginning with Damien. I feel that it is less personal now but it is still a good service. I like being able to combine my google calendar and also transfer to Xero.

Cons

Some things that I live with but don't quote like are: 1) that you can't do packs without it showing on the invoice. I want the information of what I am up to but I don't like the client feeling that they are needing to complete 10 sessions if they don't want. 2) no workable option for waitlisting appointments on particular days. 3) that the cancelled or rescheduled appointments still show up. I want to still ave a record of these but it is confusing on the page. I often find reception don't fill those spots because they look full.

It's an affordable and practical practice management system.

Pros

It is functional, able to take care of a number of ongoing processes which facilitates running of a psychological practice.

Cons

Changes to system are not always for the better. Presently, if a client has had a late cancellation, flagging this erases the appointment. In the past, other changes have been made which have made the program more cumbersome to use. Some new additions have been helpful such as packs.

We are extremely satisfied with the service we have received from the Powerdiary teams, both support and online help and will not hesitate to recommend this software to other psychological practices looking for the best software.

Pros

Your teams have made the transition from our old software to yours, highly efficient and we are very grateful for the customer service received.

Cons

We predomintely bill each of our organisations for their months sessions and there is no way to do this, other than using statements, which I can't then match payments against. The statements then show individual invoice numbers, which is highly confusing for my third party billers. A statement isn't an official Tax Invoice for accounting purposes either, so I have to rename the statements as a Tax Invoice each time I send one. Which for over 70 organisations is quite a few every month. The ability to be able to bill thrid parties would be a game changer for our practice.

We nearly chose Halaxy, but a psychologist recommended to use the free trial for Powerdiary and once I used it, I loved it's ease of use and functionality.

As a sole trader, Power Diary allows me to spend more time focussing on my clients whilst keeping up to date with appointments, record keeping, filing, bookkeeping and managing client relationships quickly and effectively throughout the day. As a business owner the reporting features allow me to access key data which helps me make astute business decisions.

Pros

The support. When I have a question, problem or challenge, help is always on hand as soon as I ask for it. The assistance provided is always relevant and effective, and on the rare occasions I want to do something that is not available that is quickly identified so no wasting time trying to do the impossible. All those things to date have been implemented in upgrades, so they really do listen!

Cons

It can’t do the washing up, the laundry, the vacuuming and dusting, nor can it put out the rubbish. ;D

No comparison between our old paper diary system and Power Diary! The ability to access from anywhere, see details of diary entries for multiple practitioners, and instant notification of updates to appointments are invaluable.

Pros

Power Diary is extremely easy to use, allowing for easy client scheduling and reminder contact via sms. Simple, intuitive interface that has many powerful features and can keep track of a wealth of information. Love the fact that I can check for changes to my schedule from my laptop, phone, and iPad. Invoicing and payment records are easily accessible and there are a number of useful summary reports that can be run. An invaluable tool for our clinic.

Cons

No real cons of note! Only issues have been when internet has been down or very rare issues from Power Diary's end of things, technically speaking.
