Action1 Reviews
Pros
Once I added our domain, the computers started showing up in the dashboard immediately. It has an excellent suite of tool that helps the IT department save time.
There's a clear and comprehensive development roadmap and the up to 100 devices for free model is amazing - incredibly useful for small businesses and/or trialling the system.
Very fair pricing and simple to set up. The real-time updates in the GUI are impressive and there looks to be some rapid and useful development underway.
AWESOME support and very quick to help. The cost is amazing!!! The tool is easy to deploy and very easy to maintain.
Cons
The Remote Desktop feature is missing the option for file transfers and chat but both are on the roadmap for future updates. The agent is currently only available for Windows.
No native Chat Client to communicate with the user.
I think some of the information can be hard to find, or you have to drill down. For example finding if a machine has low disk space.
I also was limited to one login for an administrator at first but that was opened up recently to more than one.
"Easy to use and manage!"
Overall: I have used Action1 for a couple of years now. When I first started using it, there was a lot to be desired. However, the development team has been working to bring new features to the program.
Pros: Action1 makes it easy. You install the agent on your client PCs and then you can start managing. Very easy to get automated patching and vulnerability management set up.
Cons: No iOS compatibility as of June 10th, 2024. Road map says that it is coming though.
"A fantastic entry into the RMM environment"
Overall: The business model for Action1 is fantastic, the 100 free endpoints forever was a fantastic hook to get us to give the product a go and from there we have been using it daily for years. When our company outgrew the 100 endpoint limit, it was a no brainer to sign up to for a paid plan and the pricing is extremely competitive. We trialed other products, most of which were very expensive, usually because they include PSA or other "addons" which we just do not need as a business.
Pros: The deployment agent was incredibly easy to install and within minutes all of our online endpoints had been onboarded onto the platform. The remote control tool, while basic is by far the most reliable tool i have used on an RMM platform and have never had issues connecting to and endpoint. The inbuilt reports are fantastic and the ability to create a custom report from basically any dataset that is captured by Action1 has been brilliant. For us the best part has been the ability to upload our custom enterprise application installers and provide the correct flags, switches and post install scripts to run automatically on endpoints, it took setting up a new work station from a multi-hour job, to a few clicks.
Cons: The user interface is a little but clunky in places and there are a few QOL features that could be improved upon, such as ability to customise the visible columns on the Endpoint overview, or easily view which endpoints are currently not allocated to a group. Though most of the issues i have are minor and some are in progress to be deployed in their roadmap.
"A centralised IT management platform with automated maintenance functionality"
Overall: Easy to use .Supports quicker maintainence of remote system compared to traditional methods while using action1 rmm
Pros: Easy to use for endpoint management Supports schedule based automated maintenance of servers and connected workstation Very effective in remote desktop and unattended access.
Cons: Ui looks a bit outdated and requires a ramp up Connection is found to break at times reducing overall reliability
Vendor Response
"A perfect solution for simple patch management"
Overall: My overall experience with Action1 has been very positive. The platform is incredibly easy to set up and use, making it accessible even for those with limited technical expertise. The free offering for up to 100 endpoints is a huge plus, especially for small businesses looking to manage their patching needs without incurring additional costs. The real-time vulnerability assessment and comprehensive patch management ensure that all systems are up-to-date and secure. However, the lack of support for macOS and Linux is a drawback. Despite these minor cons, Action1 is a powerful and efficient tool for managing endpoint security. I'd highly recommend as this product it is what I required in terms of patch management solution, unlike alternative products where they have multiple products in 1 solution which is too much and costly for features not required.
Pros: I liked the fact it monitors vulnerabilities near real time which helps us address and remediate them. It helps me patch Windows and 3rd party applications with ease as is quite user-friendly. Public roadmap with voting feature helps us know what is being prioritized in terms of features and new releases.
Cons: No integration with Intune or App, I needed to create a Win32 app which isn't too much of a big deal but could be better in that sense. Limited to Windows at the minute although MacOS is due soon and Linux in the near future as per their roadmap.
"Action 1 is so friendly software"
Overall: i like action1 software because it's so very easy to use like in remote update machine and also you can check all of your asset like inventory and machine specs
Pros: Remoting agents is so easy unlike to other software and it is easy to deploy updates
Cons: endpoints remote, monitoring, auto update
