### "Indispensable Tool"

October 1, 2025

5.0

Very positive. Our account manager has worked with us and been very helpful making sure we find the bits of the product we need.

Pros

Very easy to setup, both with the agent deployment and with being able to dynamically group endpoints. We've found the remote support tools indispensable and being able to run PowerShell scripts against endpoints remotely has greatly improved our response to issues. No more running around or remoting around to get simple fixes applied, just send out a script automation. Update approval has streamlined the deployment of windows and software updates across the network giving visibility into where those updates are not applying correctly.

Cons

It feels like with the wealth of information it gives that some more critical vulnerabilities might get missed amongst the back log. For example one laptop has come out of a cupboard and tripped 500+ vulnerabilities which then hides the ones that work the other way and effect 500+ computers.

### "Amazing free patch management and software/script deployment! Don't turn this one down."

August 20, 2025

5.0

I've been using Action 1 for over a year and I can't speak highly enough of this tool. I've previously used WSUS, GoTo Resolve and SuperOps and Action 1 is simpler, more reliable and provides a progress status (unlike lots of the others where you deploy an update and only know how it's gone when you've left it for two days to be sure, then find it hasn't deployed etc.). The ability to deploy software and create custom software deployments is great. There is a feature to upload the msi, so it will deploy over the internet and doesn't rely on a network or connected cloud storage such as onedrive etc. We have an in-house msi package and we can release a new version which is immediately identified as an update alongside the standard windows updates and application updates. I prefer our other remoting in tools, but action 1 having the ability to remote in has been a life-saver on more than one occasion when other methods have failed. It also links in to Active Directory so will auto deploy agents making it really slick. Love this tool, can't fault it.

Pros

It is a reliable free tool (up to 200 devices) for patch management, software deployment and script deployment. It has tools to remotely access devices too. Easy to use, clear interface and doesn't cost a penny for sub 200 users. Setup is really easy too.

Cons

Nothing, this is a great product throughout. If I was being fussy I'd say some people might think the interface is a little bland.

Reason for choosing Action1

We went for both- action 1 for it's robust clear patch management and other tools, SuperOps for remoting in and ticket system primarily.

### "Great idea, some room to improve."

Great product for what it is and can do, just wish the remote access worked faster.

Pros

The only issue we ran into was the remote access to endpoints, it is slow and has issues when switching multiple displays.

### "Nothing comes close to Action1"

September 9, 2025

5.0

I would (and have) recommend this to anyone. Nothing compares. Third party vulnerability scans have proved this is working 100%

Pros

Does exactly what it promises. Action1 makes patch management and software deployment simple and effortless. You cant beat 'free' for under 200 devices. Super simple to get going and configure.

Cons

Its free. Sounds silly, but there are times you need support which isnt included in the free licence. I would be willing to pay money to have support when needed.

### "I recommend this software, if you try it, you would too!"

August 20, 2025

5.0

Really positive, the sales, the aftercare, the technical support. Everything has been easy, the software just seems to work immediately and have yet to find a flaw with either the service or product that doesn't get rectified. I would recommend this solution to give a much better visibility of your patch and vulnerability management.

Pros

I used to free endpoints to manage my server infrastructure patch management with ease and much preferred the dashboard and configuration compared to other platforms. The setup was easy and the discord channel for support offered fast community help when I was first starting out and experimenting to see what else the platform could offer. I went on to purchase more endpoints to cover our entire fleet after being happy with the product and after comparing costs this product was by far better value for money than the others on the market with all features available.

Cons

It didn't initially have delegated access to administrative sections and this was the biggest flaw in my eyes which has now been fixed.

### "FANTASTIC!!!"

October 2, 2025

5.0

Way better than LANsweeper and free! Much easier to setup and deploy, 100% cloud based, no complaints! We are already much more secure patched and up to date. Thanks Action1!

Pros

Super easy to setup and deploy. Did it in a few hours. It is free for up to 200 endpoints and extended to 400 for vulnerability for a limited time. I love the automations and actions very easy to get our systems much more patched and up to date

Cons

Nothing so far, if I had to say anything I would just say that you have to go in and clean up the automations and give them unique names or else you end up with a bit of a graveyard for things you only run one time.

Cost, bugs, poor support. The price for lansweeper nearly quadrupled over the last 4-6 years and new features are paywalled under an even higher tier.

### "Good platform with a lot of nice features"

September 11, 2025

4.0

Overall we have had a good experience with Action1. The patching and inventory tools are much more intuitive than other platforms that we explored. Excited to see some of the roadmap items come into productions.

Pros

Action1 was key in us achieving a patching strategy for our organisation. We found that Action1 was much more effective at patching (both through product-coverage and time to deploy) against our other solutions.

Cons

We primarily use Action1 to manage remote-workers on BYOD and there are some features that could be more controllable. For example, the platform shows network connections on the machine in real-time. In BYOD scenarios, it could be good to disable this to respect BYOD users' privacy.

### "WSUS Out; Action1 In"

September 12, 2025

My experience using Action1 is all positive. In fact, I am seriously considering moving to Action1 and replace my current application

Pros

I really love the confidence of Action1 to allow the full functionality to test out (up to 200 endpoints)

Cons

So far, I have not seen anything that I do not like. This is a well thought application. The timing is great since Microsoft announced the end of life for WSUS

### "Great tool that should be in EVERY toolbox"

September 9, 2025

5.0

Excellent, thorough, confidence-building ease of use, I love it. It even allows for a quick start with the first 200 endpoints so you can truly test the product and decide on your own.

Pros

Ease; from initial setup to deployment, it is so easy. The process of updates is also incredible. It is a wonderful tool and I literally had my first node updating within 10 minutes of account registration.

Cons

The remote desktop can be a little laggy; however, Action1 never purports to being an RMM. I have also found that this feature is quite helpful with some specific instances. I have true hope that one day Action1 will also be my RMM.

I was downsizing my business and moving away from another RMM solution. I came across Action1 as I was doing some research and decided to go with them. It was very easy to set up and I had my customers up and running very quickly.

Pros

### "Third Party Updates Done Simply."

July 1, 2025

5.0

Amazing value and has allowed me to get rid of my problematic WSUS. It also does some MAC stuff, but less great than how it handles Windows Devices.

Pros

Third party application updates done faily easily. It finds most all of the third party stuff and makes approving it easy. unusual or custom programs can be added but that ends up being pretty hands on, but better than patching dozens by hand.

Cons

Can't cancel updates that have already started, which includes if you accidentally added the reboot after patching function to a server or group of PCs that should stay on during the day.

### "Perfect for small businesses"

January 6, 2025

5.0

Action1 is simple to deploy via GPO, endpoints can be managed via groups and split between organisations on whatever speed of an update channel I wish. I love the dashboard showing how protected my organisation is.

Pros

The ease of setting Action1 up. It's a breeze. The peace of mind it provides for machines that have not checked in for weeks is reassuring. The RMM functionality just works. And the Dashboard gives me the insight into my organisation as a whole in a clear way.

Cons

If I had to pick something it would be nice to be able to install programs per user as well as per machine. Also maybe the ability to install Windows updates by KB. It would be nice if the dashboard showed the number of original vulnerabilities my organisation had compared to how many it has dropped to. Eg 80/5000 vulnerabilities thanks to Action1!

### "Effortless Management of your Assets, support and vulnerability scanning."

July 1, 2025

5.0

It has most of what you would want in end user management, with an awesome patch management and solid vulnerability assessment tool you can't go wrong. Plus, the product is actively updated. The product is so easy to manage and use.

Pros

Initially the price, but dont take me wrong, when I started scouting the most suitable end user and asset management, others are just too crowded, either the tools is so over complicated, or the support is really not there. With Action1 everything is always on the go, from support to product innovation. For me Action1 is the perfect fit for my organization, I've tried all the other top providers but Action1 beats them hands down.

Cons

Before was support for Apple OS, but not anymore since they released the much-anticipated agent early this year.

### "Action1 - Everyday Lifesaver"

September 9, 2025

5.0

I use Action1 every single day and would be lost without it, there are features such as software deployment which I haven't yet used but I know it will be a life saver in the future.

Pros

I like how easy the agent is to deploy and how reliable it is to deploy updates and remote into clients. The 200 free agents give great value for money.

Cons

I feel like the reports could be better laid out but that is a really small con, they are still easily accessible.

I would recommend it to any business small, medium or large. Action1 does the monitoring for you so you can focus on completing other important tasks.

Pros

Cons

Pros

It's easy and simple to understand. Deploying software or pushing updates is very simple. Also help tremendously with identifying and remediating vulnerabilities.

Cons

### "10/10 would recommend!"

July 7, 2025

5.0

I created a free account and received a call from my account representative within a week making sure I knew who to call if there was anything I needed. I was shocked! That level of service is getting harder to find in this field. Business is taking off and hopefully soon will pass the 200 agent mark and will definitely be sticking with Action1 long-term. Don't change! Keep it up

Pros

For the past 9 years, I have administrated KACE SMA in a 700+ workstation / server enterprise. Action1 far exceeds that product, especially in the third party patching field. I chose Action1 to start my own MSP business, and it has been great. Based just down the road from me in Houston, Texas!

Cons

I cannot think of any at the moment. The previous SMA I used was KACE and we self-hosted the VM in house. Action1 is cloud based so approving updates, for example, seems a little slower. This is to be expected, so no big deal. Not a complaint at all, just the nature of the beast.

### "Game Changer for Patching Systems "

June 30, 2025

5.0

It's been a game changer for our organization. Having a conslidated list of updates, patches and vulnerabilities in one place makes managing systems so much simpler. We also appreciate having a full list of installed software across out organization.

Pros

The ability to manage patching virtually all of our systems/applications in one place. I also love some of the features like the ability to see your BitLocker keys at a glance for all systems, which is incredibly useful for quick recoveries when required.

Cons

Lack of ability to get support if you are a smaller organization. In general we've been able to work through issues using their Discord channel, but it would be nice to have an option for paid support for smaller organizations.

Pros

The thing I like the most about Action1 is the remote desktop feature. It is seamless and easy to use.

Cons

### "Absolutely fantastic. "

December 23, 2024

5.0

Absolutely fantastic. It has allowed me to replace several disparate systems and policies for deploying and updating software in our org. The run script and software install features included in the curated libraries have revolutionized our device on-boarding. We have managed to retire several GPOs from our on-site AD which helps simplifies the eventual migration away from on-site AD to Entra. My personal opinion is that it is much easier to work with than Intune with better feedback. I will be looking to use Action1 where ever possible in our work flows and GPO/Intune as a last resort.

Pros

That is it truly is free to use for our charity org. It really is a free offering for under 100 devices that is not hobbled in any way.

Cons

There could be options to nest endpoint groups to help with software and update deployment to different devices via automations. Even if the subtree groups could not be used in deployments it would make the Groups section less cluttered.

### "Action1 to the rescue!"

June 30, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Action 1 has been nothing but amazing. It would take me a long time to check each computer to make sure that they were up to date. Now I can just click a few buttons and Action1 takes care of the rest.

Pros

I really enjoy the ability to remotely manage all of my companies workstations making sure that their computers are up to date with the latest drivers and patches. We do not have a server so the fact that I can perform a duty that usually requires a server is wonderful.

Cons

There are only two things that I've come across and I believe might be already listed in the future roadmap. 1. The ability to create an app center similarly to SCCM. 2. Remote viewer works great but lacking features.
