I really like the ease of use and the value of sharing information on this way with my colleagues.

Cons

There are some questions who comes up again and again although they’ve been answered already. I think this can be fixed with an improved GUI

We just recently limited this behavior ensuring that this doesn't happen anymore with questions where new comments have been added (only for new answers now). I am engaged in providing technical solution to queries posted on Starmind. But reading response of non technical questions is also a great source of knowledge management.

Pros

User friendly, the dash board, robust search

Cons

the layout. I think the previous layout was better (may be a question of a habit) but for me the navigation bar ''Ask the ICRC'' on right hand side. Also would it be possible to put the dashboard on the top (a source of motivation how am I doing!!!) than at the bottom. Also ''Notifications' should be on Top that way its more catchy!

Pros

Expert picking from the related queries helps end user to get an answer which is not possible via ticket or time consuming.

Cons

Finding an answer for old question posted. Search can be enhanced.

overall it is a really good experience. Particularly valuable fo rnewcomers who do not know who to ask / where to find informations and/or are afraid to ask questions.

Pros

Like the team spirit coming from this collaborative way of working. I also like the challenge/ranking etc -> it becomes fun to help the others !

Cons

Quality of the replies is not always perfect. Needs some distance/critical thinking sometimes. The good thing is that incorrect replies will receive bad rating from other users.

Machine learning is great to find experts by topic. Replying to old questions should be discouraged using UX nudges

Following questions, it helps see how the answers evolve or become resolved. Additionally the skill map is a great way to see the user's knowledge base.

Cons

Tagging relevant users to a question. Sometimes I see questions that don't include significant users to answer, even though the follow tags and sometimes have the question subject in their title.

Starmind has helped me several times find relevant content without having to ask anyone else but starmind. I am very impressed by Starmind capabilities.

Pros

Info is easy to find using the search bar at the top and suggested exisitng content answering our question

Cons

I believe that sometimes the community does not answer exactly the question asked but then it might also come from the non-clarity of some questions asked.

I am attracted to Starmind because I love to share knowledge and support people. It is also my place to go to search for simply questions and answers. There is a source of information in there that if used properly it become a good platform to visit everyday.

Pros

I like that people can write an anonymous question without being exposed. This gives them the opportunity to be open and honest. The people who write the answers however are known and can show their knowledge.

Cons

No sure I found any that this point. I do like the software.

Pros

Great and easy-to-use platform to ease the lives of our IT Servicedesk guys as well as of our entire user community. Using the Starmind is great fun - and even provides knowledge and efficiency benefits.

Cons

As pointed out earlier - sometimes, the "flood" of information tends to be even a bit too much... - Maybe it would be possible to add more obvious options to limit the overall information a little bit - this would make the platform even more valuable, I guess...

Pros

Starmind helps us in an incredible way to encourage colleagues on a global level not to be afraid to ask questions. Through the feature to ask a question and comment on answers to their questions anonymously, colleagues are feeling more ready to ask anything that they are concerned about. Sometimes, staff in organizations are haunted by difficult or sensitive questions which they do not feel comfortable with asking to their manager or other colleagues. With Starmind, we have a safe space now to also get aware of and address those questions. In addition to that core feature of Starmind the design both of the web version and the mobile app are very user-friendly and the search function works splendidly. With hashtags and skill maps, it gets easy to identify colleagues who are experts in specific areas.

Cons

For specific sensitive questions, it might be helpful if the question answerer could also remain anonymous, but his department affiliation would be shown. E.g., an John Doe from HR answers a question, but it will only be shown as "Anonymous, HR".

\- customer support. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] is always very kind and helpful. - Out of the box integrations - simple to use - the ability to precapture questions and answers for software rollouts (with knowledge spaces)

Cons

\- Search should be better (more like Google Search) - Every user should be able to mark knowledge thats important for their work - Individualiced filters should be possible - Status of Feature requests on canny is not always clear and it takes a lot of time untile someone reacts on them - beeing able to ask questions that are not recognisable as such

I really like it and enjoy to be able to contribute with my knowledge.

Pros

Starmind is very easy to use. Many people can contribute with their knowledge and experience. I am one of the contributors and I am in level 18 at the moment . It is an addictive tool. In my spare time, I search for questions that I can answer. I am very competitive, and work to reach the highest level possible. This is an interactive tool since we can ask any type of questions and we can chat with other colleagues to get the best answer. There are helpful features such as Feeds, experts, dashboard and skill map which are very convenient for the user.

Cons

I have seen many unanswered questions since over a year ago, it would be helpful to questions in a different section. A glossary will be helpful and an appendix for easy lookup of a word since there are many technical words used for a specific business unit.

The tool is easy to use and easy to integrate and requires no training. It has some gamification aspects that make using the tool interesting.

Pros

The concept is quite simple: users ask questions and by analyzing the answers, the system clusters the employees according to skills. This is very powerful and allows to quickly find answers as well as helpful people.

Cons

It is a bit of a challenge to deal with old answers - the answers have an "expiry date", but it would be nice to be able to retire answers automatically.

It feels like Google made a baby with Siri.

Pros

In a large company like Swisscom it's not easy to quickly find the right person to help you out with a problem. Starmind, which powers Swisscom's Ask-The-Brain tool, makes this really simple. Questions can be submitted anonymously, and then the system automatically matches it up with the people most likely to have the right answer.

Cons

It would be nice to see more integrations into other tools that are used on a daily basis, like Teams, Confluence, or Outlook, to avoid having to search in multiple tools. But I don't know if this is a limitation of the Software or if Swisscom just hasn't tackled it yet.

I assume it is time consuming for all those who read things they do not really need

Pros

easy implementation after only one meeting as Pioneer the idea of knowledge sharing in shortest time is absolutely a must in a big company by this undocumented knowledge will not be lost completely

Cons

users trying to get high ranking by providing data that might not always be useful information is sometimes shared without verifying background (by referring to a specific order, unconnected to general use) no idea how to search for specific data- a kind of data base would be great to keep the data documented and available for the future
