But over time there has been no improvement, bugs have not been fixed, it uses incredibly outdated technology, and customer support has essentially been removed. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this product. Pros I like some of case management features. It does allow you create events and communication logs, automate communications to an extent, and review filings. It also integrates with LawPay, which is nice. Cons The program runs on Silverlight and the only way to open it in a browser is to use Internet Explorer. It is terribly slow and has all sorts of bugs. Customer support used to be good and is now virtually nonexistent. No ability to get your files if you need them or leave. It seems like they abandoned the software and are just trying to get as much out of it before everyone quits using it. It did not work for us. We never felt secure. Alternatives considered [NextChapter](https://www.capterra.com/p/168766/NextChapter/) Reasons for choosing CINcompass At the time, we thought CIN was a better match. It turned out Next was. It might be a good fit for another office, it just wasn't a good fit for my small office. Pros The cloud based features were promising at first but we found the program to be clunky in operation and entirely dependent upon the internet. Cons My office ended up not renewing our license and we stopped using the program and switched to a competitor because we found it clunky in operation and too dependent upon a fast and reliable internet connection. Cons It was difficult to navigate. The software would auto-populate fields and it was difficult to determine how some information ended up in a specific place. It accomplishes its purpose. Pros It is very feature rich and easy to use. I especially like the address checking. The credit report integration worked well. Cons It is a little pricey and has to be used at a computer that has it installed. Sometimes the customer support was less than helpful.
