May 20, 2019 5.0 I have wanted this program for a few years and we finally convinced the system to get trials for two of us and our experience was so positive that I think they are considering it for all of the other teachers. Pros I love the ability to monitor students while they are taking a Google Forms test without trying to physically walk around all 30 students at one time - there is simply no way to watch all 30 computers at one time. As soon as you walk away from a student they can quickly open a new tab and cheat. But with GoGuardian I can easily see all of their screens and screeenshot and close any tabs if they try to cheat. Cons It is aggravating to scroll through a large class because they don't all fit on my screen. But that is so minor compared to the benefits of being able to watch them and keep them on task. Pros Go guardian is very easy to set up and use. Teachers can monitor students in real time. It truly improves on-task time and accountability. I was able to see what they were working on and help them through any difficult sections in their work. Students don't feel as "alone" on their assignments this way. It has changed how I am able to manage class, both virtually and in-person, and I love how easy it is to use. Pros GoGuardian makes it easy for me to see if my students are engaged and on task. I like that I can close tabs, set scenes, and send them messages through the chat feature - this especially works with shy students who might prefer to ask questions through chat instead of in front of the whole group. Pros Nothing is good about this program or company Cons I dont appreciate being forced into educating my child via a laptop that has completely stopped him from all education. They have also given themselves the right to supersede my rights to control what my child views and how easily he does so. Hes blocked from teachers videos and links for classwork and gmail for account verifications or classwork docs. He cant print to an outside printer or send to outside printers. but he can watch mindnumbing violence provoking irrational anger creating minecraft videos on you tube. June 10, 2020 5.0 GoGuardian has greatly helped my students be held accountable for their technology use in my classroom, and at home! Pros Where do I start?! I think my favorite pro that is now a part of this software, is the ability to quickly add a website that a student is viewing to a blocked list for that specific scene! Before, I was having to open the link, copy the URL, go back to the scene page, and paste the URL, then refresh the scene. Making this so much quicker is huge! Cons I wish I could set a scene that was tailored to a specific student, or group of students; and consequently have multiple students in different scenes at the same time. As time went on, I also found that kids followed the rules better. I have not had to talk to a kid about being where they should be in weeks! Pros The feature I use the most is setting up a class session and dipping into what the kids are doing here and there. I can see what is on their screen and follow up on miscreants. This is helpful when I can't see every screen by scanning the room. Cons I feel a little tied to my own screen, but I have structured the classroom so that kids come to me a little more often.
