Pros The automatic feature of notifying students that their ride has arrived on campus. Administrator Education Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "An Easy-To-Adopt Tool to Manage School Dismissal" January 6, 2025 4.0 SchoolPass is something that we use widely. From parents, to teachers, to administrators, it seems that everyone is able to learn how to utilize the app very quickly without much confusion. This is not the case for most technology we use, and SchoolPass is exceptional in that its adoption is so user-friendly for newcomers to our organization. Pros It allows for us to control our dismissal process and ready students for transportation provided by our school as well as our carline. Parents can update their dismissal plans without us being involved, as well as adjust for carpools and even afterschool activities or sports. Overall the UI is sleek and clear, it is not overly complicated for us or for parents to use, and they are relatively responsive around bugs or issues we are experiencing. Compared to other alternatives, we feel comfortable with maintaining it as our go-to software for managing to transfer of students during the schoolday. Cons While SchoolPass is indispensable to our organization, it has been less responsive since its acquisition by Raptor in terms of responding to bugs or other issues. There are some difficulties around common scenarios such as splitting siblings with different dismissal plans, or occasional glitches for our teachers who are awaiting their students to pop up on the app so they can be released. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer IT Manager Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "SchoolPass - Noble purpose with unrealized potential" March 21, 2023 3.0 While ultimately the product is probably better than doing things manually, I wouldn't say it has saved us much in the way of time or work, but simply shifted the same amount of work to something that is more trackable and reportable, which, while beneficial, isn't the entirety of what we were expecting from the product . I do think if there is more development work put into it, that SchoolPass' quality will be more fully realized at some point in the future, which is my hope. While I have only dealt with primarily one rep, he does seem willing to help, it's just that for many of these details or issues there aren't really answers to provide or solutions to offer. It simply is the way that it is and we have to work with it. I do think this is a very expensive SAAS offering for what it does currently. If you're considering using it, I'd definitely make sure that the SIS you use is FULLY supported and weigh the cost vs time savings here because so far for us, I'm not confident in saying that the time savings/workflow optimization has been realized enough to justify the cost of the product. I'm cautiously hopeful that as the product is developed that balance will be achieved. Pros I liked that the overall concept is good. The ideas presented and the problems that SchoolPass is setting out to solve are problems that need a solution. Ultimately using SchoolPass is still probably better than keeping track of everything manually, but the system has so much more potential and capacity to be truly good. Cons There are many details that are either intentional choices or have been left unresolved that make the overall experience hard to enjoy, especially in the light of how expensive the product is. They give the admins a surprisingly limited amount of customization options and force you to reach out to reps if you want to toggle certain options on or off or make things required or not. It would benefit both parties to simply provide all of the available options to the admin user and then train them once on how to use them rather than forcing so many contacts to customize the product. Portions of the product were also simply oversold - specifically its ability to integrate with certain SIS programs. The app itself also struggles to keep up with changing iPad technology and crashes more frequently than I'd expect it to. There are many details about areas such as dismissal queue, parent notifications, and reporting that don't always make a lot of sense such as the dismissal queue forcing you to add students to it even when the SchoolPass software is aware that they are absent for the day or left early. Currently, the browser interface for the product is a bit on the inconvenient side. There is an older and newer "view" for the browser interface. Much of the functionality of the program has been migrated over to the newer view, however not all of it has. Knowing which view to use for what you'd want to accomplish can create a lot of searching for the right options. Review Source Response from SchoolPass March 27, 2023 Thank you for this feedback. As well as monitoring those who are coming in and out of the building with is VERY important when it comes to keeping children safe. Pros One of the best way to have communication between school and families. And allowing parents to be involved in their child/ren's life at school. Cons It is not something all school can afford and can therefore not be implanted in many schools. The cons with having SchoolPass is that sometimes the system can be down. Review Source AT Alana T. After installing the SchoolPass system, we cut this to 1 employee performing carpool a total of 15 minutes a day. Dismissal is more quiet and organized and makes the end of day carpool a much more efficient and enjoyable experience. Pros There is no carpool scheduling software on the market that can compare to SchoolPass. It is the most robust and easy to use software available for schools in regards to carpool scheduling. The company goes above and beyond to assist the school in setting up the system. Integration with cameras and tolltag readers also make it a great security asset for any school. No other company compares to the SchoolPass technology and the company that stands behind it. Cons There are no negatives to this software solution. Review Source rE richard E. June 12, 2019 5.0 SchoolPass gave us easy access to dismissal information that any employee can look up. We are much more organized during the day preparing for dismissal rather than frantically dealing with late in the day changes by parents calling in. Pros The dismissal function is great but this app places the responsibility on the parent to manage their kid's dismissal and after school activities. This relieved our front office of at least 4 hours a day to do other things. Cons I would love to have greater super admin function at the customer level but SchoolPass is very responsive so this is not a deal breaker. May 29, 2019 5.0 School Pass solved our difficulties tracking students and completely and easily solved our problems with student dismissals/car riders, by making the process seamless. Real time tracking reduced car lines and allowed students to stay in the classroom longer. Safety issues in the afternoons were greatly reduced! Pros Our school really had difficulty quickly tracking and notifying teachers about student absences and this takes so much work off of the office staff. It helped us get our car rider dismissals organized in the afternoons, whereas before it was a time consuming mess! Now our car riders are called as parents arrive, no more angry waiting parents, no more confusion and no more unmanageable lines. Our school dismissal procedures are so much safer now! This has been a lifesaver for us! Office staff can now attend to other pressing matters and the office is much quieter. Cons We love it...no complaints! Our dismissal required paper record keeping, walkie talkies, and too many employees to support carpool. Majority of our carpool process is now automated and archived using School Pass. As Director of Operations, I use School Pass as an additional security measure to screen and track vehicles entering our site. School Pass is a powerful software that truly enhances school operations. Pros Ease of use, parent and admin user controls and variety of functionality within one program. It is also helpful to keep track of visitors as well. Safety is very important to our school. Pros SchoolPass is easy to use. The visitor management tab is organized and efficient. My school uses it to make the check in/check out process smooth. Cons The layout is hard to follow at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes easier. The search bar is very specific.
