### "This software saved me!"

Tracking my income and finally feel in control! Saving SO MUCH TIME! It was great that I could jump in simply, then I slowly started to add features as my comfort level increased. Moreover, it is not too complicated and bogged down with features I'll never need.

Pros

It is as if someone read my mind about all the features I needed to run more efficiently, and she created TutorBird. The features are easy to learn and exactly what I need, customer service is amazing, the functions are always improving.

Cons

That I hadn't found it sooner. I didn't like that I couldn't click and drag sessions from month view - but now I can.

Reason for choosing TutorBird

I was told a tutor's spouse created the software, so I knew it would have what I needed, and it is at a price I could afford the other system was too costly. I really like that in the slow summer months I can drop down to fewer tutors to save money!

I am now running my own classes as 100 % freelance, which is wonderful! Tutorbird has given me the opportunity to be a real business owner and in control of everything I do.

Pros

The price to use the platform is great for independents like me. Fairly easy to use. Customer support always quick to respond to queries and to help. Well designed platform for students to book classes and pay.

Cons

Some features are more of a headache than useful. Students are constantly confused when they sign up because they don't understand they need a to wait for a separate email to create their password. The sign up process is too convoluted. Timezones are also a source of confusion. I have talked about all this with someone in customer support already though.

I can't remember the other platforms, but Tutorbird was the cheapest and had the functionalities I needed.

Pros

I like the invoicing and book keeping features because they save me time and are easy to use on the move. I also like the note feature on bookings - it makes my not keeping structured and all in one place.

Cons

I have wanted to download information and it is tricky finding how to do this.

Tutorbird has helped us automate so many administrative tasks that we can now focus our efforts on improving the quality of our courses to our students and growing our business. It has become an integral part of our company and my only regret is that we haven't started using it earlier.

Pros

Complex features but not too complex to learn A responsive support team Provides flexibility for various types of tutoring agencies, admin or tutor managed. Easy to change, move or edit appointments with auto email reminders and free sms reminders which can be turned on or off by students. Auto invoicing with professional email templates makes month end really easy and reduces a ton of admin. Your course content can be uploaded directly and issued to students with ease. Students have their own dashboard where they can view their calendar, account details and lesson materials. Can be used for online or in person lessons with a lending library log to keep track of your any materials you lend to students. Easy report functionality with various metrics including turnover and student retention. Really affordable and scalable to match your growth.

Cons

Lesson material dont have a read-only option and students can download it at their discretion. You can't add your own branding to your student and user profiles. You can upload receipts and expenses to archive and add to expenses.

The price, functionality and flexibility was ideal according to our needs. We needed a platform where we had more control on the focus and access over the learning experience of our students without all the excessive "social" hooks that are counter productive if anything. For that we can refer to social media if we wanted it. Tutorbird allows you to focus on whats essential and does so thoroughly and with ease.

I've been better able to manage my busy tutoring schedule, add tutors to my business and have more time to do what I enjoy most - teach. I am thankful that I have TutorBird to help with invoicing, payment tracking, and reminders. It has saved me so much time!

Pros

I love the reliability of TutorBird. It helped me take my business to the next level. Calendar based billing is the essential feature I value the most.

Cons

I'd like my other tutors to be able to see their families payment history without having full admin rights. I haven't figured this out yet.

Overall, I am very pleased with this comprehensive resource for managing clients and scheduling.

Pros

I love the calendar, scheduling, ability to track session notes, and the ability for clients to pay online through the portal.

Cons

I wish there was the capability to attach documents to session notes emailed to parents as I've had to send a separate email after each lesson to send these attachments. The billing can often be confusing as well. I also wish there was a way to send documents for signature through Tutorbird.

I love that the scheduler synchs with my Google calendar. I don't have to remind students about upcoming lessons anymore, as Tutorbird automatically does that for me. It also automatically sends out invoices and even "nags" parents who don't pay on time with a polite "overdue invoice" reminder email. It collects payments by credit card or direct deposit into my bank account. It keeps lesson records for me and emails them to the parents (replacing the need for me to record them in a document, then copy and paste it into an email). It keeps all contact information on each of my students and records of all payments. So, it's like an invoice program, scheduler, payment platform, reminder, finance record keeper, etc. all in one (no more multiple spread sheets and docs for multiple kids). I love it.

Pros

TutorBird makes running my tutoring business so much easier and more professional. I use it for scheduling, invoicing, online payments, keeping records and contact information on my students, sending lesson notes, sending out email and text reminders of upcoming sessions, etc. It's a one-stop shop for all my needs. I started with a free trial and quickly realized I couldn't live without it and would gladly pay the monthly fee. I'm part of a tutoring support group on Facebook made up of thousands of tutors from around the world and I'm always singing the praises of TutorBird to the others wanting solutions for their scheduling, invoicing, and online payment needs.

Cons

Nothing. I love it all. I don't use their website builder because I already had a website, so I can't speak to that.

The amount of saved work hours by using Tutorbird is amazing! I'm sorry we did not use it a lot sooner.

Pros

Tutorbird has relieved me of so much work such as invoicing, attendance and scheduling of tutors. I love that my tutors can take their own attendance and can check their schedules independently. The lesson reminders to the parents are a life-saver! The amount of 'no-shows' has been cut drastically.

Cons

I have no 'cons' to share about Tutorbird. Any problems or questions have been most effectively solved by the customer support team.

Pros

I love that TutorBird is a one-stop shop for everything I need to run my tutoring business. I haven't found any other service that has the same amount of features that TutorBird and you just can't beat the price point!

Cons

I wish somethings were a little more intuitive. The calendar syncing has given me issues. I'd love if the website feature had built in SEO best practices that would help my website get more traffic. I don't love the website templates, I wish there were more customization possibilities with regard to the website, but I'm thankful it's an affordable option for website hosting.

The customer support is top notch, In the 1st several months, there were many things I needed to learn and they were always quick, patient and oh so helpful!

Pros

What used to be 3 seperate platforms and a LOT of labor is now streamlined and I'm grateful! More time for other things!

Cons

I haven't liked some of the fine tuning that has been needed with some of my tricky students (i.e. divorced parents, separate invoices, etc.). However those are tricky no matter the product...

Excellent.

Pros

\[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] helped me and responded to my questions quickly. The software itself is great. They also have support documentation on their website for many questions. I am actually trying to set up a courses business on it to teach online live lessons rather than tutoring. I looked at other software products for teaching online live courses and some are pretty greedy when you read the fine prints. And some are not meant for live courses but for recorded courses. Tutorbird is straight up easy to use ,and I believe priced fairly and scalable, especially for a start-up in the educational market.

Cons

There are some limitations like not being able to remove some tabs, not controlling the color of the inside Portal, and not being able to make actual lessons connect as one course because the software itself is for a tutoring business not a course business. There are limited YouTube tutorials, but I personally feel okay reading the documentation. Overall, I think the good features outweigh the limitations.

I think Thinkific is too expensive for a startup, that was the main reason. Their themes were very limited, so I ended up wanting to develop my own website outside Thinkific. I wanted something that would do the backend course management with embedded code to my website. Thinkific set up was complicated because it had so much more features than what I actually needed. I just wanted a calendar that I can share with students, and a way for students to sign up and pay securely - that's it mainly, everything else is just extra. Thinkific charges too much for a way to conveniently share a Zoom link plus payment processing.

It would be good if you could link your bank account to the system so that clients could transfer and then the system send paid receipts and mark invoices as paid. It’s also quite expensive.

I enjoy the ease of the scheduling systems and that it gives you a monthly estimate income. The face that it sends reminders is a major plus. When I have contacted customer service they responded very promptly.

Pros

I like how you can schedule all appointments in one place and create different categories for different appointments. I love that sms and email alters are sent to clients either 24hrs or 48 hrs before an appointment saving me the job of reminding clients.

Cons

I would like tutorbird to be easier to use when using from a phone. I don’t find it as user friendly when on the phone.

Excellent. This is my one platform for customer management, booking, resource sharing, invoicing and expenses.

Pros

I can access it quickly on my phone or any laptop, it can be tailored to my exact business type, the customer service is phenomenal, they always answer so rapidly and in depth! Parents and students (my clients) also find it super easy to navigate.

Cons

Setting up expenses as one-off or repeating could do with a bit more work.
