The regular emails to advise of postal increases and notice of needed updates, which are quite easy to implement, make this a terrific solution. The software definitely prints nonpresort Bound Printed Matter, and does that automatically if you have fewer than 300 pieces per shipment. But the software still does perform presort, in order to get you better delivery, as recommended to us by USPS. That also prevents you from needing to sort by delivery zone. I emailed to ask questions and got an email within minutes. They had all my questions taken care of that day. You can save the statement setups and recall them on the screen where you enter the statement info. The best way to save previous printouts is to save them as pdfs. You can do that when you first create them, or you can go back and do that for the most recent mailing from the File menu in Postage Saver. As to comparing postage costs, we have some rate calculators on our web site that let you estimate costs for different types of mail. Look in the Learn About Bulk Mail section at savepostage.com, and there are several listings for "cheapest way to send" depending on the content of your mail. Mac uses different symbol coding from Windows files so sometimes a file made on one platform doesn't exactly convert to the other, but we fixed the issue that caused the error you sent. Pros I do the mail processing for several small non profits for their mailings. I have been told by my customers that the forms created by Postage $aver make the mailing so simple, especially since the post office went to online processing of mailing forms. Cons The only problem I have is that Postage $aver is not compatible with the current version of Microsoft Access that my customers use for the mailing database. The data has to be exported as an Excel file so that Postage $aver can read the data. It is very easy to import our excel membership data extracts into Postage Saver for our mailings. Cons I find very little to dislike about the product. Pros Thanks to Postage $aver we are finally doing electronic submissions to PostalOne! with no problems -- something I was afraid would be very problematic. The Mail Prep instructions for our bindery person are clear and exact, and the Postal Wizard Instructions to explain how to use the online USPS portal are the BEST! Each time I use them I am so grateful and appreciate how they walk us through each step for each mailing. I would have found the USPS website very confusing without these instructions. April 12, 2023 5.0 Pros The frequency of the updates, the features match our needs, and the (very little) support requests needed have had immediate turnarounds. Cons The "single flow through the wizard" model is a bit weird for our use case. We use the software to generate our bulk-mail sorted lists of address, THEN we print them, stuff them, etc. So we have to go through twice; once before we print and stuff to get the sorted lists, then once again afterwards once we have the weights and known dates of mailing, which we don't necessarily know ahead of time.My OCD makes me very, very nervous that the 2 runs will sort them differently somehow. To date there's been no problem so I'm less anxious about it now, but I wish we could do a "sort only" run, then add the dates/weights to it and print the reports USING that original sort. As to entering the mailing date, you can do that after sorting by opening the postage statement screen, entering the date you want, saving, then printing the statement from the File menu in the software. It retains the last job you did, so all your data will match as long as you don't change other settings. Re the weight, we sometimes give you the option to leave that blank and fill it in manually afterwards. But for some types of mail, the sorting and pricing is determined by weight, so the software has to know it up front. But you only need the weight of a single piece, so we suggest you make up a few "dummy" samples and weigh them so you know the weight at the beginning. That will keep you from needing a second run. Pros I cannot narrow my praise for Postage Saver to one thing. We are a very small religious non-profit with a bi-monthly mailing of around 3000. When our previous software (Envelope Manager) was no longer available to us, we only found very expensive alternatives. I don't remember how we stumbled on Postage Saver, but it was a life saver for us and allowed us to continue to mail since 2012. While we are experiencing a change in direction at this time and haven't mailed for 4 months, we still intend to keep Postage Saver with the thought that we may resume our bi-monthly mailing in the future. If you process bulk mail, you need Postage Saver (coupled with Smarty Streets)! Cons I can't think of one thing I do not like about Postage Saver. Some of them have had to prepare bulk mailings manually in the past, and were confounded by changing USPS requirements. My ability to produce money-saving results with minimal effort seems like magic to them. Pros I've used Postage $aver for nearly 20 years, and it has greatly simplified an often-confusing and tiresome task time and time again. More recent versions, that produce high-quality versions of USPS forms, impress the staff at one of the Bulk Mail Acceptance facilities I use. Even as the volume and frequency of mailings I oversee decreases, I will continue to renew and support this software as long as I'm able.
