I make the templates before passing them on to my colleague who sends them out several times a week. I just feel like using Chamaileon makes the task take a bit longer than it really should. Pros I like that I can see a record of previous email templates I've created in chamaileon and that it is easy to duplicate and then edit these. As long as the changes I make to the template are minor, it's fairly easy to use. Cons It's very clunky. Especially when uploading a new photo to a template - having to go through the process of uploading it from my computer was very time-consuming. It also takes a really long time to open Chamaileon, and to change page within it. It's also hard to search for something specific in it- I honestly have no idea how to access the page of my previous templates from the home page, I just access it through my internet search history. If you're not good at code, you can still bang out a great design that works across clients and on mobile. If you're a code warrior, it exports clean code you can easily edit. Pros I dove in, with no instruction and was able to compose and test a custom email template in one hour! The toolset was very intuitive This is best suited to a team specializing in email marketing Cons Pricey! Holy crap! It starts at $150 per month. If there were 3 products I was evaluating side by side with the same functionality, I would pick Chamaileon based on the wonderful support. Pros Integrating Chamaileon into our creative toolbox has been exciting and worthwhile. What I like most is the simplicity of the design process from start to finish. Plus, the HTML import function is amazing as it is not just an HTML block, it can be fully edited. In addition, the integration to major ESP's is flawless. Cons No biggy, but when learning I wish there were more instructional videos on youtube using the current version of the software. Of all the options I could find, this was by far the easiest to use. Cons We're using the free version, so we could only download a handful per month. I was lucky- we started this project in late November, so I was able to take advantage of the timing to 'knock out' most of the versions we needed quickly. Pros I like the drag and drop email development for its ease of use. Also the code generated is minimal and easy to diagnose any issues. Cons I've only designed a few emails but one issue I noticed is a logo in the header becomes scaled disproportionately at times. It was getting stretched and took a few times to fix even with updating the code manually.
