Overall, my experience with Aura has been very positive. Their customer support team is always attentive and helpful—they’re quick to answer my questions and guide me whenever I need assistance.

Pros

I absolutely love using Aura for my spa. The booking system is incredibly user-friendly, and my clients always comment on how easy it is to schedule their appointments. The design is sleek, modern, and professional—exactly the kind of aesthetic that reflects my brand. What I appreciate most is how seamlessly everything is integrated: digital forms, waitlists, and secure payments through Aura Pay. The automation has saved me so much time and has truly streamlined my day-to-day operations.

Cons

If I had one suggestion, it would be to add more functionality to the A920PRO device. I’d love for it to work more like a computer during checkout. That capability isn’t available yet, but I hope to see it in future updates.

Well put together and easy to use. Offers a remote option for all features as well as a convenient app for stylist and clients alike,

Pros

Very customizable, tons of add ons depending on what the business needs. In have been using Aura in our 4 salons for about 2 years and I will not be going anywhere else!

Cons

The setup process can be a bit tedious but in the long run prevents from messing things up. Aura support team is always available to help if things need fixing.

The worst I could imagine. Customer service is non existent. Nothing ever gets fixed. The software is not user friendly at all and is probably the worst scheduling software I've ever used.

Pros

Honestly not much. There have been nothing but constant issues since we started with them in January and we're already looking for new software.

Cons

Pretty much all of it. The data import from our old system when horribly. Clients got duplicated, phone numbers got deleted, gift cards weren't transferred that still had balances on them. There are constant issues with the software itself. It freezes, blocked time randomly disappears, it loads to random days instead of the current day, texts don't send when they're supposed to. Customer service has done almost nothing to help us. They don't report their downtime accurately on the status page of their website. This makes it look like it has 100% up time which it absolutely does not. Our card terminal randomly shuts itself off and stops working, and then this in turn freezes our entire system. This software is useless and I would absolutely recommend anyone to look elsewhere for salon software.

I’ve been with Aura Software since the beginning and it has been truly a great experience. It just continues to grow and improve. I have a great support and I also feel I have a voice when I need some help with something..

Pros

It’s easy to use. Offers great tools and reports. I love the dashboard. I also appreciate the help pages, it helps onboarding a new hire with the right tools to learn the system efficiently.

Cons

Huummm, I really don’t have anything negative to say. It is always growing and improving. Anything that can be offered to bring us into the AI world would be great

I have been super happy since switching. It is easy to navigate, amazing for marketing, and client communication!

Pros

I love the built in messaging portion, as well as "sent" for target marketing. It allows us to direct message our clients and keep up communication. I love the built in express pay portion that securely stores credit cards and allows us t charge for no-shows. It also has custom forms that we can send out that our guests have to acknowledge and sign!

Cons

The thing I think I am needing the most is a "goal" tracking system for staff. We are having to use a google drive platform, and quit honestly, they are not as engaged with this method as when it was all in one seamless spot.

The software is ok but you have to go in out of so many windows to find what you are looking for. Reports are hard to understand.

Pros

I love working with \[sensitive content hidden\] but it is really hard to connect with her in an emergency. Always have to schedule an appointment that could be several days out which does not help in the moment.

Cons

The onboarding process was very weak and could never get a hold of support to help in the moment. Hardly any training is done hands on before you start operating.

As the salon manager my overall experience with Aura has been great. From the onboarding process to now, over 2 years later, it has been a great and smooth experience. Now that we are more familiar with all of the basics we are really looking forward to looking into all the added features that are offered that we are not using. I really really enjoy this booking system!

Pros

Their customer service is top notch and the design of the website is so easy to use. We have had a few technical problems since getting this software, but they are always fixed quickly!

Cons

The lack of customization can be frustrating. Our old system allowed us to set custom color for certain services and that is not available with Aura. Other than that I don't have many complaints.

My overall experience using Aura has been amazing and \[sensitive content hidden\] has been super easy to work with. She is extremely responsive and always so kind to work with. The software is easy to learn and can be adjusted in many ways.

Pros

I liked the interface for aura and how user friendly the software is. The learning curve was minimal and the help center was incredibly helpful if i was unsure how to use a feature.

Cons

There is an issue with booking a color service and hc where if you remove the finish while booking, it reappears and you must remove again, but that was my only annoyance.

Cons

I would love if Aura had individual booking links for service providers and if it were integrated with other apps like MYA and some AI receptionist companies. Every time I look to bring a new system into our salon, the company lets me know our POS system won't work with it.

Sometimes it is slow and does not work well with the terminal to process transactions. We are in the process of switching to Aura ay which will be nice

### "Unique issues with Credit Card Processing and brutal cancellation fees"

We had to stop using it and switch after 3 months because the Credit Card processing terminals would not work consistently and became a huge headache. We opted for the wireless terminals that allow mobile checkout, but they consistently dropped connection through the day resulting in interrupted processed, and the software locking up, then double and triple charges because it was not possible to tell if the charge had gone through. We have gigabit internet, blazing fast wireless and none of our other devices every drop connection. When we tried to get support from Aura tech support, we only got a response that this hadn't happened to them before. Another issue with Aura is that there are two processing companies and portals to deal with. One for card present and one for card not present. It's a bit of a pain. The onboard process was good and the people we dealt with are nice, but the act that they didn't help us with our issue meant we had to change software quick, we had a non-stop stream of clients calling us telling us they had been charged multiple times, which resulted in lots of apologies and lots of time going into the portals doing refunds. When we cancelled we had to pay a $1,000 cancellation fee, two months worth of payments $900 (for a required 60 day cancellation notice) and then a $495 charge from one of the processors because , surprise, we were on a 3 year contract. I'm sure that was buried somewhere in the fine print of the processors paperwork.

Pros

The online booking is better than most and allows stylists bios and images for clients.

Cons

Check-out and appointment scheduling is a bit cumbersome and takes too many clicks, slowing down the process. For us, credit card processing was a nightmare and more expensive than our current option. If you opt for Aura we would recommend not opting for the wireless hand-held processing terminals they offer. We were charged large cancellation fees in spite of the fact that the built-in processing did not work consistently for us.

Since bringing on Aura we have worked with a number of people- They have a great Customer Service repin \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] currently! Having a key person to go to when changing software programs is essential to the success.

Pros

Ease of use for the client- the customer facing aspect of the system is great

Having to go to their team for things such as mass pricing updates-wish we could do it

though there were some problems with integration, the software overall is easy to use and most of the problems have been fixed or are being worked on and troubleshot as we speak. The customer service is top notch and they bend over backwards to make it as easy and smooth as possible.

Pros

Smart booking and self checkin and checkout were the two biggest draws. also the two way texting with guests. integration was ok. mostly problems with the inventory being transferred correctly (still working on this) and not being up and running when we were supposed to go live.

Cons

we mainly had problems with the integration of all of our old data into the new system. client formulas were not correct and inventory wasn't matching up at all.

The team is always reachable, they take your suggestions and run with them and overall it’s simply a great company to work with.

Pros

Aura is the best software system I’ve ever used. I’ve been using them for 3.5 years now and I couldn’t imagine using another company. Their platform is easy to use, makes a seamless cash out, quick reporting, and easy online booking for clients.

Cons

The only con is that to track prebookings you need to hit the prebook button so it’s a harder stat to track.

Overall, our experience has been wonderful! It’s simple and convenient to use. It’s easy to train new employees on. 10/10 experience!

Pros

It is convenient to use! I love the features that it has to make booking clients smooth and easy. I also love the client log which makes it simple to keep track of client information.

Cons

I wish the internal side was a little bit easier to work. We have some issues with membership / subscriptions expiring and not being notified. We wish this would be fixed.

My favorite thing about aura is that I can itemize and scan products up front for clients the checkout on their own phone.

Cons

What bugs me about aura is that the system sends a message to my clients while they’re in my chair once the service is updated

Aura is a nice software that allows stylists and clients to book easy and quick. It is nice to receive a text message for when clients arrive so you are aware.

Pros

The scheduling is easy to understand based on the layout and it is simple to add clients to the schedules.

Cons

Some problems with clocking in where the button has been gone so haven’t been able to. Some days the button will be there and others it won’t.

Visual experience when clients book online. Nothing else is special but your system requires more comments

Cons

lack of intuitive commands. Icons used when words would be much better. Changing tickets that are open makes funky things happen to the schedule. Not helpful or useful

My overall experience with Aura has been very positive. I cant imagine, considering todays current market a salon without Aura.

Pros

Aura Salonware is truly intuitive. With each new release, updates are added to make my job as a stylist more efficient. Tools like Smart Booking, Client self check in and checkout allow me to move from client to client effortlessly and on time.

Cons

I use Aura Salonware exclusively on my phone. While I actively find ways to spend less time on my phone to be more present, Aura allows me to book clients fast and efficiently.
