I've been using Aura Salonware for over a year now and I am very happy with the system. Integrating Fullsteam payments helps streamline my financial record keeping and the data driven marketing options are genius. In my experience the customer service was wonderful and very patient in helping onboard me onto the software to help set my business up for success.

Pros

Aura has fantastic and responsive customer service and wrap around business management tools, from reports to payment processing and marketing features, etc.

Cons

The Help Center videos could be a but more intuitive and comprehensive from a search perspective, I couldn't always find the answers to needed questions, but customer support has been very responsive.

I'm pleased we made the switch in 2020 and love the constant updates/upgrades. The online booking feature is a big hit for us.

Pros

Our representative \[sensitive content hidden\] is always a hug helping hand! She's available to help us with any technical problems, hiccups, and overall understanding of how to use Aura to it's best. Everyone we have ever dealt with has been ready to help us understand better in any way they can. So thankful for the team! I love the Sent feature to allow us to communicate via text with clients as most of them prefer this method.

Cons

I wish there were features for example for price increases to do an overall increase or for pricing entry for product to have the ability to conquer more at once aside from pine to line entry.

Aura Salonware is very easy to use and very easy to learn for newcomers. Their training videos are uber helpful, as well as the rest of the tools they have built it. They seem to have thought of almost everything that a salon would want to put into their software, which makes it that much better and efficient. I would recommend this to any stylist or salon looking to switch things up and make their lives a little easier!

Pros

Aura Salonware has wonderful customer service. I can count on them any time during our workday to assist with any issues we may be having, big or small. When we originally made the switch to Aura from our previous computer system, they made our transition quite seamless and were very efficient in the process. I love how user friendly the software is and how accommodating they are with changes.

Cons

Nothing! Any issue we’ve ever had with Aura has been resolved relatively quickly with help from their great customer support team.

Pros

Makes scheduling clients much easier and organized. What I like most about Aura is how user-friendly and visually organized it is—it makes scheduling so smooth, efficient, and easy to adjust on the fly, even during a busy salon day.

Cons

Nothing, amazing software. If I had to choose something, I’d say there’s always room for small improvements—but overall, no complaints at all. The system runs smoothly and gets the job done without causing any issues or confusion.

Overall my experience has been pretty good. I have seen Aura grow since we have been with them in 2021.

Pros

The software itself is pretty easy to use. I like that they are integrated with Aveda and help us to track benchmarks we use right at our fingertips.

Cons

Customer support and the marketing capabilities. The support is not quick. If you are in a bind during a work day it isn't always easy to get help. The email and text capabilities could be more with the times.

It has been a great supportive experience. I think the software has evolved in amazing ways over the past few years. Having the AuraPay option has been a GREAT addition for our small business. I truly feel like our business is growing alongside of and because of Aura!

Pros

Aura's customer service has been incredible since the beginning. Having someone to answer questions and assist me on utilizing the software makes it so much more valuable.

Cons

I don't dislike the software at all. I think the only thing that is complicated is that in the email function. If they unsubscirbe from a marketing email, they also unsubscribe from confirmation emails.

It's been great. The staff at Aura is wonderful \[sensitive content hidden\] is alway's very helpful. managing clients is so easy.

Pros

Very easy to use is a great price. Love being able to text client about there appointments and making changes.

Cons

Sometime it's hard to find what you are looking for. But staff is very helpful and reliable. Wish they could update the videos in help section.

Pros

Aura is very easy to use and navigate. Customer support is quick to respond and helpful. New team members can learn the system quickly.

Cons

It would be great if Aura interfaced with Aveda. While I like the addition of features it would be nice if some were included in the base price it is getting a bit expensive monthly

I really like this salon software overall it’s clean, easy to navigate, and makes managing appointments so much more organized. It definitely helps the salon run more efficiently and professionally. The only thing I wish it had is a feature that automatically notifies stylists when there are changes to their schedules or books. Sometimes appointments are moved or updated, and it would be super helpful for everyone to get an instant alert. Otherwise, it’s a great system!

Pros

I like how the software is set up modern, simple, and easy to get the hang of! The client booking system is smooth, and I love how it keeps track of formulas, notes, and purchase history all in one place.

Cons

I wish when new appointments were added to a hairstylists book that a notification would be sent to their phone. There have been times where walk ins are added last minute and it would be nice to be notified. Otherwise stylist are constantly having to check the site and worry is about potentially being unaware of having a client if it is added last minute

Working with the Aura team was the selling and staying point- their support is amazing and unmatched!

Pros

Aura is complex in its abilities but easy for a team to use! Comprehensive, useful and efficient! Great reporting, access for service providers and consistent willingness to enhance with new technology!

Cons

There are some issues with marketing that could enhance the features. Marketing should consider full client list versus lists by location- for those utilizing it at a multi location level.

Aura is a sleek, forward-thinking platform with great potential but still needs polish, but we undertand they are constatntly updating

Pros

user-friendly interface and how intuitive it felt compared to older salon systems. The online booking and automated confirmations saved our front desk a lot of time, and the reporting features gave great visibility into staff performance and client trends.

Cons

What I liked least was the lack of customization options for services like colors It felt very “one size fits all,” which didn’t work well for a multi-location setup like ours.

Overall very happy with the software, and would recommend it to other salon professionals. very easy to use.

Pros

As a stylist I love that I can book my own appointments on my phone in out out of the salon, and I can run my own reports to make sure I'm hitting my numbers / goals.

Cons

Sometimes its runs slow and takes a few minuets to check clients in or out. I wish when you left notes in clients files they would pop up asap when they call to move their appointment or to book an appointment .

Sometimes got glitchy, would not connect to our server. Other times can charge extra or multiple times.

Thumbs down. Being locked in by a year contract should have been the first red flag. The second giant red flag was when leaving Aura Salonware to move our data to a new provider - they wanted $750 for us to get OUR OWN data (client notes, formulas, appointment history and sales).

Pros

Smart Booking is the only great feature that Aura Salonware has. It's honestly a feature that every single salon software should come standard with.

Cons

It broke our confidence and trust multiple times. We faced daily errors and booking issues from clients. The software was unintuitive, causing headaches for both staff and customers. These glitches led to thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

Aura has been great, I have been working with it for about 2 and a half years and have had very minimal issues.

Pros

Aura is very easy to use and straightforward. The process of training employees is very fast since the software has so many different ways to achieve the same outcomes.

Cons

Certain glitches in the calendars make it difficult to access things easily and haven’t yet been fixed. (When you go to book an appointment, the calendar that shows in the sidebar doesn’t always respond to selecting certain things and you have to restart the process.

There is nothing I don't like about the program it has everything I need, only at the beginning they never had drag and drop and now they do lol!

i have been using Aura for years now and think it is the best software I have used this far. I like that they have interaction with the clients and keep updating the system as needed. i have joined calls and online classes that have been fun and community connecting.

Pros

that it is user friendly, and you can book online, staff can see there schedules, it is easy to see you daily numbers at a glance.

Cons

that i feel like there are some holes in the analytics. i would love to be able to see online booking numbers for each staff member

Overall, I do like using Aura and whenever I show our software to a new hire, they are so impressed with how paperless and tech-friendly everything is, especially the fact that we are able to text not only our stylists for a digital check in, but we can two-way-text with guests which is super helpful

Pros

Very tech-forward which makes accessing formulas and notes very easy, as well as the user interface being pretty easy to navigate. scheduling is super easy to do as well as managing/moving appointments

Cons

sometimes there are network connection issues (not wifi, but aura related) which makes the checkout process pretty long, but most of the time that issue is resolved quickly

Amazing, so glad I switched from Salon Biz. Everyone is so helpful and my clients love the reminders and that they can book online!

Pros

The appointment management, client management and online booking are the best! It makes it so easy to book and doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Any time I ever needed phone support on how to do something, I was able to talk to someone right away! Thanks so much!

Cons

That I can't see everything on my phone that I can on my computer. Especially the register so when my girls need help I have to try and get my laptop out.

Pros

Ease of use for salon and clients. User friendly for our front desk staff and for our clients. The express pay feature is super helpful as well

Cons

Sometimes it is slow and does not work well with the terminal to process transactions. We are in the process of switching to Aura ay which will be nice

i dislike that it can be hard to search for clients. the search engine for it isn’t the greatest and doesn’t list every single client.

I'd say it has been overall positive. I was able to learn all the shortcuts quickly which made it very easy to use. It was very easy as well to train new hires on they learned it quickly as well.

Pros

This software is very easy to use and I learned my way around it very quickly! I like all the shortcuts it has.

Cons

Some bugs at the beginning of using but have since been fixed. Something I wish it would fix would be having the card on file transfer over to different location and I wish it would have an app instead of just a website.

The team is always reachable, they take your suggestions and run with them and overall it’s simply a great company to work with.

Pros

Aura is the best software system I’ve ever used. I’ve been using them for 3.5 years now and I couldn’t imagine using another company. Their platform is easy to use, makes a seamless cash out, quick reporting, and easy online booking for clients.

Cons

The only con is that to track prebookings you need to hit the prebook button so it’s a harder stat to track.
