Pre and post sales support has also been excellent. Pros I've used several MDMs and kandji is, by a long way, the best. It's intuitive and really simple to use. Also, auto apps - genius feature, saves me time manually updating apps. Cons Honestly, not much. It would be nice to add a new library item to an assignment map when creating the item. It would be nice if I didn't have to press the login button twice after a timeout lock. Maneuvering through the platform is simple and I never have to worry about getting lost. Cons My biggest concern/issue with Kandji, is the lacking capability to use geo location for the Macs. Once you configure ABM (or DEP as it used to be called) the experience for a new user is great. They get a new Mac, they login in, everything gets deployed AND stays updated. Pros Setup is simple, tech support is excellent, it's one of the rare products that works just as expected. Pros The granularity of the platform, the various configurations available to dial into each team. Once you understand how it works and the various flags, it's easy to get to work in the system. I also like how lightweight the MDM is compared to competitors. Cons I've noticed that the majority of local user account lockouts occur when the device has lost internet connectivity from the time it was last powered down until it boots back up. Additionally, I've had no complaints from my colleagues, which says a lot. Pros It provides enterprise-grade features but is accessible to a part-time IT admin like me. For example, when I needed to update my Apple Business certificates, Kandji walked me thought the process step by step. Cons The user interface still has a learning curve. It relies on the concept of blueprints that get applied to different user types. Within each blueprint, you add library items. Then to enable add-ons like EDR, you add them as library items. Its all pretty seamless when you get the hang of it, but its a complicated set of interlocking concepts for part-time IT admins like me. It's really simplified how we manage our devices. Pros Kandji simplifies and streamlines all of our device management. We're a small organisation so always thought that Kandji would be out of our budget, but I was pleasantly surprised! Absolutely critical part of our ISO27001 readiness. Cons Their offering isn't necessarily designed for small, growing teams like ours yet. I have to email an actual human whenever I want to add a user which is bonkers. Though it's handled really quickly and with good humour! No waiting for a pre-configured laptop to ship from HQ. I just installed the Kandji MDM and security software, policies and settings were automatically set up. Pros It was incredibly easy to get my new laptop configured and in compliance with company security standards. Cons There were literally no drawbacks. I guess it could be frustrating to some that MDM prevents them from downloading and installing whatever they want but working for a security company, I understand that there are certain things that must be locked down. June 21, 2025 5.0 My experience with Kandji has been fantastic from the start. It is the first MDM we use in my company and the tool guided us through the whole process. The automatic updates of the applications we set up works very well and we have been able to deploy many security options to protect all our computers. Pros Easy of use. Powerful configurations. Applying security configurations with CIS standard has helped us a lot to improve our security posture. MacOS application and version updates keep us always up to date. Cons Nothing really. Using the tool has been a generally positive experience for us. We would perhaps improve the application catalog a bit to include a little more software, but overall everything has been positive. Onboarding was a breeze, the GUI is very intuitive, the app-store and application deployment was full-featured vs competitors. We're glad we chose Kandji for our corporate device management. Cons A minor point, and one consistent across vendors and products; the SSO integration for local sign in with an IDP is a tricky process, but Kandji support got us through it. I found both lacking in the ability to mange our applications. My favoriate part is the Kandji app library. This saves me hours in keeping apps updated manually on other platforms. Cons I would like for them to have a password storage manager like OnePassword or Lastpass. Otherwise, no other issues. Pros I like how intuitive it is to use. Coming from JAMF our previous MDM Kandji is much easier to manage and use. Cons I wish the reporting was better. For example when exporting a CSV from the devices window pain I wish there was an option to export all available reporting categories instead of needing to adjust my view. Also there is no real reporting options for how the devices get patched which is an issue when going through yearly audits.
