Finance Manager Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Highly capable and scalable commission platform" June 7, 2021 5.0 We were taking 1-2 weeks to finalize commissions before trying to implement Xactly SimplyComp. CIQ helps us solve for faster calculations (1-2 days turnaround), as well as quick ASC606-compliant JEs for the accounting team. Pros CaptivateIQ is based on Excel formulas and logic. If you know how to model your commission structure in Excel, you'll feel at home in CaptivateIQ. When you run calculations on a monthly basis, they will take a couple minutes only. Due to the flexibility of the platform, "anything is possible" in terms of accommodating complex plans. The Implementation and CS teams have all been top notch, and willing to help. Cons The flexibility of the software can be a double-edged sword at times. There are a hundred ways to do everything, and just like a complex excel model, there will be unforeseen challenges that arise from time to time. As a fairly young company with fairly new people handling your implementation, the quality of your implementation may vary from person to person. The "white glove" implementation is worth it unless you have very simple comp plans. Alternatives considered [Spiff](https://www.capterra.com/p/197425/Spiff/) Reason for choosing CaptivateIQ Flexibility was key, and having the 606 solution in the same box was helpful as well. December 5, 2025 5.0 In my opinion Captivate is a perfect compromise between the efficiency of ERP system which is very effective but takes team of consultants to implement a simple change and the flexibility of Excel spreadsheet. It's a perfect tool for commissions team to handle everything commissions related and report on it. Pros Mainly how easy it is to implement and learn plus the flexibility it offers. Pair that with speed and efficiency of the system that also helps with planning/simulation and it's honestly the best commissions product I've used in my entire career. The ease of implementing even the most complex plans allows you to keep everything in one place and therefore track spending and performance. It is also extremely easy to use for the end users and when you get stuck you can count on instant support from their team. I would definitely recommend this product. Cons It's not so much the product's fault but the great flexibility it offers can turn against you if your organisation is not careful with plan design. Sometimes it would be easier to just be able to say 'no, this can't be done in our system' to some of the exotic, one off requests. Review Source RW Rita W. Pros Captivate is easy to login to. It is hard to list a lot of things I like when the information entered is not enough Cons It may not be a Captivate IQ issue, may be a BD issue. In general, I have very positive sentiment towards the tool and find that I would recommend it to my colleagues or companies that I work for in the future. Pros It is very easy to use and the click paths to accomplish what I need in the tool are limited. The tool also gives me access to historical commission information that is very helpful for me to understand how I am performing against my plan. Extremely easy to learn and quite customizable. Cons There is not much I don’t like about CIQ. It genuinely is a night and day difference from an awful system we previously used. Our finance and sales leaders both appreciate how quickly we can adjust plans as the business evolves. Support has also been responsive and helpful.
