We use our own players running android and on the whole have not had any major issues. Pros It works well. Does as we would expect. Multiple content upload options including dynamic data which is important to us. Cons Its interface is a bit dated and could do with being modernised in some ways. September 23, 2025 5.0 xibo is very successful with its open source and community version. Creating design menus and playlists is very quick and easy. Pros I use and like xibo because it is open source and has a community version. I use and love Xibo because it's open source and has a community edition. Installation is very easy. There's plenty of documentation for installation support. It's a great value for the money. I haven't had any issues with customer support so far. Menu navigation and screen management are clear and user-friendly. Creating a design menu and playlist is quick and easy. Cons I found it a drawback that the xibo cms wasn't published directly via Plesk servers. I'd like it to be published on Plesk without the need for Docker. Improvements have been made to configure widgets, particularly related to how they work. For me they are easier to configure. Also layout configuration is easier. I don't use a lot of widgets and my layouts are simple, so I can't talk about more complex designs and configurations. For my purpose, it does exactly what I need. Never had issues with my account being compromised. Never had issues configuring the screens where i'm sharing content. Pros XIBO Cloud is an easy to use solution. The price is fair. Is easy to configure, needs a little practice but after setting is just repeating. I haven't the need to ask for customer support, I have been able to manage and configure with the available documentation and forums. Cons I think the documentation needs a little bit of updating. Sometimes I found that the information of some widgets is outdated. The value for mony is excellent, I don't think there are better solutiuons for signage within SME's. Pros Easy to use, very flexible as to what types of devices are supported. We use it for within our office to show everything from internal messages to weather updates and even the latest standings in football leagues. Its easy to vary information on display based on location or time. Regular updates for bug and issues, both on the backend and the players. Cons Altough easy to use its hard to master. There are a lot of advanced options that take some time to learn and understand. The user interface on the backend is a bit tricky. On the other hand the avanced options make it very powerfull. Cons Sometimes it can be difficult to find settings within Xibo, especially in the left navigation bar as it gets quite long for users with full admin access. We are able to cast our weekly workflow to seperate factorys from the comfort of the office. Pros Functions great and easy to use once everything is setup. Cost is also reasonable. the dashboard is easy to use. Cons I bit tricky to setup initially, but once done it runs will clock work. a bit difficult for some of the less it literate members of staff. Our aeronautical production is also equipped with KPI dashboards for each production line, entirely powered by Power BI and displayed via Xibo. Pros The multitude of different media that can be displayed in Xibo, especially Power BI reports. We currently use it on more than 30 screens in our aeronautical production workshops. Cons Xibo doesn't suffer from any major issues. We did have some diffuculties to connect link from Xibo to Microsoft. It's also worth noting that WebOS licenses are still not free. The official Xibo boxes perform much better and are worth the investment if reliability is a priority. Pros Reliable and stable platform that delivers content consistently across our screens. Once set up, it just works without constant maintenance or intervention needed. Cons The interface can be very confusing and is not very intuitive. Navigation feels clunky, and finding specific settings or features often takes longer than it should. A cleaner UX would make a big difference. August 27, 2025 4.0 Xibo is a great tool for people who want an open-source CMS they can install on their own host, but the learning curve is a bit steeper than with other CMSs. This is due to its interface. Pros It's a very comprehensive, low-cost, secure, stable content management tool that's compatible with most current operating systems. It's great to be able to use it on your own host. Cons There are many processes, such as content scheduling, that aren't as simple. I think they could improve on that, as well as on several details of their interface. All of this compared to other CMSs.
