When self-hosting, installation sometimes does not work even when following the manual. Also, I'd like to see an improvement to the issue of not being able to launch multiple Xibo sites on the same port number on a single server. Pros Despite being open source, it boasts advanced functionality and is constantly being updated. It also comes with a Docker version, making it extremely easy to install. Cons First, its Japanese support is weak. When self-hosting, some PHP modules do not install properly. It also only supports older versions of MySQL. The user interface is clear anche my customers love it. The learning curve is very fast because the system is very intuitive with a simple side menu. I think that the level of security is hight. I've not found bugs and issues. Cons The user interface and the simplicity of the system are my favourite features because also my clients have no problems to use it. Lots of help on the forums with help doing what ever you want. The community is so helpful. Cons Sometimes the learning curve can be a bit steep on some of the more complex tasks, but in saying that there is always someone that can point you in the direction. " March 5, 2026 5.0 Excellent, everyone asks about the display and we spread the good word. Much better experience compared to ones we used before. Have no experience with support because gladly we never needed to call one in two years. Pros Ease of screen management and flexibility. Feature rich designs and secure to deploy. Much better value for money compared to others. Cons Some template transitions were slow and would not shift sooth in few templates. But they been fixed in the new version upgrade. Pros me gusta que puedes actualizar varios dispositivos desde un solo lugar. el diseñador que tiene esta muy bueno. Cons la interfaz debería mejorar y ser un poco mas amigable si simple para el usuario. muchas veces el usuario no recuerda como subir videos por todas las opciones que tiene. estan muy buenas todas las opciones que tiene xibo, pero aveces solo quieres subir un video o imagen y que se visualice simplemente sin tantas opciones. There are still some features I don't know much about, like "Templates". I miss some more films about "how to use xibo". Pros I appreciat the low price. Both, the support tickets and support forum are great. The answers using tickets is amazing good. Cons The GUI is not great. I've used both Xibo 1.8 and Xibo v4. When teaching my users, they struggle to understand how Xibo works. It is easier to use Canva to make layouts, than using Xibo. But over time, I learned how to use it, and the ease of management helped me a lot. I'm very happy to have Xibo as my indoor media platform. Cons I have some difficulty creating new layouts. However, the learning curve is a bit steep. I'm going to look at other platforms before committing. Pros The price for ongoing service was the first item that caught my eye compared to the competitors. It appears to have the ability to do many incredible things. The ability to set it and forget it with multiple displays across several locations as also attractive. Cons Not intuitive for a non-technical user. Interface was clumsy. Unfortunately, I was unable to impress myself with my two week trial in producing content using their software. I ended up using Canva and other apps to produce the ads and while that wasn't a real downside the ability to easily publish the content was very frustrating. August 13, 2025 4.0 I can generally use Xibo, but I see that there are already other options, including for Wordpress, which I like using so far. Overall happy with Xibo the support is friendly. Pros I've been using Xibo for years, and I still find it difficult to understand, the learning curve is long. It should have a more accessible price for Brazil, given the price of the dollar here. Cons I think it's a bit expensive due to the Dollar conversion in Brazil, it's difficult to update the CMS, and I don't like charging for versions, as it's stated that it's a perpetual license. The hosted versions mean you can try out even quite a sizeable deployment without making long-term commitments upfront. Works on a good variety of hardware - although cheaper single board computer support (dare I say Pi!) would be a huge extra bonus. The Windows version being free / open source is a great move. Cons Hosted versions have quite restrictive bandwidth limits if frequent updates are required. Cons Setting the time interval is proving difficult; for example, I need to display a poster once per hour.
