Every day, we learn new things that Xibo provides. Pros When I first started using Xibo, I didn't know anything about it or how to use it. But over time, I learned how to use it, and the ease of management helped me a lot. I'm very happy to have Xibo as my indoor media platform. Cons I have some difficulty creating new layouts. However, the learning curve is a bit steep. I'm going to look at other platforms before committing. Pros The price for ongoing service was the first item that caught my eye compared to the competitors. It appears to have the ability to do many incredible things. The ability to set it and forget it with multiple displays across several locations as also attractive. Cons Not intuitive for a non-technical user. Interface was clumsy. Unfortunately, I was unable to impress myself with my two week trial in producing content using their software. I ended up using Canva and other apps to produce the ads and while that wasn't a real downside the ability to easily publish the content was very frustrating. The hosted versions mean you can try out even quite a sizeable deployment without making long-term commitments upfront. Works on a good variety of hardware - although cheaper single board computer support (dare I say Pi!) would be a huge extra bonus. The Windows version being free / open source is a great move. Cons Hosted versions have quite restrictive bandwidth limits if frequent updates are required. For outdoor we can use brands like Philips and Tizen as well as webos Pros First of all cost and flexibility. Being open source is essential. Xibo gives the opportunity to use it as a reseller. Cons Update time is a bit long generally a couple of minutes. Should have more documentation on the real time capabilities like XMR. August 13, 2025 4.0 I can generally use Xibo, but I see that there are already other options, including for Wordpress, which I like using so far. Overall happy with Xibo the support is friendly. Pros I've been using Xibo for years, and I still find it difficult to understand, the learning curve is long. It should have a more accessible price for Brazil, given the price of the dollar here. Cons I think it's a bit expensive due to the Dollar conversion in Brazil, it's difficult to update the CMS, and I don't like charging for versions, as it's stated that it's a perpetual license. Xibo basically includes all the media you need. The price is an absolute steal. The user guide is also clear and easy to follow. Cons Setting the time interval is proving difficult; for example, I need to display a poster once per hour. The rollout of new displays is perfectly simple. Cons The GUI isn't that self-explaining like I would wish it to be. Pros For the price, it is the best I could have purchased to display my promotions in all my branches.... Cons It would need to be a little more intuitive. It's a easy backend system for our iIT-admins as well as the marketing team. The marketing team is managing over 150 players/screens on different locations with the system. Pros Easy system and players. And great value for the money. For marketeers it's an easy to use system and can manage many players all togheter. Cons UI is bit outdated and some parts of the system can be difficult. And some connections to external systems is not possible or very difficult. I think UX could have some improvements. Pros Fairly basic, not trying to oversell us. Has decent layout capability, and options for more advanced configurations. Cons Layout leaves a bit to be desired, it is not particularly clear without following documentation how to set everything up, as different sections interlink. When I've managed Docker - it works as a charm. We're gonna use it as signage system on conferences. Pros Price and that it works :) After few hours of learning experience I was able to make layouts and schedules that I need. Cons Xibo is hard to deploy as Docker Image. You should make better documentation for that. Making docker image that works "out of the box" is quite important! Had to resort to using a template with an existing region. Pros I like that its Open Source. I can host it myself and make any changes I want to the implementation. The android client was easy to install on the sharp displays. Cons Complexity of creating a screen. The screen creation seems to revolved around creating a region. PR & Marketing Specialist Public Relations and Communications Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Product for Institution with Multiple Locations" January 17, 2023 5.0 This product allows us to do exactly what we need to do and so far customer service has bee great. Pros This product allows us to control multiple screens at four separate campus locations and have separate playlists for each. This accommodates the fact that each of our locations may have different information that needs to be shared or events that need to be advertised. Cons I was not part of the integration process as I came on with our institution in 2019 and we were already using Xibo at that point. It has been updated within my time here and we are pleased with the features we have now.
