Because our team supports technology rollouts and then transitions that training over to the business units, Vyond has been a vital tool for us. It allows us to rapidly design high-quality, standardized L&D content that actually captures our learners' attention. Their platform security gives us the peace of mind we need when working with internal corporate messaging, and their customer support team is consistently responsive if we ever need to troubleshoot. It has significantly elevated the quality of our instructional designs before we hand them off to our partners. Pros The intuitive drag-and-drop video creation makes it incredibly easy for me and my Learning team to quickly build engaging training for technology rollouts and process changes. The dynamic animations are fantastic for driving audience engagement during what can otherwise be dry system training. It also makes video editing accessible enough that we can establish standard templates, making it much easier to transition ownership of the final assets to our learning partners and support teams. Cons While the platform offers strong value for money when it comes to rapid development, the enterprise licenses can be a significant investment for a growing team. Additionally, when we are trying to visualize very specific, complex internal technology platforms or strictly align with PCBC branding, the pre-set character actions and assets can sometimes feel a bit rigid. Pros I have been using Vyond as an instructional designer for a number of years. In that time I have found a number of ways to use it to greatly enhance my materials. It's constant evolution via its enhancements and new features has enabled me, on numerous occasions, to keep my own content fresh and innovative. Also, their support team is extremely efficient. I have never had to wait for a response or resolution to any problem. Cons If I had to choose anything, i do find it a little frustrating to see announcements of new features or enhancements (such as new text-to-speech voices) that would seem to be part of my subscription package and then turn out to only be available at a higher subscription level. I love the customization of the characters, that Vyond continues to expand its product capabilities even with small upgrades like allowing characters to have a company logo embedded on them. Speaks volumes in my eyes when a product doesn't sit on its haunches and become archaic but keeps investing in itself. Pros It makes it quicker and easier to make more memorable training. Animating this level of detail would take ages comparatively. Truly a game changer! Cons Would love being able to have a little more control over the character actions themselves (control timing/speed, transitioning between actions). Cons Das ist der Grund warum ich überhaupt diese Rezension schreibe, ich habe lange darüber nachgedacht. Das größte Problem ist die Text-to-Speech Funktion. Eigentlich müsste man nach jedem Tex-to-speech Feld zwischenspeichern (was nicht automatisch passiert). Denn das hinterlegen von Text-to-Speech führt sehr oft zum Absturz. Dabei ist es egal, ob ich nur ein Wort schreibe oder 600 Wörter. Dementsprechend muss ich teilweise bei Videos mit 6-11 Szenen, 20 mal meinen Text eingeben. You can use avatars and plug in your own voice-over (at a higher subscription tier) or you can use animated avatars with your own voice-over or text to speech. Vyond comes with a good stock music, video, photo, character and template library. You can even use AI to generate a quick video - with some editing. Pros Vyond can do many different things for a reasonable price - and their are different price tiers so you choose which package suits your needs. You can do animations, videos, avatar videos, video editing, text to speech, and that's just the beginning. Great versatile product to create professional videos quickly. Cons It would be nice to have access to all features at the entry level price but it least you can use most of the product's features for a low subscription price. It would be nice to be able to buy it once but it is based on a subscription model. Users enjoy watching the animations. It has also given us a better product as far as creating "how to" videos. Pros Easy to use and great text-to-speech voices. It is designed so I can make a animation that looks good, or I can get more into the weeds and be creative! I also like that I have the ability to add logo's and create my own custom color swatch. Cons Options for editing photos and images within the program. With a dose of creative thinking, Vyond is great for creating engaging videos. Pros Vyond has some good flexibility when it comes to the types of videos and animations that can be created. The video editing is easy and it definitely helps with capturing audience engagement and attention when used creatively. Cons Video editing can be a little slow. It takes Vyond a little bit to load and catch up to the edits that are made in each scene before they are displayed in preview. This can slow the process a little bit. Animations can also feel a little clunky when having characters transition from one animation to the next. Pros Vyond’s user interface makes it easy to create rich animations for use in eLearning courses and as standalone videos. It’s an excellent value for the money because not only does it have a large stock library of assets, but you can upload custom images to use as assets, which makes it very versatile. In addition, the ability to customize avatars to look like personnel at the company really increases engagement. Cons The user interface has a bit of a learning curve, and some of its functionality, requires multiple clicks to access, so it can feel a little repetitive sometimes while editing, but it’s the price you have to pay sometimes for a plug and play application that is this powerful. Cons There are some differences between scene animation and from scratch actions. I would like to be able to overlay an object with an action to a template and have them match up. However, after seeing the results from another team in the business I lobbied hard to get it. I have not been disappointed! Pros Easy to create basic video content rapidly using Vyond Go, and even with non-AI Vyond, video creation is simple and intuitive. Translations are excellent, translating voiceover, captions and even text on screen. Excellent choice of music and accents. Reviewing and amending translations is easy as well - an excellent product! Cons It can take a long time to hone and perfect a video; some of the voices are less than convincing; editing objects is awkward; there is no capacity to store pronunciations of e.g. company name. It helps me to work Agile by eliminating the need to wait for Voice Over Specialist because the HQ voice-over voices sound extremely human like. On top of that, it's an amazing tool for storytelling creation, even for gamification purposes. Pros The animation effects are amazing, the new HQ voice-overs are impressive because they sound human like and the lip-sync is very good. The character creator could offer more options, but it certainly offers good enough variety to create a similar version of yourself or others. Combining actions like for example walking into an scene and then saying high is pretty easy to setup with motion path and you can even select in what direction the character is looking. Cons Every time you want to Preview and scene, you have to wait a few seconds. When using it for a long time, it would be better to refresh the web browser to reduce loading. It requires a very high-speed internet connection. April 14, 2021 4.0 Vyond has been our authoring tool of choice for short, animated video clips to insert into eLearning modules, but we've also used it to create entire videos for system training (by importing screenshots and overlaying narration, etc.). It has several animation styles, which makes it versatile, and it's a fun tool with a shallow learning curve and a low price. Pros Vyond is a flexible, intuitive, easy-to-use platform for video creation. It offers many options to create both business and personal videos using a multitude of characters (including customized characters), backgrounds, and props - and is even better since they added voice synchronization. I was once asked to create a team intro video that contained elements like ever-multiplying flying turtles and a character bellydancing and singing Shakira, and Vyond made it possible. Not just any platform can handle a request like that for this price! Cons I love Vyond - but if there's anything missing, I'd say it could use a few more poses. Also, while it's possible to add and manipulate custom props and backgrounds, this can be an involved process. It's also a fun way to cover business processes. It's very easy to use if you have some basic video creation and editing experience. But it doesn't take too long to catch on, if you have no experience given the number of tutorials available from Vyond and through Youtube. Pros Vyond subscription comes with lots of assets, including characters with actions that you can sync to narration. There are also a number of templates to help you start your business animation quickly. The customer support is availalble and there are always webinars to help you fine tune your animations. I love that everything is contained in the cloud and that you can upload additional assets for use in your Vyond account or to share with your team account. Cons To improve the platform, I would add more sound editing features to Vyond. While you can sync audio to characters and connect it to scenes, editing from the timeline is cumbersome. At the very least, I would like to mark a spot in audio, so I know exactly the spot to cut rather than just estimating. But right now, 'undo' is heavily used when attempting to edit audio. As a bonus feature, it would be great if the robot voices for the text to speech were improved and would handle more text. It creates very dynamic scene possibilities that help get our message across in an attractive manner. Cons Sometimes getting a quick playback of scenes to check syncing without rendering out the entire video made the process longer than I would have liked, but over all it was still a good experience. We are a corporation of over 20+ employees globally. Our internal learners love the animation features and how easy it is to bring content on the page to life within our learning courses or via engaging communication videos. Pros The product is very easy to use and the provided templates give you a great starting point and are easily editable. It is great to see Vyond also constantly update templates, props, and characters and update features of the tool itself periodically to make it more user friendly. Cons The camera pan/zoom feature is extremely limited. Having the ability to customize the size of the zoom in window would greatly increase the customization of screen content. It is one of the most frustrating aspects of the tool. Also, the character editor, while neat, is lacking in many areas, especially with customizable hair styles and clothing options. They are extremely popular with our salesforce. Pros Intuitive ease of use. Cloud based software can be used from anywhere. Little or no latency. Fast and dependable. Cons Copy and paste text from one screen to another. It's a pain sometimes to hit Cltrl V to paste. Would like to see more character movement options, like someone stepping into a slide with one step. More character emotion options. I make dozens of these videos. All of the uploaded audio/graphic files used to create are in a single subdirectory. Wish you could separate them into their individual video directory. We've had staff reach out asking to create new videos because they saw a Vyond video and felt that it would be a great vehicle for their topic. Pros The ability to showcase or develop an e-learning based on a soft skill (e.g., presentation skills, communication skills, managing remote teams, etc.) without having to rely on static images or slides which was how we typically did this. The customizable avatars, scenes, and animated quality of the visuals bring a new dynamic to our company wide training pushes which has been receiving very positive reviews from staff. Cons There is not the ability to incorporate clicks or learner interaction with the video. Would be nice to incorporate a different output format (HTML5) where a user could interact with a quiz or a "choose your own adventure" type story.
