Director Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Easy to implement for micro-learning" April 13, 2021 5.0 I've enjoyed their monthly webinars on functionality and I also enjoyed the personal one-on-one review of Vyond from my assigned Vyond team member when we first purchased the licenses. Overall, these videos are impactful and they serve as a great vehicle for micro-learning - a form of learning very much in demand in my organization currently. Pros The created video is easy to implement for micro-learning. Vyond's features, for the most part, are easy to use. For those features that require additional help, I usually can find answers in the help section. The videos are always well received within my organization and have helped convey critical content - especially in the era of Covid. I also really enjoy the templates that Vyond regularly puts out. Cons The interface could be a little more user friendly especially with adding audio. I struggled with learning this early on and while the help function was somewhat helpful, it took me playing around with this feature to understand how to incorporate it. We have already used Vyond to create tutorials for new software that staff have to use. We plan to use this to train on policies for greater impact and memory retention. We also plan to create videos to use to supplement virtual classes for our clients. Pros I love that this software allows me (non-graphic-design-inclined) to create engaging and creative videos to train staff in a way that has more impact and memory retention than documents, emails or PowerPoint trainings. Without attending a tutorial, I was able to create a video with animations, voice-over audio and music. The software is very intuitive. For any unclear features, they use their own tool to create short informational videos to answer help topics. Cons I wish there was a way to create an animation path in a curve or other non-straight line. The template library is vast, however, there were still some needs that I had which I had to manually create. Hopefully they continue to grow this library as users increase. Pros There is a learning curve, but once you learn how to use it it's fairly simple and effective. You can upload your own video as well which is nice. Cons There should be a few more templates for videos, especially for the price. Along with more templates, more pre-made characters should be available. You can create your own, but it is a timestaking process. The price looks scary at first for an annual subscription, but if you use it it's well worth it. I've tried a lot of other software but they were very complicated, Vyond was the best option for my college projects. I totally liked the customized voices feature and that they offer a high-quality format in the free trial. Never used it again because the style options and features were basic and irrelevant. It took a long time to come up with an animation that matched my project. Not what I expected for the money I paid. I am especially disappointed that my credit card was charged a renewal without any prior notice. Now I'm out $600 on this lame product. Very disappointing. Pros Not much. The animations were lame and irrelevant. Cons The options were very limited. It didn't have the backgrounds, props and scenery that would have worked for the story I was telling. I had to really improvise which as very time consuming for an end product that felt a bit hokey. Pros The software is web based and I can use it anywhere. It is also intuitive you can learn the tool without a lot of training. Cons There are some movement limitations in creating your videos. For example if you want to add movement the character agility is somewhat stiff. Also, from time to time there are technical issues such as frequent reloading, freezing or static in the recording. First software I’ve used for animations. Easier to learn and use than Adobe Animate where you would have to create the characters from scratch. I like that you can add narration and sync it with characters. You can also customize characters and it’s been so helpful that PPE features have been added. Cons Sometimes it freezes and I also don’t like that I have to preview to see a scene. I’d like to play it without having to preview and scrub through the time line. I’d also like to be able to add overlays a lot easier for example adjusting shapes over images. Reason for choosing Vyond Ease of use, look and feel, very clean, renders HD. Captions enabled. Pros You can easily build custom characters to fit with the people in your company. personalized cartoon figures help your customer associate your video with your company. Is it really easy to upload your own branding, voiceovers, and any other element you need to tell your story. Cons I would prefer a single yearly fee that was around $100. As it is I will sign up a couple of months a year on and off. I would love to have it all year but as a sole business, I can't afford it. It's like with canvas, even though it is monthly the fee is low. So I keep it all year. I use it all the time much more than I thought I would. I think it would be the same with Vyond if I could afford to have it all the time. It would make an excellent marketing tool. Reason for choosing Vyond Ease of use. With the free trial I was easily able to see that it was so user-friendly I didn't even need tutorials to know how to use it. June 19, 2022 5.0 Pros Vyond is my number 1 choice for creating animated videos for my business marketing, training material etc. I liked their easy to use features, and mostly the pricing. If I hired a professional to create animated videos my marketing materials it would cost a lot, Vyond saved a big amount of money in that case. We are really loving this tool. You can put together informational videos in the matter of minutes. We create videos for our employees to train and learn with no prior animation skills. Cons The thing I like least is if you change a color on something way later (let’s say... a cubicle), you have to manually change each scene beforehand. It's super helpful to be able to create my own character and pose them in any way I need. No need to have a full time illustrator on staff. Pros I like that it's easy to use and comes with a lot of templates to get you started. For beginners or people who need to turn something around really quickly, the templates can save a lot of time and provide some quality animations. Cons There are a lot of templates and characters, but I have to say I'm starting to recognize them within our own organization and on other companies websites and videos. The main characters and the templatizes scenes and backgrouds are easily recognizable so it's hard to make it feel customer and unique after you've made a lot of them. That's the price for becoming such a popular tool I guess--you'll start to see very similar work popping up from other Vyond users. It has decreased the training durations since we can now create videos for knowledge instead of instructor lead training sessions. Pros In our instructional design we have implemented media creation and this is a great tool for just that. We have been able to reduce training time by creating videos that transmit knowledge in less time. Our survey results show that people prefer learning this way and most important they really enjoy it. Cons The options to create personalized characters is awesome however I still believe that its missing some option to create more personalized characters. The feature I love the most is that you can use a recording and the animations lips move along with the audio you use. All the things you can create with characters makes it Soo much fun. Another thing I like is that it has predetermined scenery which makes it really easy when you have to create videos fast. It's easy to manipulate the characters as you need and it's quick and easy to use. Pros I like how user friendly Vyond is, you don't need to be a tech wizard to create great animations and quick videos.
