With baked in features like sound effects and music, as well as camera zooms it helps to give a clean professional look to your content Cons I wish they continued to built their catalogue and templates. I love the ease of use and the ease of learning the software. I came in with no experience and was able to make a video instantly. Pros If you are a beginner in video creation and want to enhance training or any other media with infographics then Vyond is your answer! I started using this 3+ years ago and it changed the way we provide training. Its a great resource to change text based material into infographic video. Cons I can't say anything bad about it other than maybe adding more resources and being able to integrate other media into the software easier. Pros I love that this product provides the ability for the user to be creative while developing content. I love the scenes/props/characters and just the overall default images available in the program. I also like that I have the ability to create my own characters. This program is very user-friendly and gives frequent updates to its users. Cons At times the program loses connection which definitely reinforces your need to save often. The ability to provide a visualization of a CRM with engaging animations has been key to the product launch. Pros The library with props, people, places, and more is a dream for someone who is not a graphic designer. Having spent my career working in timeline-based animation software, Vyond was easy to pick up with well-written tutorials. I love the examples that are shared with the community to give you how-to tips and get the creative juices flowing. Cons I haven't found anything yet. It seems like the technical roadmap is always being updated based on user requests, which is great. Reason for choosing Vyond I kept seeing these great explainer videos online and wondered how did people create those. Vyond enables us to use props, characters and animations along with music and sound effects to speak more effectively to our audience. It's the convenience factor of having access to all the assets that drives the team to be more creative and capable of producing videos quickly. Thus, saving us time. Vyond has positioned our team front and center to the leadership team as well as the audience. Cons There are some limitations to the software but Vyond is continuously updating their software and communicating the updates to the clients through emails. I also create standalone videos, again, typically as a training aid to explain a new system process or how-to. Pros I use the templates to get ideas and then customize it from there, or build my own off of an idea I see in a template. There are settings and props for almost every situation. As someone with very little video production and zero animation experience, this was very easy to learn. Cons Our business is manufacturing, and I’d like to see more characters in this type of setting without the safety vests or uniform. Review Source KG Karen G. This is such a great solution for us. It also takes away the back and forth of creating something, as well as the time it would take to work with an outside vendor. Sure, we still need certain videos to be created professionally, but for the most part, this has met and exceeded our needs as a company. Pros I love that I don't need design experience to create a professional video in a matter of minutes. The features are so easy to use. And even if you don't have too much experience using Vyond, there are a lot of great tutorials and tips to get you started. You don't need to be a pro to whip up a great looking video for your content marketing and promotions. Voice overs with lip sync allows me to easily change dialogues into different languages without needing to re-create videos. Have tried many different softwares and couldn't find a better alternative. Don't waste money and time using other options. Vyond is worth the investment. Since the airline industry changes quickly and we have a large workforce, nimbleness in training development is important. Vyond allows me to storyboard, script and "record" a video in a few hours, and it looks great. That is a major win in my opinion. Pros I love the custom avatar feature, not just because i could make a cartoon of myself (although I did). We have thousands of employees (over 100K) and a lot of training videos. The training teams try to involve front-line employees in the process since peer to peer advice is usually well received. Many employees who are camera shy and would never want their image recorded absolutely love having an avatar with their own voice in an animated video. Cons I wish there was more diversity in the hair and clothing styles for all character types (Modern, Business and Whiteboard). It's difficult to show a diverse group that doesn't have at least one "twin". Review Source PF Paul F. But the cost seems aimed at corporates rather than individual creatives. Pros I was able to create several videos using Vyond during my two month subscribtion - this without any prior experience. Cons The preview function hanged frequently - my internet connection not an issue. There weren't enough actions that characters could perform. Instructional Designer E-Learning Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "New User Who Sees Huge Potential" April 12, 2021 5.0 Pros I am a fairly new instructional designer and new Vyond user but I must say that I already love the product. Vyond is very popular in the industry and for obvious reasons. As a new user, I was able to jump in and start producing with the product without much difficulty. Like any new product, it did take a bit of playing around to get familiar with the platform, but the learning curve was not a huge one. I will use this tool to create engaging e-learning videos that effectively bring storytelling to life. Cons Wish the trial was. bit longer. Many other e-learning programs ( like Storyline) have much longer trial periods that allow me to play around and explore more before committing to purchasing the product. April 12, 2021 5.0 It's not perfect for every project, but for the projects, Vyond is suited for the development time is cut drastically. Pros It's very intuitive. If you have little understanding of video design you can create something great. If you're more experienced with video development then you can create something with a lot of detail and movement in a fraction of the time you would create in Premiere Pro or After Effects. Cons While you can upload your own assets, you are limited to what they have available in their catalog. Also, if you a Premiere Pro or AE user you will find the product limiting if you're trying to make it work like those programs. I have a personal account that I use for fun and side (paying) projects. Pros It's so easy to learn and use. It only takes a few weeks (1-2 months) to become an expert. It also supports creativity. I created a video using animated characters with actual pictures of my my home and office. Cons A little expensive and have to pay extra for the Contemporary characters. The video quality I am able to create with Vyond is excellent. Pros I really like the theme templates. They help me get ideas I hadn't thought of and are easy to edit. I also really like how I can continue a scene on the next slide. The copy function also is really useful. Cons I wish they had a package that was less expensive for people like me that does not use the software often. I also wish there was a way to put a badge or logo on a characters work shirt and hat. Pros I like the ease of the functionality to build a video. I like that you can customize avatars and add special effects to the various objects included in the tool. Cons When personalizing avatars it can become cumbersome unless it is user error and I am doing this wrong. I do not love the music selections and would like to see that catalogue expand. The feedback I received for my videos was very positive, so I'm happy I discovered vyond. Pros I liked the multiple templates, animations already available but also customisable, intuitive features, lots of options to use, build your own avatars etc. It's easy to use and if really want to dig into customization you have plenty of options. Cons I didn't find any cons. I found options for all my needs to build the video. I am not sure if it doesn't exist or I can't find it: maybe have a voice option to read a script instead of recording my own voice. It made for a highly effective, stand out output which was easy to share with colleagues and clients. It took more work and learning curve than I expected as someone with no prior video editing experience, but this effort was worthwhile for the end product I found myself having a much easier time when using it for additional videos. Result is so good I’m now being requested to involve Vyond on professional work projects. Pros End result for video was engaging and effective for virtual introduction purposes. Cons I found it challenging to learn how to implement character motion paths and time up audio with lip syncing. Pros This tool made it so easy to create animated videos with ready to use characters and backgrounds. I even created comics using vyond and it wasn't difficult at all. Cons This tool provides a lot of options, but you need to spend some time poking around and learning it all. The options are not right in front of you always. Pros What I like most about creating VYOND videos is its unlimited potential to create scenario-based learning. With the ability to create our own characters, we could create a scene of Socrates talking to a modern-day freshman, if we so desired. Imagine what he would say! Cons It is a little expensive so I do not think I could justify purchasing it on my own for videos I make as a student in my doctoral program.
