I get compliments on my website often, but it does not get much traffic and I wonder whether a wordpress alternative may have worked better? Pros Easy to use to set up a website quickly. Drag and drop editing and nice simple templates that look good on web and mobile devices. Cons The price is a bit high, and I am not sure why, but my website gets very little traffic. It’s very intuitive, it made it easy for me as a beginner. It's perfect for anyone who wants a quick, easy way to create a website. For small businesses or personal projects, it’s a solid choice. Pros GoDaddy is extremely user-friendly. I like the variety of templates available and how customizable they are. That's something I've taken advantage of while building my brand There are also integrated SEO tools helping your site get noticed online, which is a huge bonus. Cons The downside of GoDaddy is that it's missing some more advanced customization options compared to other platforms. There are some limitations in terms of design flexibility if you want to fully personalize your site beyond the templates. Review Source CB Craig B. September 22, 2021 4.0 Overall, the GoDaddy Website Builder is a great tool to get your website onto the internet for all to see - regardless of your purpose - be it selling, information, charity, etc. it works for everyone and it fast, simple to learn, easy to change and update and very intuitive. Pros This newest version of Website Builder is much more intuitive than previous versions - and now it is so easy to select a template (or change your existing one), make changes to your content "on-the-fly" and publish immediately - then you check your updates on the web to make sure everything is how you want - not as clunky as previous versions and waiting to check updates, etc. Cons There are some limitations to the Website Builder like font sizes and placements of certain blocks. Color usage for backgrounds and certain other blocks are also somewhat limited. Reason for choosing GoDaddy Website Builder Chose the GoDaddy Website Builder due to buying our domains from GoDaddy and wanting a seamless integration with our domains, website and hosting. Keep things simple as website building is not something I do everyday or for a living - but it is a necessary component of our business. Review Source KF Karen F. Cons My cons would start with the real time editor, the drag and drop feature which normally doesn't work for me in any aspect. Pros This is incredibly easy software to use for getting a website up. It's inexpensive compared to hiring somebody to make one. Also there is some SEO baked in so it can show up on your web searches. We have been using this software for many years and like it so far. Cons I wish that there was a lot more features available. The websites look fairly basic. A little more customizability would be a nice update. I was able to take on full ownership of all decision making of the website to truly make it the way I envision it to be. The outcome was exceptional. Pros The most beneficial feature of this software is being able to build your own website and make it your own. A website which represents your company as a whole, has standards, boundaries and a vision. Cons The least aspect of this software is not knowing how to use it to it's full potential. I highly recommend taking a tutorial class and getting help on how to use it on a broad spectrum. To get the full experience for your company and your brand. It's as if someone is giving you guidance behind your back! I was really pleased with the end outcome of my website! My website is receiving a lot more traffic and sales than it used to on other apps. I am really pleased. Pros The GoDaddy website builder is highly practical and simple to use. It features a variety of designs and templates to pick from that will be ideal for your business. The 30-day free trial was really helpful in getting to know the programme and putting it through its paces to ensure it fulfilled our expectations. I really appreciate how it integrates with Square and has built-in shipping choices for when you ship items to consumers. Cons Once you've chosen a template, you won't be able to modify any of its page designs. You must simply go through the template. When it comes to functionality and personalization, it is more restricted. After developing my entire website, I discovered that I required a completely different platform than GoDaddy provided for mobile and tablet apps. I'd have to start from scratch to adapt everything to the other platform that supported mobile and tablet settings. Because I am a monthly subscriber to GoDaddy and use numerous of their products, it would be helpful for them to make the conversion for you, but it would cost them more money to do so. So this review may be a little dated if the program has improved any since I switched. I am still a GoDaddy customer, but I have migrated over to their hosting platform with WordPress. Since this move, I could not be more pleased with my website and its performance. I know the GoDaddy servers crash a couple of times a year, but they have great customer service. GoDaddy's Website Builder is great for beginners and for those who are "scared" of technology or learning how to navigate through WordPress and all of its Plugins. However, it also comes with some major limitations. The SEO functionality did not do a thing to my website or to rank it up on a Google search. You have minimal control over the speed and responsiveness of the website. And because there are limited or only GoDaddy plugins, you get what you get and there isn't much more to it. I would say that if you are on a limited budget and have no time to learn (or don't want to learn) how to use WordPress, GoDaddy's Website Builder will make you a functioning website that will serve as a great "place holder" for people that will directly search for your company. If you want to get results on Google, then I'd recommend moving over to the WordPress Platform. Pros Inexpensive, fairly easy to navigate, creates a decent website Cons Lack of functionality, minimal SEO, not much to build upon Review Source AM Aaron M. Pros This is as simple as it gets for design. Drag, drop and pre built templates. Very easy to get a website up and going in an hour. Cons The SEO capabilities are very limited. You can not gain real market reach with organic SEO with Go daddy. I chose GoDaddy based on pricing and trying out the website builder tool. It has some nice basic features to build a site for someone with no real experience. Cons During the process of building a website, I did notice that there are a few frustrating things as compared to the Wix website builder. The builder is slow and takes time to refresh, there are a few bugs that need to be fixed. There are limited layout options and color applications if I want to brand my site with intention and not use it out of the box. The domain purchase linked to the builder is a little clunky as well on the billing end. April 30, 2024 5.0 Pros Go Daddy didn’t only help me with the name Of my company also that gave me the tools to build my website as well as helping in the choice of my domain! Pros It's easy to use and reasonably priced. Cons I have 5 or so active websites. When I started building sites for my companies many years ago, I used Yahoo!. Yahoo! was good, but they stopped offering that service so I switched to Go Daddy. The Go Daddy templates not only are limited, but they don't look very nice. So, once I heard about Wix, I switched to them. I will admit, Wix is not perfect and I think that there is still room for a better competitor in this space or for Wix to improve. Because Wix has gained some moat in this space, they have been stubborn on pricing. As a result, I decided to check out Go Daddy again recently. While they have somewhat improved their offering, it is still behind the competition and even if it is a little cheaper than Wix, not worth it. Review Source Abdul Raqeeb A. Pros We have one website hosted using Godaddy's website builder. It's been live for several years and I see no reason to change it. Pros: Simple to use. You don't need any advanced tech or website building skills. Offers customizable options for fonts and images. Great if you don't want to invest time in using more advanced website software to maintain a clean and simple site. Convenient if you purchased your domain at Godaddy since you don't have to forward, redirect or transfer anything. Cons I wouldn't suggest it for truly creative types or those who want a more advanced platform. To me, this is great for the smaller business owner who wants a great site for little time investment. Review Source Audrey W. Chief Brand Strategist, Owner Used the software for: 2+ years ### "I have recommended website builder to clients for more than 7 years. I find it easy to use." January 19, 2018 4.0 No design or coding skills needed Fits most budgets Great for startups or small organizations Great functionality with common features needed by mot operations Social integration Can add images and documents Ecommerce feature Can train others to use easily Pros It is easy to get started and is very intuitive. Anyone can have their web presence up and running in no time, with a great look for a great price. The variety of themes/templates covers a wide number of industries. You can add images, documents and link to videos and also collect payments. If you are an affiliate it takes html so the site is clean and professional. Social media integration and linking to other content is a plus. Cons As far as cons, not being able to have a scrolling marquee is a feature I would like to see Godaddy add. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Associate Executive Director Individual & Family Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "If all you want is basic and don't care about support, it works." January 17, 2019 3.0 For someone with no web design experience, who wants a nice looking and functional site, and who isn't interested in getting help if you run into problems, GoCentral is a viable website builder. If you want to control the design and functionality of your website, there are better options, more reasonably priced options. Pros We switched from WordPress to GoCentral when needing to update our website. The simplicity of the platform made the transition quick and the resulting site a major improvement from our outdated previous site. It also gave us a mobile friendly site automatically as part of the build. Cons While limited options felt nice when just knocking out the original design, the limitations have stopped us from doing many of the upgrades we had hoped once the initial site was up. There is a small set of preset fonts available, workarounds are often needed to get layouts to display as desired, and no control of the back end is available at all. Customer support is laughable when working through issues. At one point they told me I was not able to add a type of layout that was already part of my published site.
