The ones I like and use most are merge, separate and rotate. It can also convert into many pdf versions. Not paying for proprietary tools is a great advantage in using this software. Cons The basic version lacks pdf editing tools, and a single feature addition like signing the pdf could make a big improvement for future versions. Pros PDFsam is a must have on your personal computer if you commonly work with PDFs and don't want to pay for expensive PDF software. With PDFsam you can easily combine and separate PDF files. I love this software and would recommend it to anyone! Cons I do find when I import multiple PDF files into PDFsam it software sometimes scrambles the PDF and then I have to reorganize the files into the correct order. Pros This software is just wow. This has become a need for me at office now. You can do anything to a pdf with this software. You can extract a few pages of a pdf, split, merge, crop, rotate, delete pages, edit or create a pdf from images. These are the options that I use the most, but there's more. I love this software. It is easy to use right out of the gate, it gets the job done without a lot of frills. Pros I like that I can split PDFs into separate pages, then merge to create smaller documents. It helps me organize research papers into smaller "chunks". Very easy to use with an intuitive user interface and small footprint. Cons I can't think of anything about the software that was a con. It works flawlessly and as described. I have not had any issues. Cons The only con is the the repeated requests to write a review after using the product a certain amount of time. Also, I can split files into single documents or several pages instead of 100's of pages. The support is great too, very responsive to messages or questions. Pros The best feature of PDFsam is the split option, I work with many large pdf files throughout the day including contracts, permits and other regulatory type documents. Being able to split these down into smaller pdfs makes my life so much easier! Cons The dashboard/console is a little older looking, not as sleek as some modern software, but it has everything you need to complete your task. Everytime I attempt to use PDFSam Enhanced, I recieve a prompt to upgrade to PDF SAM Enhanced. Since I've already installed PDFSam Enhanced, this prompt merely prevents me from using the product. PDFSam has provided no technical support. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the product. The product still doesn't work. I've requested a full refund for my product, but PDFSAM does not respond my requests. I attempted to login to my account via the PDFSam website, but PDFSam removed the link to login. Pros Nothing. The product doesn't work at all. Cons The PDFSam Enhanced has never worked. For a year, I used PDFSam Basic without any problems. Then I began receiving prompts to upgrade to PDFSam Enhanced. I then started having problems with PDFSam Basic. Finally, in frustration, I upgraded to PDFSam Enhanced. When I try to use PDFSam Basic or PDFSam Enhanced, I continue to receive prompts to upgrade to PDF Sam Enhanced. Now, neither version works at all. Reason for choosing PDFsam Basic Cost. Varies ways to slice and dice bulk PDF files. UI is self explanatory and simple to use as well. Each split, append, and merge options are broken down into their own categories which all have their own unique option sets. Can also use a visual organizer to shuffle PDFs into a particular order or add/remove pages. Cons UI, though simple, can feel very 1995 at times. We use it regularly to combine and cut PDFs. Pros We mainly use this when we receive bid drawings that come in individual PDF documents and we have to combine them to make one complete set of drawings. Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use to combine multiple PDFs or to take apart PDFs. I love that it's free too. You can't do much else with it, but for those two features, it's very useful. I use it for extracting PDF pages and also merging PDF pages. I like that you can drag and drop the file, modify your settings, and press "Run". Very quick. The outputs are great quality. Cons I wish you could do more than one action at a time. For example, "Extract page 5 from File 1 and merge it with File 2." Currently you need to do this in two separate transactions. Pros PDF Sam Basic is a barebones tool to split and merge pre-existing PDF files. You won't get any editing features with the basic free version, but if your needs are limited, this is going to be one of your best options for removing or adding pages to PDF files. In my case, I didn't need all of the options that Adobe's products offered. Why pay for a pro version and waste funding if you don't need to? Cons If you DO need to edit a PDF, you'll need to pay for that functionality. But it software is relatively inexpensive - certainly cheaper than Adobe products.
