I keep learning more of them daily. Pros I love how easy it is for me to turn Word Documents into PDF's. I create reports with this software multiple times per day. I use it anytime I need to edit a document, sign something, change something, move something around. It does it all. Pros The optical character recognition feature has been the single most powerful and productivity enhancing feature introduced in new versions of Foxit PDF SDK. It has allowed us to easily manage and review content of digitized research reports from sources that only had hard copies in storage. With this, we are steadily building a unique library of lost research materials that are not only readable, but searchable and can also be edited. Cons Some component features were updated only for Windows 10 Systems, and this resulted in some difficulties in getting the entire team to collaborate effectively since some were using different operating systems that weren't compatible. TIF files are so more heavy than PDF and when we need to send documents that is not the way to go. You can combine multiple pages into 1 PDF document to make it much easier on customers. I have received a lot of positive feedback that they are grateful I took the time to do that after they initially sent in multiple separate pages. This meets PCI requirements for security. Pdfs created can be opened with adobe suite for docs or any other pdf file reader meeting standards. Cons Shifting the software to another team in-house required there to be extra licensing involved. Upskilling on the SDK has been easy except adding extensions can be a bit of a trial and error. In terms of software features, its ability to combine selected portions or pages of multiple PDF documents and combine them into a single new document in your own preferred arrangement is my most useful feature. As someone who conducts a lot of online scholarly research, this feature allows me to better manage the volume of reference material I compile for later review. Cons My only complaint is that it has no free version available. But I still do not regret paying for it, because it has exceeded the expectations I had. I also enjoy the different editing features, such as the ease at which you can add radio buttons or text boxes. Cons I do occasionally experience an issue when opening PDFs where the images are messed up in the sense that they are either discolored, or altogether just blurry or illegible, despite them being perfectly fine when I initially download them. Pros Foxit is easy to use, it has and easily understood interface. the fact that they sort of copied microsoft's interface to an extent, makes more integrate with the PC to the user that is. Foxit offers features that ensure document protection and access control. Pros The one feature that was most important to me was to be able to edit PDF documents. I downloaded the free trial of this software from a recommendation of a colleague. I was hoping to really like it and be able to integrate it into my office, but the features just did not meet my needs. I was able to edit the documents that I needed, however. Cons It is possible, that because I have been using Adobe for years, that I went into this software a little biased. But, I did not like this software at all. It was not user friendly, and it looked a like I was using something from the early 2000s. It just was too hard to figure out and I really didn’t like the layout of it.
