The installation process was straightforward, and I had the option to choose from several authentication methods. I opted for their authentication app, which is easy to use. Moreover, the latest release of the Protectimus app includes a convenient cloud backup feature. Cons I was initially concerned about the absence of backup features for Windows two-factor authentication software and the 2FA app. However, Protectimus later released updates with backups, resolving my worries. Also you don´t need to buy special tokens and multi factor solutions which cost much more money and time to implement. Pros You can use it with any Authenticator app and you don't need to implement something on your own Infrastructure. Cons On the first version the cards could get a-synchronised with time, but his got fixed in the second version and the broken ones got replaced. Protectimus allow us to integrate the password with a token part which changes every time. Pros Mobile app works very well. It is fast to open and to display the token. The possibility to set different Time To Live for tokens of different users allows you to set different behavior. Cons I don't find any negative aspect at the moment using Protectimus as a end user. Our main goal was to find an MFA solution that could run on-premises, and Protectimus was a great match. The installation process was simple, and the support team was quick to respond and very helpful. It’s user-friendly and helps us feel secure about our VPN. Cons Some parts of the setup instructions are not very user-friendly. Sometimes, support is required. This adds extra time to the initial deployment. Having secure hardware tokens is the only way we can keep MFA enabled for 100% of our users base without disrupting their work. Pros Setting up the devices as an Admin was very simple. We imported a CSV into Azure AD and associated the tokens with the accounts then shipped the tokens directly to the users, they did not have to do anything except start using their tokens, no complicated setup. Cons It would be nice if we could associated tokens to users during purchase and they would ship directly. I've found the Protectimus SMART two-factor authentication app to be extremely useful and cute, especially because of its cloud backup feature. Pros I use the Protectimus SMART two-factor authentication app, and I appreciate its cloud backup feature, which ensures that I won't lose access to all my accounts if I misplace my phone. Additionally, I'm fond of the design and the ability to add an emoji for each token – that's a cute touch! Cons When I attempted to add the token manually, something went wrong. However, the support team guided me to uncheck a certain default button, and after doing so, I was able to successfully add the token. I believe this button shouldn't be active by default. As a web designer myself, I can see how many user-friendly features they've added, such as the ability to sort tokens into folders and even add emojis—I truly appreciate their efforts. However, the best part is that I can now easily switch phones without worrying about losing my tokens. We rely on hardware Protectimus Flex tokens for one-time passwords, and I haven't encountered any problems with either the token or the login process. These tokens consistently generate the necessary one-time passwords, ensuring reliable access to our email. They're practical, too, as they're compact keyfobs that can be attached to a keychain. Cons I don't have any complaints, but it would be nice if the administrators could offer us a choice in how we generate one-time codes. Personally, I prefer using an authenticator app over a hardware token, although I must admit the tokens do work well. Pros Offline Two Factor Token, If I have to factory my phone due to malware what is common I do not need to reset my two-factor token. Cons Only one site/token per card. It generates a one time passwort everytime I need to log into my system. That works well and accurate. For other Applications I still use my smartphone with an app, which also works well. The extra step for logging in caused by 2 factor auth sucks, but with this it is a fast way atleast, if you remember where you put the card. Cons It only makes logging in with 2FA possible with 1 Application. Apps like Google Auth takes every 2 factor authentication you need. As I was looking for a company with this type of one time password cards I was sceptical about their support levels. Luckily, their support is really good. From purchase, through delivery and reclamation process everything works well with Protectimus and their friendly employes. As I selected this product I was able to test one of their cards for 2FA and the decision for buying and reselling their product was made fast. Cons Sometimes delivery times can be very long. This is not the fault of Protectimus, but our german customs office. Everything else is fine.
