Pros: Revit is structured to create buildings and structures immediately in 3D. It is ready to go "out of the box" with a great variety of built in components (walls, floors, roofs, stairs and more). The model can be viewed in 2d (plan, elevation, and section) at the same time as in 3D. Compared to other similar products, Revit has a very high level of accuracy. Revit models can be exported to a wide variety of other disciplines. Revit has excellent 3d shading and realistic modes. It also has a strong rendering engine. Great outside sources of additional building components are available.

Cons: Revit models can become quite large. Obtain a copy of file transfer software (many are available free online) to send and receive Revit models.

Overall: Revit software has greatly improved a number of important areas: 1) much easier and faster 3D preparation and presentation, and 2) great improvement in technical drawing speed.

Pros: This software quickly adds BIM capabilities to any architect's workflow. Not only does it allow users to quickly produce accurate construction documents, but you can also colaborate with colleagues on the same model and even share it directly with owners and contractors.

Cons: The software is rather cumbersome and takes years to master. After 6+ years using the program I still find new tips and tricks.

Pros: It is great for walking through the spaces you're working on, for coordinating multiple disciplines in one place and for doing lighting calculations all in one place.

Cons: It can be tricky to get the things you want to show up from different models to be visible, so communication with whoever created those models is important.

Pros: The best part of using this software is after completion of a 3D model, each element can be visualized and assesed individualy with ease, alterations can be inserted and campared. And also the comunication between multiple users is incredible to impose a large scale of ideas to one construction.

Cons: I dont see much lackings in this software. I feel this has to be more user friendly specialy for the beginners and flexibility of default settings is less campared to autocad.

Overall: This is so far very advanced version of 3D modeling i have encountered. This acquires lot of technical skill to utilize. I reccomend the new users to get a good knowledge

Prior to commense using.

Pros: The technology grows up even faster what we predict. Revit is one of the most powerful tools to create 3D models with building information. The tools are very easy to understand and the overall interface is user-friendly. Easily can be linked with other software. Can model 3D buildings with already created 2D drawings(AutoCAD files)

Cons: The pricing subscription of this software is one of the cons in Revit. The output file is less realistic when compared to the latest available BIM software. The detailing available in this software should need to be improved. Less Structural considerations software also one of negative in Revit.

Overall: Overall, one of the most helpful software for BIM with easy for using and creating innovative and environmentally friendly buildings in short-span of time.

Pros: While initially a tad overwhelming, very straightforward as time progress in regards to menu structure/layout/features

UI is pretty user friendly as long as user doesnt get carried away with amount of menus open

Responsive, powerful, useful

Cons: Took time time understand where in the menus the options/models/materials I needed were.

The autosync to our companies server also caused some headaches. I was originally conscripted to help with the simple parts of setting up floor plans for client school districts and there were a few times I inadvertently messed up the models that had already been imported, and then the autosave had synced it to our company server overwriting the backup.

Overall: Overall I really liked it. Once I learned the menus it was pretty self-explanatory and I learned to work from a version not connected to our central server. I really enjoyed making floor plans with it, it was inexplicably satisfying

Pros: I enjoy that it is pretty universal in the sense that it can be used to design most trades pretty easily. It's easily exported into other software (Navisworks) for collaboration. It's also pretty easy to use once you've had some basic training.

Cons: It has its quirks and you have to be very attentive to naming, layering, etc. to avoid issues downstream.

Pros: Ability to customize with finishes, colors and textures; outstanding cloud-based 3D rendering options; much easier on the eyes than AutoCAD

Cons: Steep learning curve for people new to CAD programs

Overall: Revit is my go-to program for providing clients with project plans and renderings. The level of customization provided allows me to show clients the exact colors and finishes specified for their projects. A bonus is the cloud-based Autodesk rendering service that brings my projects to life for the client and enables them to visualize the end result much more easily than mood boards and traditional floor plans can.

Pros: I used this as a beginner in my first architecture class. At first I struggled, but over time it got a lot easier and ultimately I felt pretty comfortable using it. I was able to make some pretty complex designs.

Cons: I think just initial ease of use, also the furniture options are fairly limited. Sometimes moving art or cabinets was difficult.

Overall: If I ever need an architecture software again, I would definitely look into Revit.

Pros: Good for making attractive 3D buildings models. Ability to view the models in section views. Can easily cut and view. Easy to import and export models from many software (SketchUP etc...)

Cons: Need high specs computers for newer versions. Can't even think about real time rendering in a low specs machine. Always takes time to load.

Overall: Used during my undergraduate period for modelling buildings. Easy to learn if we know AutoCAD Basics.
