It was critical for us being a small company and having a reduced staff dedicated to sales compensation. Cons We did not find any issues with our sales plan implementations and commissions payouts. We do have some complexity in our sales compensation plans, but those situations were addressed without delay. From check-ins to calls they make sure everything is working the way you want it to. Pros Easy to use, helps create friendly competition between salespeople, and their support staff is very helpful to make sure everything continues to run smooth. Once it is implemented the commission calculates daily and allows for users to track their sales and the payouts added to their payroll. Cons I wouldn't say there are any cons with Sales Cookie. Any issue you may have is easily resolved with their support staff to work out any quirks you may have. They respond quick and make sure they understand how you want it to work. That's the product. The team behind it really made it feel valuable as they continued to look for ways to automate things to help get info into our out of the system. Pros Works great - backed by personable, knowledgable, reachable support. Of course, the QBO integration. Workflows are intuitive enough. Cons Took a while to get terminology down (what they call 'credits' for example). The costs for each person being measured are reasonable considering the report and dashboard access that they have. It can add up though, if using the reduced aspect of no dashboard, but wanting to capture, say 20 different types of revenue. There is probably another way to slice that though. I would definitely pull them into another client if given the opportunity and need. Pros For the price, I doubt you could find a more flexible and well supported system for commissions calculations. I received a recommendation from another old colleague of mine who had used Sales Cookie and after a brief evaluation I made the recommendation to my client to use the platform. They had a complex calculation which included the integration of data from two or three other systems via their API. Their onboarding team was great, got it implemented in short order (relative to how long others have taken) and the continued support from them were a pleasure to work with and reasonable from a cost perspective. Cons As an accountant, I found the reporting more geared towards the Sales leadership and reps rather than the financial reporting side of things. For example, it wasn't until after we were using the platform for several months that they were able to build in a report that would easily calculate and present the commissions expense and liabilities. I have worked with a broad spectrum of systems, from excel commission statements to Varicent, and I find Sales Cookie has the ease of Excel and the accuracy of Varicent, without all the respective headaches. Pros Cost effective sales commission calculation and reporting platform with easy user interface for administrators and reps. Security was easy and intuitive, and Customer Support was unparalleled. Cons Prebuilt sales analytics not always useful, but product easily plugs into other reporting tools. Potential con for some users might be it's not always straightforward to make plan changes yourself, but in my experience, the customer support team is so helpful and responsive, I can email them what I need and they make it happen for me. We use it mainly for Compensation / Commissions. Now that it has been fully implemented for almost a year, I now really realize that I was spending WAY TOO much time on compensation issues & questions. Now I can spend more time talking to customers. Pros This makes our commissions process simple! It gives the sales rep answers to 99% of their questions. It also frees up the sales managements time to work with customers. Cons I think the biggest thing that I like the least is "programming" sales cookie with all of our unique compensation parts. The support team is also a pleasure to work with with super-fast response times. Thank you! Pros Before Sales Cookie, I used to get a spreadsheet with my commissions at the end of the month. So basically I had zero information on how I was doing for the whole month. I also had to spend time checking everything was correct which took time (and required help from Finance to make corrections). With Sales Cookie, I can check real-time where I'm ata in regards to commissions. I am also able to submit requests for corrections from within the app. Also it's a lot easier to understand where the commissions came from as you can export the data, etc. Finally, I use my cell quite a bit and the app works well for this use case. Cons A 4G or internet connection is required to see commissions using a cellphone. There is no "offline mode" which would be handy when there is no connectivity. Pros Before we implemented this at our company we were wasting a lot of time and resources on manual working on spreadsheets. After implementation we have been able to make very good progress as compensation for various employees and the subsequent benefits are easily processed. It allows for goal setting for various levels of employees and makes it easy to progress.
