### "Antmedia - video engine backend for live streaming platform"

November 5, 2025

5.0

As a owner of new developing app for live streaming I am really satisfied with everything. My DevOps team is also happy with this software.

Pros

Technology , innovations, ease of use, documentation and customer support of course. Video with low latency.

Cons

There is nothing to describe here. Maybe add more payment possibilities for Antmedia License purchase.

### "NPD Manager"

April 7, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Ant Media Server has been quite positive, especially for real-time streaming use cases. It stands out for its ultra-low latency performance with WebRTC, which works reliably once properly configured. I found it particularly well-suited for applications like live video platforms, monitoring systems, or interactive broadcasts where delay really matters.

Pros

What I liked most about Ant Media Server is its strong real-time streaming capability. It supports ultra-low latency streaming (often sub-second), which makes it ideal for applications like live broadcasting, video conferencing, and interactive streaming. Another standout feature is its flexibility with multiple streaming protocols such as WebRTC, RTMP, HLS, and CMAF. This makes it easy to integrate with different platforms and devices without much hassle. I also appreciate its scalability. Ant Media Server can be deployed in clustered environments, allowing it to handle large audiences efficiently—something really important for production-level systems. Finally, its ease of use is a big plus. The web-based dashboard is intuitive, and setting up live streams or managing broadcasts is relatively straightforward compared to many other streaming servers.

Cons

What I liked least about Ant Media Server is that some of its most powerful features—like clustering and advanced scalability—are locked behind the enterprise edition. This can be limiting if you’re trying to build a production-grade system on a tighter budget.

### "Reliable, Low-Latency Streaming Made Easy"

April 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Ant Media Server has been very positive. It delivers reliable, low-latency streaming with strong performance and scalability. The setup is straightforward, the APIs are developer-friendly, and it integrates well into modern applications. It’s a solid choice for building real-time streaming solutions.

Pros

I’ve had an excellent experience using Ant Media Server. From the moment I started working with it, the setup process was smooth and well-documented, which made getting up and running surprisingly fast. The platform’s real-time streaming capabilities are truly impressive—low latency, high stability, and consistent performance even under demanding conditions. One of the standout aspects is its scalability. Whether you're building a small application or handling large-scale live streaming, Ant Media adapts effortlessly. The support for WebRTC, adaptive bitrate streaming, and multiple protocols makes it incredibly versatile for modern streaming needs. The developer experience is also top-notch. The APIs are clean and well-structured, making integration straightforward. I especially appreciate how easy it is to embed streaming into web and mobile applications without unnecessary complexity. Performance-wise, it’s rock solid. Streams are delivered smoothly with minimal lag, and the server handles concurrent users efficiently. On top of that, their support team is responsive and knowledgeable, which makes a big difference when working on production systems. Overall, Ant Media Server is a powerful, reliable, and developer-friendly solution for real-time streaming. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to build high-quality live streaming applications.

Cons

Initial configuration can be slightly complex, and advanced features require deeper documentation review but overall 100% good experience

### "Ant Media Community and Enterprise Version Feedback"

April 10, 2026

5.0

It is the go-to choice for businesses that want the control of a self-hosted media server without the headache of building WebRTC architecture from scratch. The transition from "struggling with latency" to "flawless streaming"

Pros

Ultra-Low Latency: The WebRTC performance is industry-leading, making it perfect for sports, gaming, and interactive auctions. Developer-First Ecosystem: Clear documentation and a rich set of REST APIs and SDKs make it easy to build custom apps on top of the server. High Scalability: Seamless integration with AWS/Azure for auto-scaling ensures it can handle anything from 10 to millions of viewers. Versatility: Supports almost every protocol (RTMP, WebRTC, HLS, DASH, SRT).

Cons

Admin UI Aesthetics: The management dashboard is functional but is often described as "unpolished" or looking a bit dated compared to modern SaaS apps. Advanced Complexity: While basic setup is easy, advanced configurations (like deep security tweaks) sometimes require diving into config files rather than using the UI. Java Backend: A minor hurdle for some dev teams who prefer more "modern" stacks, though this rarely affects performance.

### "Powerful Low-Latency Streaming but Needs Better Stability & Documentation"

April 14, 2026

4.0

I used Ant Media Server for a live streaming/education platform. It performs very well for real-time video delivery, especially when low latency is critical. However, it requires proper infrastructure setup and technical knowledge to get the best performance. Once configured correctly, it’s a solid solution, but beginners may struggle with initial setup and troubleshooting.

Pros

Value for Money Good for businesses needing real-time streaming, but pricing can feel high for small-scale use.

Cons

Decent, but response time can vary. Community support is helpful. Rest there is no cons in ant media.

### "Powerful & Affordable"

April 8, 2026

5.0

Great for developers, small teams, or hobbyists needing a solid self-hosted streaming server without cost. Lacks advanced features of Enterprise, but perfect for standard streaming use. Highly recommended as a starting point.

Pros

Free, self-hosted, and extremely cost-effective. Stable and easy to set up. Supports multiple protocols (WebRTC, RTMP, HLS, RTSP) and includes useful APIs.

Cons

No Adaptive Bitrate, no clustering, and latency capped at 8–12 seconds. Documentation and UI could be more polished. Upgrading requires manual work, not via dashboard.

### "Reliable multi-stream setup for live sports — one recording limitation to know about"

April 11, 2026

5.0

For live sports broadcasting, Ant Media Server covered everything we needed: multi-stream support, reliable recording, live support, and VOD playback. The time from setup to live was minimal. The lack of chunked MP4 recording is a gap worth knowing about if your workflow depends on segmented files. Still a solid choice for event organizers who need a dependable streaming solution without a steep learning curve.

Pros

We ran 5 simultaneous live streams for a gymnastics competition with ~10 concurrent viewers per stream. Everything worked smoothly out of the box — setup was fast, streams were stable throughout the event, and the built-in recording saved all sessions directly to disk without any extra configuration. Having live support available during the event was reassuring, and the playback/history feature meant we could share recordings with athletes and coaches immediately after.

Cons

No native support for chunked recording — we needed 2-minute MP4 segments per stream for post-event editing, but Ant Media Server saves each stream as a single continuous file. This required additional post-processing to split recordings, which added unwanted steps to our workflow.

### "Great product and support team"

November 7, 2024

5.0

The service is quite good. Installation and setup is so simple and you can try it for free for some days. I have received good technical support regarding the use of HTTPS and other related configurations If there are Straming related obligations, Antmedia products are strongly recommended

Pros

Very easy to use, the technical support is also very good, if there are problems they will be enough to help us solve.

Cons

I don't see any disadvantages, there may be a lot of documentations, but if you ask them directly, you will get very patient answers.

### "It just works"

October 29, 2025

5.0

We've been using Ant Media Server Enterprise for a few years now. We never had any real issues. Over the years we had a few questions about the upgrade process or about licensing, and AMSes customer support team was extremely helpful with those enquiries. We're using it for webinars that are being viewed live by hundreds of users, and that works extremely well.

Pros

It's reliable, doesn't crash, and can handle hundreds of viewers simultaneously. We never had any issue that required restoring a backup or even rebooting a server or a docker image. Once configured properly, you can forget it exists.

Cons

It would be nice if it had a feature to run updates within web admin panel. I also had minor issues with using WebRTC JS SDK library, but that was a couple of years ago and I think it's been severely refactored now.

### "A Game-Changer Backed by a Stellar Team!"

July 24, 2025

5.0

Working with the Ant Media team has been nothing short of amazing. From the very first interaction, their team felt less like a vendor and more like a tech-savvy extension of our own squad. They’ve been responsive, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping us get the most out of the platform. As for the product itself — it’s powerful, scalable, and surprisingly easy to integrate. We’ve explored a bunch of streaming platforms in the past, but Ant Media hits that sweet spot between flexibility and reliability. Whether you're working on low-latency live streams or complex integrations, this platform delivers like a charm. We’ve had edge cases, unique use scenarios, and even some last-minute challenges — and every time, their support team has shown up like heroes. If you’re looking for a streaming solution that just works (and a team that truly has your back), stop scrolling — Ant Media is it.

Pros

Lightning-fast low latency Scalable & developer-friendly Hands-on, proactive support team Transparent pricing and roadmap

Cons

None that have stood in our way so far — and if anything pops up, we know their team will handle it like pros.

### "Ant Media Server"

September 3, 2025

5.0

Overall Ant Media server has been great experience with Tech support being second to none, as per my pro's very happy overall

Pros

Easy to use, the technical support is also prompt, impressive and professional. They are always happy to answer any of my querstions, even setting up video calls to support me through trouble shooting. The low latency streaming has been crucial for my operations enabling me to do things that were not previously possible

Cons

As I am not traditionally trained in coding, some things take me a little bit longer to trouble shoot/execute, however the beta version of the Auto Managed Solution on AWS has helped with this and helped reduce const, and the guides are generally very helpful

### "Ant Media Server does exactly what it promises, and does it pretty well."

November 29, 2025

5.0

Pros

Ant Media Server was a great experience to use, extremely easy to set up, and get going quickly. Does exactly what it promises. Never had any issues, “it just works”.

Cons

Sometimes, when you want to go “off-piste”, customise certain settings, you are left “in the dark”, you have to manually go adjust config files. Not everything is included in the GUI, but these are very niche and specific features (e.g. RTMP executor pool size).

### "A streaming solution you can count on."

October 28, 2024

5.0

I have been using Ant Media Server for the past 2 years for my streaming solution and could not be happier. Producing content with webRTC and Ant, I have been able to achieve sub 400ms of delay in my broadcasts unlocking the potential for live interaction between my performers and their audience. From a customer support perspective, it does not get much better. I would say that I have received above average support from \[sensitive content hidden\] and whenever there is a problem around adventure bay, he is the first one I yelp for. I just had an experience where support reached out to me just to check in. I indeed had a few challenges I was meaning to ask about, and they were able to proactively provide the support I needed and even solved some issues I did not even know were present. From implementation to support, AMS has my vote.

Pros

Ease of use and product support. The solution just works and if it doesn't support staff will make it work.

Cons

At the time of writing this, from an accessibility standpoint I would really like to have CC passthrough.

### "If you need rtmp multichannel rtmp streaming and don't want a $$$$$ bill monthly, Antmedia is 100% the right choice. "

June 2, 2024

5.0

I would say 10/10 honestly, the ease of use, support, built in apis, recording options, s3 integration was all excellent. If your in a similar situation I would 100% recommend Antmedia.

Pros

I had a project that needed 6 channels live streaming 24/7 rtmp at hd. Costing it out, to use AWS or mux would have cost up to $4k usd in transcoding and ingest costs alone with was way to much for a small project like this. We opted to buy a second hand Dell r730, install unraid and install Antmedia, which basically paid itself back in less than a few months. This process was simple and honestly I spent more time working on the server set up, than Antmedia config. Support is also fantastic! I had two issues come up, the first was about the api I was using to manage recordings, and I got a detailed response/solution in less than a day. The second issue was with SSL support and again, extraordinary helpful and customer focused support and resolution. Overall, very glad to have gone with Antmedia over other options.

Cons

The api documentation could be a little more user friendly, but it's minor stuff really. I would like a unraid docker instance in the unraid community apps, to make install, updates and ssl management easier, rather than having manual management. Again it's a minor issue really, but would have been very helpful and easier to Antmedia as an option when researching.

Reason for choosing Ant Media Server

Cost was the deciding factor, buying a server, licence and install was cheaper than a few months transcoding and streaming with any of these services.

### "Perfect for Homegrown Setups"

May 24, 2024

5.0

I'm not sure I could ask for something easier to setup - the barrier to entry is quite low and I have successfully hosted ant media server for at least the last two years.

Pros

Easy to setup - the guides were informative, and the staff at the support desk quite responsive.

Cons

There are some elements of the webUI that did not lend themselves previously to ease of use, e.g. it was not always obvious to me (even as a tech person) how to setup stream keys intuitively - fortunately, the UI is simple enough that it only takes a few minutes of trial and error to safely and non-destructively figure out what's going on.
