It helped me build real-time live auction streaming features with low latency and stable performance. The server worked well for both testing and production scenarios, and the flexibility of WebRTC and HLS support made it easy to adapt to different user connections. It saved a lot of development time compared to building a streaming infrastructure from scratch. Pros Ant Media Server was very easy to deploy and start streaming quickly. I was able to install the whole process very quickly and get it setup with a looped stream to YouTube. I watched a quick video on YouTube just to familiarise myself, but the AMS docs would have been enough. I find it very lightweight compared to other services, and the fact it has a substantial free community version is top notch. Cons Honestly, there’s not much to dislike. It’s straightforward and does everything I need. If I had to criticise something it would be the simple and lack of colour design for the interface (simply because I design things), but its not a problem. Over the years we had a few questions about the upgrade process or about licensing, and AMSes customer support team was extremely helpful with those enquiries. We're using it for webinars that are being viewed live by hundreds of users, and that works extremely well. Pros It's reliable, doesn't crash, and can handle hundreds of viewers simultaneously. We never had any issue that required restoring a backup or even rebooting a server or a docker image. Once configured properly, you can forget it exists. Cons It would be nice if it had a feature to run updates within web admin panel. I also had minor issues with using WebRTC JS SDK library, but that was a couple of years ago and I think it's been severely refactored now. Review Source JS John S. Pros It's a turnkey livestream solution that can be self-hosted with minimal effort. I had been frustrated in my efforts with setting up a Linux server with NGINX and HLS, but Ant Media Server put them together in an easy to deploy package. Pros I love how easy and quick it is to setup Ant Media Server. And the API makes automation tasks easy too. It's also very easy to setup SSL on AMS, making your stream secure so it is easily embedable and integrated into my websites. It's also very stable. Cons Threre is a slight latency between going live and reaching the server, but I use the Community Edition, in the Pro edition the latency is significantly reduced. Because of a new requirement from Google on Android apps regarding 16kb memory page support, we needed an update of the Ant Media Android SDK. After I registered the issue with the Ant Media team, they provided a new version to test out within 3 days. Absolutely awesome support! Pros 1\. Low latency on the video streams 2. Easy to setup. There is not a big learning curve. 3. Well documented 4. Fast support Cons The last update on the Ant Media Android SDK was from 2024.
