Whenever we asked for help they almost instantly helped us. We were using excel to maintain our library records and our librarians were not happy as they had to maintain a lot of things manually. I remember I saw this product from google and initally was not sure about this product. My colleague and Librarian took a demo back then and we got the feeling that this is it! And we purchase the software! Since this is our first software I can not compare with any other software, but for us this is a perfect solution which we don't want to change in near future (as long as CodeAchi provides same quality services). At the end I would like to thank CodeAchi for their solution and support. This software is highly recommended if you have a school Library. Thank you. Pros The features that has definitely helped us manage our small library using this software are category creation for books, importing books and students using excel sheet, tracking location of books, and barcode printing. Cons We are using this software for last 3 years and so far we are happy with the software. We have some Linux machines, but you can not use the software from Linux that is one of things CodeAchi must work on. Teaching department manager Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "The inexpensive and dead simple library management solution" February 5, 2021 3.0 This program gave me what I needed at the price I wanted and at the level of simplicity I was looking for. My staff are all non-native English speakers in China, so the nonstandard English doesn't bother us really. Pros This product allowed me to do exactly what I needed to do. I was migrating from an even more simple system that allowed people to check out books using a barcode scanner. I am not a regular library, and all my book data was on excel sheets. I was able to take my excel data, reformat the columns and upload all my books with their barcode numbers into the codachi system. I was immensely relieved when I uploaded the 5000 books in my lending library and then was able to scan the barcodes that were already there, and viola! It worked! Exactly what I needed for my neanderthal tech and librarian skills. Cons 1) The program language is not in standard English. 2) The reviews online were all fake, which made me initially distrust this product. I mean look at the other reviews online. You know when someone claiming to be from the USA or South Africa, uses completely nonstandard English, that their marketing team in India was actually behind it. 3) The program is slow to start because of how it has to connect to the internet in order to start up. Also this means if my wifi goes out, so does my library system. Reason for choosing CodeAchi Library Management System All the other software was too complex, used file formats I was unfamiliar with, or were unclear about what their product could actually do. I needed something dead simple that would accept excel files containing my book information and barcode numbers. CodeAchi was literally the only product that clearly laid out that it was able to do this. Pros I am not using it myself, so cannot go into detail. But as far as I know it offers al the functions we need. Cons I became interested in this software, because I saw on some website (not from your company) that it was freeware. Then your company told me it was a one time payment. After that I discovered that to receive customer service, we have to pay yearly a serious amount. But then we had inserted already a lot of data in it, so basically we had no choice than to continue with it. It still feels like we are tricked into it. A yearly payment of 40 euro or something would feel reasonable (because of some customer care and necessary updates), but not the current price. The process of purchasing the software was very easy, and the Codeachi team provided all of the assistance that we needed to get the software up and running in our college. Codeachi gets a thumbs up for making our library smarter. Pros The software's accessibility is one of its advantages.This software is very simple to understand and use; I've used other software in the past, but I considered codeachi to be the most basic while still providing all of the features that any Polytechnic college library software should have. The support is also a plus; the CodeAchi Chat team is extremely attentive!They are extremely knowledgeable about their items. Most of the time, assistance was needed due to my lack of knowledge in a few areas, and I wanted to ensure that anything I did was fine. I dislike reading boaring manuals, which is why I spoke to them the majority of the time.They are never irritated by most childish questions, which I find amusing. But then I discovered that they already have some really helpful YouTube videos that answered all of my questions. Cons The only disadvantage I've discovered so far is their email support; despite forwarding their email several times, I never received a response from them. The catalogue user interface has typical fields; author, title, ISBN, and subjects, that the c ommunity library members find farmiliar CodeAche has helped to remove duplication of work in the technical service department. To generate a list of Library members, we simply imported data from Administrative MS Excel files We customised the categories of books to include fiction and non fiction. If you would actually fix the printing problem, I may change my mind. Pros We appreciate the ease of entering our entire library into the CodeAchi program. We paid one of our librarians to enter the books into the system this past summer. Cons Support from CodeAchi has been very disappointing. I was informed that barcodes could be easily printed. After more than 6 months, CodeAchi has still not been able to fix the problem so we can print bar codes for our books. Our system has shut down multiple times because it couldn't properly update. It took three weeks for someone from technical support to fix that problem. If we had not spent all of the money to have our books loaded into the system, I would be looking for another library program. You incorrectly market your program - CodeAchi does not have the capabilities to print on any printer and your technical support is slow and takes way too long to correct problems. I didn't know exactly how many books we had until, CodeAchi. We had an expensive and basic Library check in and check out computer system. I was very disappointed in the old system. I am very excited about using CodeAchi. I have only begun using this system but I already love it. My favorite, I can issue Library Cards with a student photo. Something these kids have not experienced. Thank you, CodeAchi for caring about our Libraries. And creating an amazing program without all the expense.
