### "Centralized calendar in conjunction with matter and name organization speeds up our production time."

Pros

Centralized calendar, name and matter organization, form updates for immigration and the ability make our own forms. we have been using for a little over a year and it has made our office more successful. The incorporated outlook email sync saves the email and time.

Abacus is easy to use. Abacus has a lot of functions to make your work easier. Abacus stores a lot of data. Data is able to be edited.

Cons

Running conflicts checks is a bit slow and at times crashes.

Pros

I really like how it organizes cases and is very user-friendly. It was easy to learn without a lot of training.

Cons

I feel that it could of been a little more easier to use when setting up client information into the system.

Once we were able to get past the initial trial and error phase of using the system, we have been able to keep better track of case management, billing has been streamlined a great deal, and we seem to learn new ways of utilizing all the features available on a regular basis.

Pros

Having software that handles client/case management as well as A/P and A/R has helped the flow of all aspects of our business.

Cons

The Abacus Accounting can be a bit unforgiving. If a mistake is made, it is sometimes difficult to "undo" without having to contact support, and even then, we have been told that it can't be fixed.

### "Functionally Rich But Poor Company to do Business With"

From a functional perspective this software has a number of bells and whistles that any law firm would desire. The product has issues running over a wide area network so if you have multiple offices and want a common database beware, performace is marginal at best.The con is the company itself and how they deal with customer. Specifically they tell you one thing, take your money, and then do not follow through on their commitment. Once they have you they you are stuck unless you pay to get away from the company. Not a company that we choose to do business with after being a good customer for over18 years.

Automated practice and integrated accounting, billing and trust management.

Pros

The integration of my billing/trust account functions with the overall case management features of the software.

Cons

Accounting software is as would be expected from an "add-on" accounting software. It's not as sophisticated as an independent accounting software program. The billing is stilted in its performance.

Pros

Not much - system has deteriorated in quality while increasing in price. Abacus has not come through with their promises and continues to raise prices despite this.

Cons

It rarely works properly the last few years. Now abacus has turned into the crooks that change prices on their own and take money from your account without permission while refusing to process a cancellation.

Nothing.

Cons

This software is unstable and customer service is poor. It looses appointments , doesn't bill correctly, and has technical issues in a daily basis. If you call for customer service plan on spending a significant amount of time on the phone only ro result in no solution.

Pros

I like that it is a one stop shop for making notes in relation to call and events on particular cases and all the information is up front and easy to find.

Cons

I don't like that there is no way to change font to make important items stand out. I would love to be able to high-light, bold or underline important information, but there doesn't appear to be a way to do so.

We use Amicus Attorney. We like the conflict checks that Amicus offers and the integration with Outlook. We like how you can do everything you need to do within each client file. It is exactly like opening a file folder.

Cons

We us QB for our accounting and Amicus links with QB but with constant problems. I would like to see Amicus work on a better link with QB.

I am a very frustrated customer. I like the program. It is easy to use. I have had no problem integrating it with outlook calendars. However, I am a monthly auto credit card payer. My credit card info hasn't changed in months. I have received repeated unpaid notices and suspension notices over a $63.00 monthly fee that was simply never auto debited by AbacusLaw. I have called at least 6 times. I have emailed the billing department. I have never gotten anyone to answer any of any of the telephone numbers and no one has ever returned my call. I am on auto pay and my account info has not changed and my account has always had more than sufficient funds. Now AbacusLaw has suspended my account and demands another $250.00 to get it reinstated because no one will answer the phone or return my call. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating this is.

I really enjoy the customer service. They are top notch and try their best to work out your problems.

Pros

It seems to provide a lot of functions, so many we haven't used them all yet because I haven't learned how.

Cons

You have to do a tutorial or watch videos to figure out how to maximize it. Also, the cost is high. It would be nice if you could buy just the functions you needed.

We need a very large database and software to support our cases and clients and Abacus is capable of doing that. I like the way that all emails can be linked to a matter and client, all documents and files can be stored in a shared directory for easy access.

Cons

Limited number of characters you can type in, when printing, characters get truncated.

20 years ago, this was a cutting edge, full feature case management powerhouse. over time, it has become bloated, buggy, and well, just plain bad. outlook integration is a joke. one of the ugliest interfaces in the industry. customizations? great when they work. when they work. customer support? good luck with that. a firm that once catered to law firms and their needs now is laser focued on what works for abacus (engage a business partner like hotdocs or the bat or uptime at risk of abandonment a year or two down the road) . clients be damned abacus will lead its customers down countless false paths and leave them hanging/unsupported. good luck with that. cannot recommend this to anyone (ok, maybe archivists chronicling the evolution of legal tech). avoid.
