They are making money due to refund policies in spite of a poor product without some logical features Pros The option of multiple budgets, the options of sales budgets Cons 1\. The inability to readily customize and once done it did not carry the custom format to other budgets 2. The lack of functionality to compare actual to budget 3. the fact customer support was not open to helping us and referred us to documentation that was not helpful and assumed we reached out to them first. The interface is somewhat outdated, but once you get a hold of how their system works, it's quite easy to use. Cons BEWARE --- non-refundable auto-renewal. We no longer wanted to use the software, but the system automatically renewed our subscription. There is no refund policy - we are locked into a contract even if we wanted to cancel. I am good at Excel and was planning to build forecasts on my own, but there are so many norms of taxes, accounting, etc. that I don't know. I used Budgeto because those were built in. It let me produce extraordinarily detailed financials for the application. And I got it! The $28,500 from the grant were key in getting my startup going. Pros The fact that it built in elements I, a non-accountant, would not have know to include in financial projections. Cons I don't know if this is still the case, but at the time that I used it, it was hard to adjust the dates of values used for financial projections. For example, if I entered values and later realized those wouldn't kick in until six months later, I had to go change every field by hand. I couldn't "drag and drop" the values to six months later and have the whole projected curve push out. What a relief !!! Pros The ability to quickly create a balance sheet and sales & cost projections, without having ever done so before. This software coaches you through the process. Cons Sometimes it was a little hard to enter all the data, but I don't know how this could be solved in reality... Reasons for choosing Budgeto I did a Google search and considered other options...this was the most complete solution, and coached you through the process. It was exactly what I was hoping for...!!!
