They are making money due to refund policies in spite of a poor product without some logical features Pros The option of multiple budgets, the options of sales budgets Cons 1\. The lack of functionality to compare actual to budget 3. the fact customer support was not open to helping us and referred us to documentation that was not helpful and assumed we reached out to them first. VP Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "BUYER BEWARE - Non-refundable auto-renew" September 15, 2022 4.0 Pros Easy to generate a forecast. The interface is somewhat outdated, but once you get a hold of how their system works, it's quite easy to use. Cons BEWARE --- non-refundable auto-renewal. We no longer wanted to use the software, but the system automatically renewed our subscription. There is no refund policy - we are locked into a contract even if we wanted to cancel. Partner Education Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Needed a Solution Quickly" February 13, 2022 4.0 I needed to create a financial projection for our startup, including balance sheet, revenue forecast, etc. This software allowed a non-finance person the ability to create a professional financial projection for the company, which we could include in our prospectus. What a relief !!! Pros The ability to quickly create a balance sheet and sales & cost projections, without having ever done so before. This software coaches you through the process. Cons Sometimes it was a little hard to enter all the data, but I don't know how this could be solved in reality... Reason for choosing Budgeto I did a Google search and considered other options...this was the most complete solution, and coached you through the process. It was exactly what I was hoping for...!!! I would probably choose a different software if I had more time. Pros I liked that the software integrated into Quickbooks and was fairly easy and quick to implement. Cons I did not like that I had to use the employee screen and enter each individual vs opting to do payroll expenses as an overall expense item that did not integrate with my historical data. I also did not like that there was not a way to do a percentage for variable vs fixed costs if revenue was adjusted to do budget and forecasting to make it easier for that information to flow through and only have to change it in one place. CEO Information Technology and Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "We got a $28,500 grant because of Budgeto's great financials" February 19, 2022 5.0 On a whim, I applied for a state-funded grant for my pre-revenue startup. I am good at Excel and was planning to build forecasts on my own, but there are so many norms of taxes, accounting, etc. that I don't know. I used Budgeto because those were built in. It let me produce extraordinarily detailed financials for the application. And I got it! The $28,500 from the grant were key in getting my startup going. Pros The fact that it built in elements I, a non-accountant, would not have know to include in financial projections. Cons I don't know if this is still the case, but at the time that I used it, it was hard to adjust the dates of values used for financial projections. For example, if I entered values and later realized those wouldn't kick in until six months later, I had to go change every field by hand. I couldn't "drag and drop" the values to six months later and have the whole projected curve push out. Good support in working through it though. Pros Very good forecasting tool, especially if you have a manufacturing/product/unit type operation, provides a good tool for efficiency analysis etc. Cons A bit tricky to set up all inputs, quite time consuming, but this is quite normal for any analyses tool.
