Overall Asana is a great tool for project management but could use some improvements and customizations.

Pros

I like that Asana allows you to build project plans and assign tasks to team mates for tracking. I also like that you can create subtasks and easily track your individual tasks.

Cons

I wish there were some more functionality in Asana. I want the ability to assign tasks to multiple people because the collaborator feature won't add it to your tasks.

I use Asana to organize my small business. I can create different projects for each aspect, from the work itself to the marketing, social media, professional development, and long-term planning. The project capacity encourages me to check in consistently with different areas of the business, helping to keep all balls in the air. Through different views, I can evaluate what needs doing on a project level or deadline level. I can use repeated projects to remember routines, and I can use templates so I don't have to re-invent systems each time I need them. Overall, Asana makes life easier, which is exactly what you want from a project management tool.

Pros

Asana is an intuitive task manager with a lot of capacity even at the free level. It is easy to start using, allows a lot of projects and tasks, and as I made my projects and task lists more complex, I could make the lists more organized and useful through tools like easily copied and repeated projects, due dates, and places to attach related files right to the task or project itself.

Cons

I really have no complaints about Asana. Like all task managers, it easily becomes overly complex, but that's more user error than an issue with the program.

I've been using Asana for around 5+ years as our main company PM software. I am the President of the Company and it gives me visibility into our teams workload and priorities.

Pros

Excellent, versatile PM software with multiple views, Claude integration, and great value for the price.

Cons

There isn't really anything in particular that comes to mind as a pain point with Asana - the new Claude integration has solved the ability to automate project creation with complex timelines.

Overall, I think that Asana is a really good productivity tool for us. My agency managed a team of 35 with multiple service departments out of Asana, and it made things really clean and easy to use. Their time tracking features, however, are kind of lacking, so we ended up using other tools in conjunction with that.

Pros

As far as project management software goes, Asana is a pretty good one. I think that it's relatively affordable, meaning that it has a lot of value. It's also very easy to use, and a lot of the basic features out of the box, such as automated tasks, recurring tasks, multiple project views, etc., are very helpful. I also really like the customized and saved views and filters, as in manager, to be able to track others' tasks and progress as well in an easy manner.

Cons

I think that sometimes it's easy to get confused within Asana. Also, I will say the search feature is not very good, so if you're looking for a task, it can be very difficult to find, especially if it's completed. The overall search feature not working well can mean you have to be very, very organized.

Pros

It's the easiest to get started in my opinion and one of the most common, longstanding ones on the market. If you learn this, you can apply it to most Fortune 500 companies.

Cons

It lacks some of the customization and robustness of other platforms. This leads to having to be more creative in ways that are against your intuition to build out databases as you'd like.

Overall, my experience with Asana has been very positive. It has helped me keep projects organized, track tasks efficiently, and improve collaboration across the team. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, making it simple to assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor progress. Features like project timelines, task dependencies, and integrations with other tools have made project management more efficient. Although there is a slight learning curve for some advanced features and certain capabilities require a paid plan, Asana has been a reliable platform that has helped improve productivity and keep work on schedule.

Pros

What I liked most about Asana was its intuitive interface and strong task management capabilities. It made it easy to organize projects, assign responsibilities, track progress, and collaborate with team members in one place. The timeline, automation, and integrations with other tools helped improve productivity and kept projects on schedule.

Cons

The learning curve was a bit steep when I first started using Asana, especially with its more advanced features. I also found that some useful capabilities, like advanced reporting and certain automation options, require a higher-tier plan. It can also generate a lot of notifications if you don't customize your settings.

It has helped improve IT task management by keeping support activities, maintenance schedules, and team responsibilities organized in one place. It reduces communication gaps and makes it easier to follow up on pending work. With proper customization, Asana is a reliable tool for improving productivity and collaboration within technical teams.

Pros

I found Asana helpful for organizing technical tasks, tracking support requests, and coordinating work between IT teams. It provides clear visibility into task ownership, deadlines, and progress, which helps ensure important issues are handled on time. The ability to create workflows and prioritize tasks makes daily operations more structured.

Cons

Some features require time to configure properly, especially when setting up workflows for complex IT processes. The reporting capabilities could be more advanced for tracking detailed operational metrics, and some useful features are limited to higher tier plans.

I've had a solid experience with Asana, using it regularly to manage my team's projects. It's been a reliable tool for staying organized and on track, although I do wish it offered more advanced reporting features to help me make data-driven decisions.

Pros

Asana's workflow builder is pretty solid, allowing us to create custom boards for our project management needs. We've found it works well enough for our team's workflow, and the mobile app is a nice touch.

Cons

One thing that took a bit to figure out was the reporting feature, which can be a bit cluttered. Not a huge deal, but it's something to consider if you're looking for a more straightforward reporting system.
