My agency communicates on tasks and some clients also have their own Asana instance where it makes task management a breeze. Very few ideas I've had have been impossible in Asana. I love the slack & gmail extensions which let you create a task quickly when a colleague makes a request via slack or email. Cons The only issue I have is that you cannot switch between two different Asana servers. For example, I'd prefer to see client asana tasks and agency asana tasks all in one 'my tasks' view, but I do not know of a way to do this without more manual work than is worth doing. I will be using it with my volunteers on all future projects. Pros Ease of use and set up. Most features were free but I was able to make use of the upgrade during the last stretch of the project I was planning. Mobile version works very well. Cons It's not a like least but I don't need all the functionality. I used many tools in the past that tried to do everything and over time became weak so hopefully Asana will keep up with all it's trying to succeed on. As soon as you have a medium sized team all using it, it drowns in the data, and struggles to deliver anything meaningful. I love how I can quickly build workflows . Cons There isn't a backup/restore and many items are ...wonky. For instance, templates can't be made universal. There is only one date field. I also like that I can switch between Kanban, list, and calendar view. It helpful to view projects from different angles at different points of its life cycle. Cons Archiving projects isn't intuitive. Which can make looking up legacy clients, historical data and simple clean up difficult as you use this program over multiple years. Which you will likely do.
