### "One of the most important project management tools"

September 6, 2021

4.0

It is a distinctive addition to the members of the work team, as it helps to focus on carrying out tasks professionally and reviewing them periodically and systematically, and is characterized by ease of use, it helped me a lot in the success of my project

Pros

It helps me a lot in managing the various tasks and responsibilities with my team members and organizing them in a way that ensures the success of those tasks. It is very easy to use and contains indispensable tools for organizing and managing projects. Maintains activities management system within my projects. It also makes assignment of tasks and work planning an easy matter, and the paid version contains the tools and distinctive additions that are indispensable, which makes it easy and enjoyable

Cons

At first, it may take some time to learn the tools and how to use them optimally, but over time it becomes easy. The paid version might be a bit high for some people, but it has extras that can't be missed. It's an excellent program

### "Highly recommend Asana"

April 28, 2020

5.0

Overall, I love my experience with . The software is so simple to navigate, it makes my work life a lot easier control.

Pros

I love how easy this software is to navigate. Due to the clean and simplified design, I can "add/create a task" with the click of a button. It gives me the options to add a project title, project description, due date and even categorize the assignment. As a Graphic Designer, each design project falls in various categories, and it is extremely helpful to be able to label each one. I also love how easy it is to add people to your account, and not only be able to assign or pass projects along to them, but to be able to view their project lists as well. Lastly, it only took a few minutes to have someone explain to me how to navigate the software, which is not only wonderful, but time efficient.

Cons

I would love if there could be a feature where you can instant chat your friends. With that chat box, we could easily talk about project details, etc, instead of having to open up a separate browser to write out an email. I believe having a chat box would allow more direct and faster communication.

Switched from

[Basecamp](https://www.capterra.com/p/56808/Basecamp/)

Basecamp was really difficult and confusing to navigate. The design is not clean and simple like is. You have to click a bunch of different buttons to do one task, when that task should be completed and found with one button.

I am very pleased with . I will continue t use it on a daily basis.

Pros

I like that I am able to open daily and see what my tasks are not for just the day but for the month if I set it up as such. I am a planner, so being able to have such an organization on a daily basis is a great benefit to me.

Cons

Other than not being able to open certain files on occasion I have not had ay issues with the functions .

### "Fine, mostly"

November 10, 2023

3.0

It does what it does 'fine', it wouldn't be so widespread and one of the go to options if it didn't, however, it suffers from what any product like this does, and is that you can end up spending more time scheduling and rescheduling the workload than actually completing the work if you're not careful

Pros

Fairly well known so good chance new hires come with a basic level of understanding from previous employment, not a massively high barrier to entry to get started with the basics, but some more advanced features are a little esoteric.

Cons

Support's ropey and integration seems to be harder work than it needs be, documentation can be outdated, misleading and straight up wrong in some instances. Missing some fairly obvious features that're repeatedly requested in the support forum but instead we get something kind of random and mostly useless that I guess a big client paid for and they've rolled it out to everyone to make it look like ongoing development is there regardless of effectiveness whilst ignoring community demand for things that'd be actually useful to a wider base.

### "A Bit Too Complicated"

October 28, 2022

4.0

We use to track our tasks and provide visibility to the wider team on where we are at on our portion of projects.

Pros

has endless features and integrations and could be used as a project management system in many different types of industries. It seems like they make frequent updates and I have never run into bugs while using the app.

Cons

There are a few very basic features I need for the way that I schedule my tasks, features that very rudimentary task managment apps have available, and in the years I have used they have not incorporated these features. Asana is also a little bit too complicated for its own good. Several members of my team have a hard time understanding how to use Asana, and are intimidated to get up and running in their system.

### "Asana Review"

October 2, 2018

5.0

Love it. We are an accounting firm, so probably not the typical client (I’m guessing it’s more suited for marketing or tech companies) but we’ve made it work because it’s so customizable. Super easy to use & love the extra delight feature (sometimes it’s the little things, right?).

Pros

Our firm implemented , after remarkably not having a system in place for task management. Going from nothing to something was a huge improvement, which allowed us to streamline communication, task management, and visibility among teams. We created hundreds of projects for each of clients, and then set recurring tasks within each project. Implementation was pretty much a breeze, as we had a really great Asana team member helping with every step in the process. Asana also has the best help center of any other platform I’ve worked with, and I use many systems! It’s a really great tool for task management, and we’ve had success rolling it out with our team members.

Cons

Would have loved to have seen a better Slack / integration but it wasn’t a deal breaker by any means. We have hundreds of Asana projects, and hundreds of Slack channels, so the integration was basically not possible. Minor con, though - as the perks outline the cons. Also find the notifications to be a bit lacking in that I either get notifications on the hundreds of projects I’m involved in (I’m in an account management role) or I get no notifications. The notifications are much managable for teams that are more specialized, and only have access to a subset of our projects, vs. someone like me, who is on every project.

### "Best Project & Task Management System Out There"

August 17, 2021

5.0

Pros

Not only is everything beautifully designed, but it's really easy to prioritize tasks, and reorganize as needed. There are so many different personalized views that anyone can use it for the workflow that works for them without jeprodizing the "Project" view. Its flexible to work for everyone!

Cons

There isn't a way to set child tasks to be automatically completed if a parent task if complete, There should be a setting for that. The reporting features are also not very good unless you pay for the super duper version. (Not just business)

### "Great way to organize and collaborate with a remote team"

April 11, 2022

5.0

Knowing where we are in a project and being able to assign tasks is helpful. There seems to be some features that i am not aware of and I need to dive deeper into the program. I like it better than teams.

Pros

We are able to collaborate and share documents inside the program. We also use it for tracking franchisee progress through the onboarding period. It is easy to adjust to the different locations.

Cons

I really cannot say that I do not like something. I need to do some tutorials to see some feature that I am not using.

### "An Overview Of Asana"

July 8, 2023

4.0

Overall experience with was very good as it helped us to increase our efficiency and makes profit for the company.

Pros

The thing I liked about was that by using it the completion of each task and the submission of the project deadline are improved. The efficiency of the company increased.

Cons

What I disliked about was that sometimes it shows some error like the project schedule cannot ne done. These type or errors need to be fixed.

### "The Best of the Best"

November 16, 2021

5.0

11/10. The onboarding process was smooth, the product is easy to use, and our team loves it! I love being an user and a member of the Asana Ambassador community.

Pros

From personal to-do lists to high-level strategic projects, really does it all. Functions like custom rules and personalized views help each person use Asana a little differently. The ease of use of the platform mixed with the constant feature updates helps our team to be successful day in and day out. After evaluating multiple of Asana's competitors, there truly is no better product on the market for project management and strategic alignment.

Cons

My only complaint is not being able to mark a project as "Complete" instead, you just have to archive it. But that is a very minimal complaint.

Monday.com was the other top competitor but they didn't have features like being able to multi-home as many tasks as . They also did not allow you to pull in more than 10 products into a Portfolio which made reporting difficult!

### "Great Project System"

June 29, 2022

4.0

I had I good experience with , but it does take some time to learn and get use to, in the meanwhile you find yourself wasting valuable time trying to feed reports of your work in the system.

Pros

The user interface is easy to use. There are many third party integrations. It does offer a lot of useful functionalities for marketing teams.

Cons

Sometimes it is very time-consuming to feed data in the system, thus, it plays a role different that the one it is supposed to play. I do not recommend this kind of suites for small teams that need to have a lot of productivity, since, despite it may allow the managers to take better decisions and track the task progress, it does take time from the workers to perform the activities.

### "Good Project Management tool "

February 13, 2022

4.0

Its a good tool and has helped the company apply the Project framework a lot better, as the engineer the tasks are easy to follow and helps see what needs to be done for each major phase and the overall project

Pros

It clearly shows the task list of the project you are working on, with pre tasks and the option to attach sub tasks to a specific task. It makes the project management for all parties a lot easier

Cons

Ability to send tasks to people or highlight tasks and send messages to PM or Management, for example if a time has been put down for a task and you think it will take longer the ability to do this within Outlook/SharePoint integration would be good

Pros

From strategy planning to daily tasks we put all in and it helps us stay organize on work with clarity on who is working on what task. Great for documents storage and share in your team.

Cons

### "Asana help me with kanban board"

February 24, 2021

4.0

has been part of my life planner for now, i has used it for managing my work project, and also my personal daily task. Document and files can be shared easily internally in the software, without the use of third-party storage service. It is more secure for the data not circulate outside of this software for more security for me.

Pros

Tools that the most used by me at is the Kanban board, i used it to planning and keep track of pur project progress and the stages that we have finish. All the task within the project need to mark its progress, then it will compute all together for the overall progress. It is a must software for me to keep my work on the time template that we have set for certain project.

Cons

Too many project and task that are launch at the same time all together can be really confusing to be managed by . I am using integration with Gmail email for more formal email documentation, but sadly it is not properly maintained and more time i have encounter a problem and reporting to customer support leads to nothing.

### "Good Startup Project Management Tool"

September 30, 2019

3.0

It was a very good tool to use, highly user friendly, quite effective and very visually attractive. This tool is great for startups in my opinion and the price is fair for the features it has.

Pros

I like how user friendly it is, the aesthetics (looks), it's very neat and colorful at the same time, it provides a good option for organization and I think it's a good tool for startups, it makes planning, task assignment, tracking and registering much easier.

Cons

I think the software is amazing but it lacks some features seen on more robusts tools such as Zoho Projects, still, this tool can integrate with other small tools that can give you access to Gantt Charts or timelines, etc. The problem is you have to pay for those additional integrations.

Alternatives considered

For the price and the features, when I tried the free version I felt much more comfortable with this tool than the others.

Switched from

[Microsoft Excel](https://www.capterra.com/p/176574/Excel/)

Because Excel can work but it's easier to get human errors due to the tool manipulation, the features allow you to have a better control over what's been planned, it sends you alerts and allow you to tag users, chat with them directly over a task or a file, attach files to a specific task or subtask, which you can''t easily do in Excel, and also user interface is much better in Asana.

### "An excellent tool for Project Management"

December 23, 2021

4.0

My overall experience with has been awesome. Asana has made it possible for me to organize tasks and track my projects very easily.

Pros

What I liked about this software is that I could use it for free can be used to coordinate on projects and ensures that everyone knows what they should be doing. You can get more done in a short space of time because of the collaboration. Project tracking is also one of the best features in this software. I also liked how I could assign tasks to my team members I also really liked the inbox feature which made it possible to communicate with my team.

Cons

### "Asana is the perfect tool for managing everyday work."

May 22, 2021

5.0

has been exceptional since my company first started using it. In the past year, Asana has been the backbone of my team's work collaboration as we have been working remotely as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. Asana offers excellent functionality, reliability, value for money and I would highly recommend it.

Pros

is simply one of the best work management softwares on the market. I like the fact that it not only allows you to create a project but also delegate subtasks within the project to co-workers and set deadlines. This ensures that everyone knows their responsibilities and when their tasks are due. Also, the task dependencies feature helps work move along smoothly as it allows you to mark a task as waiting on another to help keep complex projects on track and ensure the right work is getting done on time and makes sure that no task is holding the project back. I also like features like timelines, custom templates and custom fields.

Cons

My organisation has used for close to two years and it has been nothing short of excellent. It has been great all round and has greatly boosted my team's productivity and made collaboration very easy. In all honesty there is nothing I can think of to criticize about Asana. It is truly an excellent software.

### "Asana for remote employees"

April 20, 2022

4.0

I used because that was what my client was using. I found it easy to navigate and understand--easier than Trello, for instance. I never had anything fail b/c of Asana and never missed a deadline.

Pros

First, I like that doesn't bombard you w emails about updates. You get them, yes, when someone sends you work, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's easy to upload docs to Asana. Once you do that, your colleagues can then do what they want w that doc without notifying you (e.g., you won't get a "so and so opened your doc" ping). Asana lets you collabarote on your terms. You upload work and team members are notified. When they upload work or ask you a question, you get notified. That's it. Transactional and non-intrusive.

Cons

Really, the only thing I didn't like about might say more about me than them. It was the lack of color coding. I sometimes missed documents because on the threads, the only thing you see are icons (e.g., Word). I would scan a thread and my eyes would miss the most recent iteration. One help w that, though, is that every upload has a timestamp so you shouldn't miss anything. Still, it does happen. A color code could help--maybe something like this user is in yellow, this user is blue, etc.

### "One of the best task management tools you can get!"

May 28, 2019

5.0

Pros

is a beautiful and flexible tool for managing your project and for team collaboration. The tool provides a very simple and easy to use GUI that provides you with quick buttons for all the common things you would need, such as creating a new project or task, assigning users, notifications, scheduling, permissions, watchers, etc. I am pretty impressed as all these options are available right on the main window in a very intuitive manner, as opposed to a bunch of buttons being cluttered in one area or options buried within menu trees. I love the fact that you can create tasks and organize them as easy as making using a simple todo list app on your phone. You type your task and can drag them and make dependencies too that way. There are several views that you can use, such as the calendar view, comments view, task view, and custom views that you can personalize to suit your needs. The colors are vibrant, simple, and blend well with the white motif. Although it may appear pretty simple, it also contains powerful advanced options such as page settings, task dependencies, special functions for managing users. As a collaboration tool, everyone sees updates to tasks in realtime. Asana also provides nice graphs, statistics, and reports. Asana integrates with other popular tools as well, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Salesforce, etc. This isn't even everything that Asana has to offer, it is truly a great tool to work with.

Cons

I don't really have anything negative to say about as it has been a pleasure to use. I guess even with a simplistic tool like this, there are still people in our team that struggle with the initial learning curve and need training. I think if Asana had some kind of start tutorial where it guided you through the basic functions and provided explanations for each button and where they are located then that might especially help new users.
