It works well and is not an overly complicated project management tool. Pros It is easy to use and gets my team engaged. It is a simple tool for organizing projects with multiple tasks and dependencies. Cons Nothing much really. We don't use every feature they offer. You can use the product without unlocking all of its potential, likely causing some users to feel indifferent to its usage, rather than passionate about it. I liked the features and they were easy to use with teams. Great for collaborating. Pros Ability to collaborate with teams for a variety of projects. It is straightforward to use, and easy to assign tasks with descriptions. The free version was great for small teams. Cons Though I know asana is great for teams, I wish there is a version for personal use with timeline view and gantt chart since it can help with personal project management as well. It's as pretty as it's useful. Easy to use, smart automations, and great for collaboration. Cons I don't like the board view. I have used this view in other software, but Asana's different. It helps with accountability and seeing clearly who is assigned to what. And if they completed the task. It's great for a visual organizer of the company. Pros I like that it was interactive and the whole team could join and see. It cut down on meeting times and repetitive discussions. You can assign the team and redirect the team if any one has questions. Cons It was a bit clunky in the visuals. So it can get visually confusing if you are the manager of it. It’s a great reporting tool and helps me manage my tasks. Cons The main issue I faced when using Asana was the lack of customer support with slow response times which delayed my work. Owner Writing and Editing Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "⚠️ Locked Out After Paying — No Help from Support" July 21, 2025 3.0 I upgraded from a free trial to a paid Asana plan several days before the trial ended — yet when the trial expired, I was completely locked out of my account. No way to access my projects or dashboards, even though I had already paid. As a small business owner, this was a serious disruption. To make it worse, Asana’s support system offered no way to get immediate help. It just created tickets via a bot and told me to wait 24–48 hours — for a paid account that was locked out. I eventually found my own fix: resetting the password. That’s it. A simple password reset forced the system to reauthenticate and let me back in. This solution wasn’t offered anywhere in the bot flow or help docs related to trial lockouts. I like Asana’s platform — but this kind of access failure, paired with poor support escalation, is unacceptable for any business-tier product. Asana, please: Add "Try resetting your password" to the lockout page Offer actual urgent support for paying customers Fix this known bug — users shouldn’t be punished for upgrading early I’m still using the product, but this shook my confidence. Pros I've moved fully into the program, and Asana has been incredibly helpful as I work through my startup. Cons Customer support is extraordinarily lacking for an active business product. Easy collaboration and nice views for better insights in current status and ongoing tasks. The comment sections makes it easy to ask questions to other team members. Cons Free plan has some limitations. Unfortunately, they discontinued the "free for students" offer. This is a huge drawback since I used to teach my students some advanced aspects of project management using Asana Premium features as an example.
